Silverchair have been my favourite band since I was 7 and now at 33 learning drums and I've gained even more respect for Ben Gillies producing this shit before hitting puberty
I loved this song so much when it came out cos I was 14 or 15. Was so in love with Daniel Johns I couldn’t listen to him sing haha. Now I’m 43 and just learnt the drums to this after 35 years of inside head drumming so I am STOKED
I'm a person first two albums are probably the only great ones, then the third is decent. Rest of them are terrible the singer ruined the band and is now making shit pop music.
This was Daniel John's first go at it. He grew into a Brian Wilson level genius as time went on. The kid was a prodigy un noticed in the US for the most part. Now he's just a weirdo.
So I guess you just like when things are in trend, because he sang ‘Body and sould I’m a freak of nature’. When time reveals it’s actually not just a song, you blank out. It’s sad. And degrading for an amazing diverse and unique artist.
I remember how much I loved this song when it was first released. I never really paid much attention to the drums on it though and that's the thing I love the most about your covers, you make me notice all the nuisances of the drum tracks. As a guitar player I really appreciate that. And well, of course, once again you nailed it. Keep with the amazing work man! Cheers!
I and my guitarist were living toghter when this came out, as we were Stone And Brick Masons out in the Hamptoms in NY, and I hadn't gotten my own set until 2022, but tapping your feet and playing on the back of cars seats of all the 80s and 90s songs 80 % come from memory , because we never played cover songs ,but we had 2 guitars and we would play that album 30 times a week with Evil Empire,Filter Short Bus, Superunknown was out to, and the reason this area of rock music was so great , starting in 1989 to 1996 , there were 2 different bands making hit albums, big bands from the 80s still pounding out hit records and newcomers, people always get confused on there ages and say they were all 15 in 1995, Ben Gillies was the youngest , still an amazing album written by kids, but on a 1992 promo of a few songs off this record including "Tomorrow" ,which puts Ben Gillies at 13 years old, whats the big deal about that? all the drum parts on "Tomorrow" in 1992 are stick for stick the same on Frog Stomp, and the drums are amazing...
Hello Mister I bought the LP when it was out. Great songs and cool sound. They were naive and fresh : a little bit of this sound still in the 2nd Lp Freakshow but Daniel J decided to evolve... The whole discography is catchy but people wasn't there... Too many critics about "how they sound like nirvana / alice in chains" They are good musicians and, with your cover, perfect by the way, we can "see" how Ben got skills THANK you for this video 👍

Silver chair didn't get a whole lot of love when frogstomp came out. Now that album stands up to most anything from the 90s in my opinion
