Please do more! I’m looking at switching from Abeka because it’s SO time consuming and I have had to dwindle it way down and not use a bunch of the product I paid for. I love the simplicity of this! It was my first choice when I started Homeschool but felt the pressure to do something more “flashy”
I'm in the process of changing what we use. We are now loving CLE Math, Art With Purpose, and Pentime handwriting. I love these type of simple, rich curriculums. Been interested in these books, so I truly appreciate you taking the time to make these videos!!!!
We've been using Abeka and we love it, but it's expensive. I'm looking into Rod and Staff and I like it. Comparing R&S grammar to Abeka, it seems that Abeka grade 3 approximately covers R&S grades 3+4. I agree with you that Abeka lesson plans are very wordy and often hard to see where the info is, until you get used to using it daily. I'm thinking that I'm going to buy R&S grades 3+4 grammar textbooks and combine that with the Abeka grade 3 work text. I like the level of repetition in Abeka. It's needed for long term memory/learning.
You don't have to worry too much about the company staying in business because you bought used. These books are created by the Mennonites and used to teach in their own schools, so they're not going anywhere. Another thing with the cost is these books are non consumable. So those with multiple children can reuse them for younger children, making them an even better deal. Thank you for the walkthrough. It was very informative.
Great review! We are switching to Rod and Staff English this coming year- will be using levels 3 and 5. We tried Abeka LA this year and it had way too many pieces, lol. I'm planning to do the R&S mostly orally, maybe 25% written. I would love to see your comparison videos!
I like how Cle does a variety. I feel like rod and staff goes into more detail like mastery and Cle is more spiral if I had to guess. I like both. It’s easier to get mg kids to do Cle by themself. With rod and staff I seem to need to sit beside them and verbally go through it with them.

What type of other stuff are you interested in. I’m going to be doing a lot more videos
New to Rod and Staff. This was very helpful. Thank you for sharing!
Great
Loved this review. Falling in love with Rod and Staff.
I LOVE Rod and Staff English, math, spelling and reading. I also love the layout and ability to recall info that ones get from the science as well :)
We dont do it all. Sometimes, when Im doing other curriculum, I wonder if we should do this.
Thank you SO much! This is exactly what I needed to see before feeling ready to purchase.

@@jessie19painter yeah we have a few of their books. I like the way they make it easy. And cheap too.
Is that Christian light education?

Thanks. Which comparison would you like to see. We also have bju press English 5 now
Thank you so much for this detailed flip through! How does this one compare to CLE Language Arts? Trying to decide between these two for my kids.
I would say rod and staff goes very deep into details like mastery style. They are both good. It’s hard to choose each year what to do.
EXTREMELY helpful! Thank you so much!
Glad it helped!
Thank good for the video. Have you used their math?
Really appreciate the video!
Im so torn between cle and rand staff which do you prefer
