btw the hoods on most trucks and buses are fiberglass which acts as an insulator thanx.... i work for a company that hasthe same chassis as the freightliner bus with the hood painted flat back for that exact reason

My school district started the black paintings on the hoods to prevent a glare from the sun shining on them. Not to keep the engines worm. They plug them in instead. Oh and im gonna make a video of my collection which will take a while since i have 100s of them

the hood are painted black to reduce reflected sunlight into the eyes on the driver.... the same reason that some "hoods"on modern locomotives are painted black(the engine is behind the engineer. any questions ? try wikipedia thnx
