    yep, my grandfather logged in the 30's, and was damn good with a misery whip. The first "power saw" he used was someone elses, and had the power pack up on the landing and the saw you took down into the woods. He and his partner cut less timber and were more tired and sore than they had ever been. None the less, they didn't use the "power saw" again and went back to using cross cut saws.

    nice, my grand father fell timber in the 40`s and his father fell before him. i think his smallest bar was over 6-7 feet long. dont see timber like that anymore.
