6:39 brother, I was a damn good helicopter for 10 years. 5 of those years in the marine Corps. Parts nomenclature always stumped me. I knew what everything was and how to do it, but I could not care less what certain parts were called. I've always wished I were better about that
I put one on my 2016 it did not save my 6l80 trans but it lowered the trans temp at least 40 degrees some people say 150 to 180 degrees is best in the winter it takes a long time to warm up

Torque converter failures are the biggest weak link of these.
This is NOT a solution for the smaller chevy engines that don't also have an auxiliary transmission cooler. I installed this on my 2018 Silverado with 4.3L and it had NO effect, except slowing the temperature climb. Once the truck was up to normal temp, at highway speeds my tranny was 199F. I've learned that without an auxiliary cooler, the radiator temp itself sets the tranny fluid return temperature. MFR. should indicate this in it's advertising.
Not gonna trust someone's advice with wheels and tires like that on their truck hahaha.
You could also replace the block with one that doesn’t have a thermostat like from a Hummer or 2500 hd. To save the transmission from TCC lining destruction you have to modify the lockup programming as this is the real cause of problems.

Traded in my 2004 Z71 for a 2016 Z71. What a mistake!!!
Although the truck in this video is not mine, I can agree with you after purchasing a 2020 Suburban for my wife. For being 3 years old it has already went through 1 transmission & torque converter and 2 motor mounts.
Wouldn’t suggest this delete for colder winter climates. Have now had this delete installed for a year now. Winter operating temp never made it any higher than 60 degrees ferinheit. I don’t think that is good for driving 6 months of winter where I come from. Far too cold of an operating temperature.
100% agree. in your case better off with the updated 158 degree thermostat
You need to run amsoil in it amsoil stays fluid up to -85 deg. If you don’t you won’t have proper flow and it won’t heat up. I live in NY and have zero issues with mine. There’s a video on here that tests amsoil to oem fluid in cold temps. Oem basically froze solid.
I just had this installed in my 2015 gmc crew cab 4x4 with the 6l80, but it is running hotter not cooler i used the shift tech product part# stl010. It has gone all the way up to 217, and is back down to 189. Is it possible that the shop put the spring in backwards and that is what is causing this problem? Help

They might have put the spring in backwards. Small end of spring towards ball. Either that or you have other issues.
Yes I eventually took out the orginal one that I added the kit too and installed the upgraded unit from gm. I did put the orginal one from the truck into my 2016 tahoe without any issue and it works perfect in it.
