problably the most beautiful thing my ears have ever heard
There is no other recording out there that even comes close to this perfect interpretation and performance. That swell at 1:44 couldn't be more appropriate, moving, and exquisitely executed. The dynamics throughout are everything for which the composer might have hoped. This conductor, this ensemble *GET* this piece on a level no one else I have heard yet approaches. They grok it. I come back to this, again and again, because it moves me, yes, but also because it reminds me that such heights of artistry and craft *are* achievable. And, these gifted singers were -- really -- only at the beginning of their musical lives! What beauty they brought into the world for us! Their hearts were truly in this. I wish I could thank them personally. Whitacre should get down on his knees before them to express his gratitude for their elevating his work to this high region of the choral stratosphere.
The only reason I don't actively wish I had been present at this performance is that today I would be in prison for murder after that sneeze.
this is so amazing I'm crying
BRAVO BASSES!! That low C# on the last chord - AMAZING! What I listen for in all Lux Aurumque recordings.
I love this Whitacre song! I love the bass notes and I Love the low C sharp at the end
absolutely beautiful performance of this amazing piece!
That sneeze at 2:33 is what really makes this song xD
I could kill the jerk for ruining the recording of this otherwise most perfect interpretation and performance of this work I have yet heard.
Well, we all are human...
The best version I've heard. Bravo, Steve Sano!
This was our directors fvr. song and we'll be performing it at her memorial service 💞

Beautiful!
...Putting it up a tone made it much more achieveable for us Basso Profundi!
B-)
It's in the original key. C# Minor.
By the way, this is stellar.
i've heard so many versions of lux aurumque. this might be the best!
It is, without question, the finest interpretation out there. This conductor and ensemble *truly* get this piece.
*Mindlessly searches every second of the video to pinpoint the cough everyone is so appeased about*
I bet the person who coughed /sneezed will remember that for the rest of their lives. Damn.
Works great for sneezes & coughs.
God I wish I could hit that low note at the end. It is two or three notes out of my range. I'm just your average bass two...
I hear a really loud bass in that choir. I cant tell if its one person or a really good blend
It was so smooth until someone sneezed...😪👃
OMG THE SNEEZE AHAHAAHAH
She kinda coughed in tune, so it's ok. :)
don't be vulgar please ;)
