Im late but just saw that news story. Love how that video disabled comments and its dislikes are 30k over 6k likes. They know but like you said, no other stories to cover.
Any sane parent would say "I'll take it and see if it's ok or not for you to read it" when their kid come up to them searching for approval upon finding something they were not expecting. Not making such a fuss that it goes right onto the news. Now that kid probably is "the girl who read innapropriate stuff" in her school, even just a a mean kid joke. Way to ruin their kid's life and make their kid's future self complex if they grow more than a B-cup.
@@jaylenharris343 Yeah, I was implying "is it ok to read it at your current age" actually. Nothing forbid to tell the kid "hey, isn't that thing you were interested in a few years ago?" when stumbbleing upon the manga when they're in age.
Why the hell does a school with 11 year olds have DRAGON MAID in its library? That is not a series appropriate to a school library for that age group. Even without the titties and lewd jokes, the protagonist is a 25 year old functioning alcoholic office lady, not exactly the type of viewpoint character most kids are interested in. Don't hate the manga, hate the school that does absolutely no checking on what materials it stocks. Wait... that's it? They _weren't_ angry at the book, just at the school? That's perfectly reasonable. Also not newsworthy, though, so it's still ridiculous that they bothered to write an article about this.
3:27 Two things to say thus far: A: Kobayashi-San Chi no Maid dragon Manga does show basically full frontal nudity excluding the vagina. Nipples etc. included. One scene I recall has a horny nude loli trying to rape a nude Tohru (Because dragons can get "in heat") B: Children thinking "bad" stuff is cool during puberty is part of life. I don't think anyone has more of a problem with their child doing that that goes beyond "I'd rather you not" Tbh, I wouldn't recommend MKCNMD to anyone below 14
Ladies and gentlemen, that's what we called a "Karen" We might heard or read stories of people's encounters with a Karen either on Reddit or elsewhere.
The animation studio who made Dragon Maid had a tragic fire this year and the media has the audacity to attack the animation studio. Cold heartless bastards.
To be completely fair, there's a good chance that they didn't even know about that, given their complete lack of knowledge on anything relating to anime.
Guys you do realize this was a middle school library? As someone who has personally read the manga, I, too, would be appalled to find this in a middle school library.
That doesn't give you an excuse to go out and embarrass your child by yapping to the news about it, she could of just went to the principal about it but instead she chose to go to the news outlets and potentially make her child a potential target for bullying and mockery in the future, kids will see it on the news and probably make fun of her when they see her again.
I actually saw this story because its from our local news. A lot of people on facebook locally were just stunned that this was worth a story. It had to have been a slow news day.
No appropiate The mother wasnt a karen, shes a caring mother who doesnt want their child looking at pics of graphic women thats aim to adults the word "karen"is slowly loosing its meaning. Btw curse words shouldnt be compared to graphic pictures But the mother did gl too far carrying thjs tk media
Meanwhile we had G.R.R. Martin's books in my school and high school, and my high school also had The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and a bible manga about Moses.
Yeah, Tohru showing what you see in a bikini and talking about her breast size is completely inappropriate... while all the murder and body horror in things like Lord of the Rings and Goosebumps is perfectly fine. Good lord. There's nothing wrong with a teenager looking at boobs.
I just love how a middle school has Miss Kobayashi in its library. Tbh I never actusly expected that, but not very surprised either. My middle school library had one piece, dragon ball, naruto, bleach, and a few others. Now I'm in college. Shit time moves fast.
I think both the Karen and the kid are at fault SHE KNEW THERE WERE BAD STUFF IN THE BOOK BUT STILL CONTINUED TO CHECK IT OUT.Its like looking up pornhub on google and knowing that it’s a porn site and then getting shocked when porn actually shows up.
I mean this shouldn't be in the school library in the first place, it's clear not appropriate for middle schoolers. Using the argument that they look it up for young adult isn't a good enough excuse for this, I not trying to side with the mom, but it literally shouldn't be in a school and I don't blame the mom for getting upset. If the 11 year old found it at like Barnes and Noble then then I wouldn't be as sidey with the mom as I am. BTW I like this series.
I doubt the daughter actually showed her mother that book. My speculation is that the mother saw the book, got offended by it, took the book from the kid, and contacted news sources (and lied to them) to get some clout. She's probably some uptight, religious parent who thinks video games cause violence. Lol

At my school we had a few dragonball manga. (Dont remember which ones) That's how i got into anime. Kids in my class would fight for them instead of reading a normal book during reading time.
So that's why they disabled their comments. It's her choice what she wants her 11 child to read.🤦♂️ Mob mentality at it's fullest. She's not even making a big deal like you are. I just saw it.
Mother: “ This is so inappropriate for children her age! You shouldn’t be allowing kids to read this crap!” OPS: “ Ok Boomer.” Middle Schoolers: “ OHHHHH!!!👾👾👾”
I remembered teaching my mom how to play GTA vice city (pirated version) when I was a kid. I showed her why that game amused me. Now that I'm an adult and I got into kpop, I show my mom my kpop merchandise and talk about my kpop bias. This karen needs to learn how to bond with her daughter or they will have no positive relationship.
My parents don't care if I watch anime or read manga I actually got my dad into anime I feel bad for the girl that she probably got yelled at by her mom
I don't think I could ever get my Father into anime unless it was something that didn't contain what he stereotypically saw as anime. Like Cowboy Bebop, Black Lagoon or maybe _just_ passing off Ghost In The Shell. _Most_ of what knows is the stuff when he was younger, then stuff from the 90's like Sailor Moon or Pokemon from my childhood. I could never show him what I watch nowadays and expect him to get into it. My tastes diverge a little far from his. (Though he did go to an anime convention with me, but it was really awkward for me.)
This is like getting hit with the School Days recommendation. I blame the librarian. How did it get in a middle school anyway? The rating on this is at least OT15 or 16. Seven Seas fetishy manga hasn't gotten attacked for being in libraries because people don't squeal about them. I hope it doesn't bring down the house and this Karen doesn't go on a crusade.
“These books should be banned from the school library because of thicc dragon girl!” Meanwhile, many of Shakespeare’s work and Greek myths that involve sex and death made it to book shelves in a form of a comic. And yes, there were manga adaptations of some of Shakespeare’s plays in my past high school, and they were bloody!
To be honest I'm surprised that a middle School library would even have this. When I was in sixth grade, our principal banned kids from bringing manga to school.
When I was in middle school, I watched South Park and Drawn Together. The King family should check these shows out, as I'm sure they'll love them. Also, I should make a video called IHE Jr. Presents: I HATE KETV.
In all honesty, I can understand why the manga upset the mother. For a Manga that literally contains borderline Shotacon scenes between Lucoa and Shouta, it literally shouldn't be in a Middle School Library lmao.
“Mom, I know you don’t like this, so I wanted to show you.”

Yeah this is why manga have age recommendation ratings on the back.
Yeah just like in video games, they blame the games for being too violent when its their fault that they bought those games despite being "Age restricted".
On the official video of theirs, they even turned off the comments (with the like/dislike ratio on). Clearly, they knew what they were messing with (or not at all) but still uploaded it anyway.
Imagine how the mom would've reacted if it'd been the tickle scene from My Hero Academia.
Komm 666 or with Highschool DxD . She would go ballistic;)
Or the train scene from Madoka
Komm 666 >inb4 stories like Monster Musume or Made in Abyss
Im late but just saw that news story. Love how that video disabled comments and its dislikes are 30k over 6k likes. They know but like you said, no other stories to cover.
It's just manga. Maybe the mother should've just made the daughter take the manga back except taking this route.
What they don't understand they see as bad.

3:27 Two things to say thus far:
A: Kobayashi-San Chi no Maid dragon Manga does show basically full frontal nudity excluding the vagina. Nipples etc. included.
One scene I recall has a horny nude loli trying to rape a nude Tohru (Because dragons can get "in heat")
B: Children thinking "bad" stuff is cool during puberty is part of life. I don't think anyone has more of a problem with their child doing that that goes beyond "I'd rather you not"
Tbh, I wouldn't recommend MKCNMD to anyone below 14
To be fair, no, that manga probably shouldn't be in a gradeschool library. The manga goes far, FAR worse places than the anime did.
Oh, is it that one scene? The one that goes...
Kobayashi: Are those DD cups?
Tohru: Yes, because D stands for Dragon.
I think Kobayashi asks "Tohru, what size are you?" and she says "D! for dragon!"
Tohru even managed to make that sorta wholesome

Ladies and gentlemen, that's what we called a "Karen"
We might heard or read stories of people's encounters with a Karen either on Reddit or elsewhere.
The animation studio who made Dragon Maid had a tragic fire this year and the media has the audacity to attack the animation studio.
Cold heartless bastards.
To be completely fair, there's a good chance that they didn't even know about that, given their complete lack of knowledge on anything relating to anime.

I commented on the video and some boomer named carl tried to make it seem like i was the bad guy and i just said "people named carl be like"
Guys you do realize this was a middle school library? As someone who has personally read the manga, I, too, would be appalled to find this in a middle school library.
That doesn't give you an excuse to go out and embarrass your child by yapping to the news about it, she could of just went to the principal about it but instead she chose to go to the news outlets and potentially make her child a potential target for bullying and mockery in the future, kids will see it on the news and probably make fun of her when they see her again.
White thinks so too That’s a good point! You are absolutely right. Im not excusing the mother’s actions in any way.

My mom: proceeds to read all of it "You got any more?".

The real question is how did the library even have that book?😅 the book isn’t made for an 11 year old

I get if you don’t want your child to read stuff like miss koboyashi’s dragon maid, but did this REALLY have to go on the *news??*

Yeah, that was my problem. I agree it's not appropriate content for a _school library,_ but there's no reason for this to be on the news.
Remind me the time the 300 club was talking about sans from undertale. The parent are sicken with sans the skeleton. You can say they had a bad time.
Respect to everyone who disliked the original news video!😂

The manga was rated 13 and up for a reason.
So that's why they disabled their comments. It's her choice what she wants her 11 child to read.🤦♂️ Mob mentality at it's fullest. She's not even making a big deal like you are. I just saw it.

"We can't each them sex-ed yet, they're only in sixth grade!" is what i'm getting from this as well as hate for manga.

Seriously, it would be Kingsmen up in there!
To be honest I'm surprised that a middle School library would even have this. When I was in sixth grade, our principal banned kids from bringing manga to school.
I'm buying my kids the entire manga when they exist.
You r so sweet for filming this at night so people can have a laugh the next morning when they see the video
