@@2sladeboys We also got there 90 minutes early, but picked the opposite side! No one knows exactly where they will be until right before the concert starts!
@marloelaine, As Bob Uecker would say, "I'm in the front row!" Enjoy time as a band parent. My brother '84 is a band alum and his daughter SMC '17 was a trumpet player in the ND marching band. We spent many fun times right about where this video was taken.
I don't think Robert's health has been the greatest lately, Mark, so maybe he just wasn't up to being out in the elements for this event. Looks like it was a pretty chilly day!
Chicago has had a keyboard player to sub in for Robert this year. Robert will be out for certain songs, and not for others. I’ve seen videos from recent shows where he is no longer playing acoustic guitar on “Beginnings”. Robert is 80. Impressed that he’s still out there.
Wow, this is so great. Love to see such a talented school band, and I absolutely love Chicago.
Awesome, I ushered at notre dame Joyce center back in 1971 when Chicago performed
Thank you for sharing!!!! Brings back my marching band days and my love for Chicago growing up!!
WOW, that was really great. Thanks so much for sharing. I love Notre Dame Football and CHICAGO!
I was here! Such a great day.
Thanks so much for sharing! You had the perfect angle to see both my trombone player son and Chicago!
We got there 90 minutes early for that spot! (It was totally worth it. :D)

@@marloelaine You are right! And there wasn't any readjusting to get a better view this time. You probably had a better view of my tuba player... LOL.

Brings thoughts of Fr George and the Melodons, thanks for sharing.
This is awesome
So awesome.
Tar Heel here but hard not to love the Irish.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!
Impressive! How many trombone players are in the band for this performances? I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many in a marching band.
Go Piccolos!
Did they perform with Jon Bon Jovi at Bond Hall on November 9th? If they did, I missed it. Saw the halftime show though.
He did not perform, and I don't think he was even there for the Concert on the Steps. (I didn't see him and I was looking!)
Except for Lee, James and sometimes Robert, this just a bunch of studio musicians playing Chicago songs.
Site of show ( building ) ?
Bond Hall at the University of Notre Dame. It is where the marching band holds their Concert on the Steps before every home game.
Did Robert Lamm retire or is he just not there?
He is playing trombone
I know what Robert Lamm looks like. He usually plays keyboard.
