Rare Randy Travis Video I Posted The Original But Found a Better Copy In My Papaw Gary Rays Personal Tapes Sorry For All The Water Marking I Hope Randy Can See This Sometime
OMG. I love this. I met randy in 1984. He was a cook at Nashville Country and sang there on the weekends. He went by Randy Rae then. He still wasn't discovered. When my friends and I first heard him, we knew he should be a star. Amazing singer...I have followed him ever since. I pray he makes a full recovery...
You can tell just by his voice he was real country and he was going to be a big country star of course he is anyone out there who grew up listing to real country music knows Randy was going to be a great country star still listing to his beautiful voice today amen I hope he's doing well we all miss you Randy
When I heard him singing in the tent stages at the Florida State Fair, I said to my friend, you will see this fella on the Top Billing stage here next year. HE WAS!
Randy’s nineteen here, And still in his formative years. The first time I ever sang in a honky tonk was when I was 21, I chose to sing on the other hand. When I finished I was told by the band that I should be in Nashville, I never went though. I do love R.T. Absolute Legend!
Fast forward to today and Randy Travis receives the 2021 CMT Artist of a Lifetime Award. Couldn't happen to a better, more deserving person. A true legend with a heart of gold. God bless you, Randy.
Awesome to see and hear this from Randy! Thanks for sharing this gem, Gary! Even though this was very early on in his career, one can see the promise of what was to come. I had the pleasure of seeing Randy perform in the summer of 2006 when he was part of The Merritt Mountain Music Festival in the southern interior of my home province of British Columbia, Canada. I got to meet him after his show in the back stage area and he was the nicest and sweetest man you could ever meet. He signed my few record albums of his that I brought along with me, my white cowboy hat and a couple 8 X 10 photos I got at the festival...He truly loved his fans and he signed every autograph and posed for every photograph with everyone in that area, including one with me. I'll forever cherish that and those beautiful memories of a beautiful man...forever and ever, Amen! God bless you dearest Randy🤠💕🎶
Randy Travis is going to come back and do many more beautiful great songs.Im 37 now.my first country singer album I got was Randy Travis in 1987.I was only 7.loved this man since.we love you Randy. You will get past this.you have the drive and strength.
I didn't know he had done a book, very little gets by me when it's one of my favorites.. THANK YOU for posting.... I just stumbled upon this!! ❤ it's awesome!!! I will have to look for the book... I'm kinda addicted to autobiographies..
He got his start at local Opry Shows around different places. I never ment him but he did perform at the Opry Show I was with. We talked about him a lot at our shows. He's is a jewel among others in Country Music for sure.
I'm listening to him in 2022. Too bad he had such a bad stroke that still prevents him from singing anymore. I'm sad about that. I am a singer, songwriter and guitarist and he was a major influence on me.
Saw Randy in concert along with K.T. Oslin and Ricky Van Shelton at CNE grandstand in Toronto back in the day. Amazing concert (except for Shelton)...had a great time. He was in a class all his own in the 80s...still play his tunes occasionally all these years later.

Randy was born to sing REAL Country Music...I love it and we love you Randy!!
Amazing history! Randy may struggle with words in the present but his music is legendary!
Randy’s nineteen here,
And still in his formative years.
The first time I ever sang in a honky tonk was when I was 21, I chose to sing on the other hand. When I finished I was told by the band that I should be in Nashville, I never went though. I do love R.T. Absolute Legend!
No one watching this realized he was going to be a superstar one day and one of the greatest of all time
Randy is in my top 3.
I pray for randy to get better . Randy we love your music.
God bless my buddy Randy travis.
Born in 1959, so he's about 19 here. Sounds good and voice seems much older. Love it.
I hear a "Hint" of George Strait in his voice. What a great and dynamic voice. Thank You for posting this video.
Fast forward to today and Randy Travis receives the 2021 CMT Artist of a Lifetime Award. Couldn't happen to a better, more deserving person. A true legend with a heart of gold. God bless you, Randy.
He probably had no idea what a great country artist he would become.
He always has been and always will be one of my top favorites,
Great to see !!!! Wish country music 🎶 sounded like this today on the radio 📻!!
He looks so unsure of his ability to sing, so nice to see and hear
Tahlia Naylor haha I thought I was the only one that thought that, in tell I looked into the comments 💀 💯🤦🏽♀️
Good stuff!
I think he's unsure of the cameras and how that system works.
LOL, I was thinking along the same lines. If he only knew what was in store for him.
He’s sooo young!! He only got better and better!!
Such a unique and beautiful voice!!! An all time favorite
Man he had an awesome voice, just so natural like he didn’t have to strain at all…nice and easy. Plus he even got better as he matured.
lol, he looks so nervous. who would have known he'd end up as one of country musics greatest. love it.
Randy Travis is one of my favorites. He had talent from the beginning but he didn't have the confidence. I'm so glad experience let him gain it.
That man could sing a country song
He drew me to classics... what a talent... what a voice.👌👍😊.
He's so unassuming and humble looking here, and that never changed after his success. Great, rich, sincere voice.
AMAZING FOOTAGE......AMAZING SINGER. GET WELL RANDY. MISS YOU.
He hadn't quite honed his sound. This is really cool to hear. Thanks for posting!
Certainly, he was less than polished but you can tell, he has something in his voice back then.
He's trying to sound like Conway Twitty on a George Jones song lol

I adore this man and his music. Totally awsome!!
Watching this you had hope in the future of country music . Fast forward 25 yrs it officially died !
I want Randy fully recovered and living a full life and if we could hear him sing again it would just be icing on the cake. TC & GB Randy.
It's good!! I am glad he kept at it! I don't know what I would have done if it hadn't been for this mans music!

Randy is and always will be one of the best.
I first saw him after this when he was becoming famous. Covered his dishwasher job. Always remember that and cooled out by it.
He was new to being on air- but his voice was always perfect! I HATE him losing it, but he's alive, and that's most important.
Love this song and he does a fantastic job. Thanks for posting.

First time to see this, he was or seemed scared! Love this!
Yes he looked scared and or sad. Likely nervous.
Long live Randy...I like your songs
19 year olds in 1978 seem a lot more mature than 19 year olds in 2021
This man worked HARD to get to where he is. If you haven’t read his book, you’re missing out.
I didn't know he had done a book, very little gets by me when it's one of my favorites.. THANK YOU for posting.... I just stumbled upon this!! ❤ it's awesome!!! I will have to look for the book... I'm kinda addicted to autobiographies..

Randy doing an old George Jones song called all the praises, written by Billy Sherrill and Tammy Wynette in 1972.
19 Years old here. George Jones was clearly a huge influence on Randy.
My favorite🤗
the song in the key of Db
such a great song
Could have been singing about his manager/first wife, I was thinking while listening to the lyrics. Thanks for sharing this.
LEGAND. Still listening to him in 2021

I’ve loved your music since 1984
Too bad it wasn't 1982 eh?
Terrific voice from the start!!!
I would like to see him do a remake of this song.
He looks cool everyone grow their hair long back than, so even I did.
He sure doesn’t look like he’s having a good time. Boy he sure improved. Love Randy Travis
I remember when he waited tables at the Nashville Palace and would sing on stage as Randy Ray.
Wonderful!
Really like his music!
He always seemed a bit shy. I saw him in concert in Monroe, Louisiana many years ago. It was a really great show.
Looks so young
Very good country singer
He might look like that but he sure fooled a lot of people 😉
So shy! Willie, Johnny & Waylon changed that lol
he was a regular long hair back then , i never had a big collar shirt they were popular for two years and i didnt buy a shirt that often. Im a Travis fan. If i were not i wouldnt be here
sounds a bit of Hank Jr., Lefty, and George Strait here. great stuff.
He kinda has a Conway vibe here
John Wood dead on
thankfully, he outgrew that
Conway and some George Strait, I think.
Wow!
