This is why I love young people. They open dialogue. I started making videos when I was “older” As an African woman I was met with criticism. Then I upped the ante by talking about my divorce. It was freeing for me to share. Thank you to the young man who talked about his relatives going through a divorce. There is an element of shame that Africans bring to the conversation. Talking about it is how we rid ourselves of that rubbish. Great conversation! I wish more people my age will come on shows like this to talk about things like this.
I personally think UA-cam is great. Like look at the natural hair community you have black women collectively teaching each other how to care for our hair something we weren’t really taught how to do properly. Now wearing natural hair has become a movement and constantly shutting down stereotypes about black women. At the end of the day it is what you make it and I see nothing wrong with doing what you love and telling your story no matter what it is there is someone that can relate. As well as giving yourself opportunities that others may not. Also I love seeing people that look like me on YT. And if you don’t like it you’re not being forced 🤷🏽♀️to watch .Love this topic guys!!
I don't think it was that hard to understand what Umazi (or Chavis) were saying. It's simple - not everyone is meant to be a UA-camr just as not everyone is meant to be a doctor, a chef, a scientist, etc. This shouldn't be some trend that you hop on bc everyone else is doing it & you should do it if you have a genuine passion for it (i.e. a passion for sharing your knowledge with others, a passion for inspiring people, a passion for making people laugh, etc) b/c only those with the passion & drive will make it far bc they're doing it for a greater purpose than money. There's nothing wrong with being in it for the money but those who are in it solely & ONLY for the money will be easily discouraged bc it takes time (it can take months or even years) & consistent effort to even start being monetized.
People connect with people. Plain and simple. When you see relatable content even just simple video like vlogging everyday life people form a connection. So there is value in the simplest content.
I understand what Amazi was saying. Ppl are getting into UA-cam like how all guys got into rap and didn’t go to school. Then most don’t make it in rap... it’s the same with this UA-cam thing.
I think that we are limiting our options by not creating and showcasing it. If they (European decent) can have five ppl who whisper to dogs and yet have ted talks also. What’s stopping us from doing the same we are not a conglomerate people we are extremely diverse so show it.
High demand can increase prices of goods like oil. It depends on the supply too. If the supply is low, and many people demand it , suppliers will be motivated to increase prices
A lot of people are out here vloging about their lifestyle and not all of us are. Interested in that if I can learn something on your channel like how to style my hair or how to do my makeup or even if I can learn how to cook then I’m learning something from you.. so I do agree with umazi cause there’re a lot of nonsense UA-camrs out there
UA-cam is a great advantage for every person. The problem is that us Africans think to hard about the types videos to make. We just sit in front of the camera and do whatever you want to do.
I clicked and came to the comment section first because the title really made me think this was a parody or something. If they'd have mentioned something about creating a UA-cam platform or how to have a decent-succesful UA-cam channel or something focusing on the technicalities behind having a channel it would have been so much more fruitful.

UA-cam has a lot to offer and I think if you are willing to put in the work you can make a great business out of it.

Black Couple Right Here✋🏾 We are a black married couple. Married 10 years. We started about 8 months ago.
I understand what Amazi was saying. Ppl are getting into UA-cam like how all guys got into rap and didn’t go to school. Then most don’t make it in rap... it’s the same with this UA-cam thing.
Of course... we need to know each other better
