mate, your one of the best teacher's of cgb ive seen, you keep it simple and easy to see and understand you have helped me so much, good onya, dave australia.
He is one great guy - down to earth, real, and I was lucky enough to get one of his "My Father's Cigar" cbgs a while back, and what is strange is, the sound has actually improved more and more with age and playing! I highly recommend his guitars!!
Thank you, I've just bought my first cigar box guitar and this video is really useful. I've been playing a diddley bow recently but I have never played anything with more than one string before and wasn't sure about how best to use the slide, you've given me the answer I was looking for. Thanks again.
Thanks for your expertise with the slide. I built a 4 string cbg which I’ve been playing for a while but I haven’t used a slide yet. I’m building a 3 string resonator cbg now, and I like the sound of the slide, so thanks again for your help.
I keep coming back to your videos...probably because you're easy to understand...thanks again (and thanks for the sticker you sent with the cd..I put it on my 6 string case..looks just right!)...
I'll give Mike a free plug here. Not only are his online videos amazing, but he makes awesome CBG gig bags as well. Just got mine in the mail and couldn't be happier!
Hi mike I'm building my first cigar box guitar and hopefully I can achieve that sound I play bass and rhythm so hopefully should pick it up pretty quickly cheers from England.
Man I really like your method of teaching these Cigar Box Guitars- I already play regular 6 String Guitar- but want to learn to a play some slide and picking on the Cigar box Guitar. I think in one of your videos you said you preferred the 3 string- I tend to agree I think it is just easier to Chord and do little riffs on IMO. Again Thanks Mike-
Dude, I finally got my CBG strung up (broke a few strings doing so!) I am ready to start following along. Have been listening to the CDs I got from you. Great sound. What kind of amp/ stompbox are you using?
hey I love your vid, great guitar and great playing! I have a quick question, I'm building my first cigar box guitar and am wondering how long your neck is and what scale length you used for it? Thanks!
Hey Mike. Why is it when I use any type of slide, it sounds like a cat being strangled? It sounds nothing like you explain. There’s no swirl, I have a title wave LOL. Please help.
Darn it... I've got a 4 string... there doesn't seem to be a lot of stuff out there for those... I'm thinking of just taking the high string off and adding it back once I get better...

late answer, but... I think the purpose of the video is to send people to snowdenguitars.com, so go there for answers. Also, I think he uses bare piezo sensors for pickups. Stock pickups are too heavy and after all, with them you might as well make a solid-body electric guitar instead of a CBG

Definitely one of the best 3 string blues tutorials I've seen yet thanks a bunch.

This planet is an amp!
Rock on birdies!
Thanks Mike👍.
Love that song
looks like the pickup is either a rod or disc piezo... great tone!
Appreciate it, Mike, thank you!
Right or wrong, I like the hell out of it! Keep twanging Mike! I'm following you!!!
Nice work Mike
great man...cool sound
Very thanks for your videos. One question, Type of string, acoustic or electric? What is the best option and why?
Yeah what kinda pickup...it has a really nice tone for slide.
Very cool...

Have been listening to the CDs I got from you. Great sound. What kind of amp/ stompbox are you using?
what pickup are you using in the box great to watch and learn cheers ............
Miguel, tune the 4 to GDGB if you can and for now, just kind of forget about the small string. Let it ring when you strum it.

Mike, what are you using for pickup? Or is that a transducer?

are these raised frets?...my cbg are inlaid frets..very curious..just got it
do I need frets and how far are strings from neck I think I am to far away
and can play only with slide
How do you set ur Amp.
Where do you start
What kind of pickup do you use? Amp?

hey Mike, I need some lessons, I will get a motel near your place and you teach me for a week , okay
Thats great but always end up on the wrong fret
Get on with the lesson
how would you recommend me learn picking properly? I cant pick for shit.
how to play slide but not showing what you are doing with your right hand, sometimes all the strings but sometimes only one, too fast to follow
Where are notes so you know where to go
