    Thank you. I have grown up with the Brownie. Just recently unrarthed it from storage. It still opens and not rusted over. I will try to find film and give it a go.

    Amazing video. What happens if you want to shoot for more than 30 seconds in a row? Can you wind it while it's recording or do you have to stop shooting to wind? Also, can the finished reel be put directly on a projector to view it does it have to get developed? Thx

    • @FilmPhotographyProject
      @FilmPhotographyProject  Рік тому

      Film in the camera is extremely light sensitive and should be handled in dim light. All film, must be chemically developed before you can scan or use in projection.

    I recently bought a turret movie camera at a flea market and got some of your 40 ISO Color Negative film. This is my first time ever experimenting with film but the camera was so cheap I couldn’t resist and I love the look of vintage film. I got that same light meter app you used in this video but just to be sure so I don’t ruin the shot when you take the light reading for example would you set your f-stop to where the 30 is on the brown wheel?

    • @FilmPhotographyProject
      @FilmPhotographyProject  2 роки тому

      40 iso film - shoot at the smallest aperture (f16 or 22) in broad daylight. If you're using a light meter app, you're already ahead of the rest!

    I just bought a Brownie turret to capture our little puppy running around! Sadly, the normal lens is missing so I only have the telephoto and wide angle. Caveat emptor on eBay! I should have been more attentive!

  • @highdynamic4077

    I found one yesterday and I'm thinking of buying it. It is missing what I thought was the lens. It looks like the one shown but is missing the attachment on the front, I clearly see the aperture holes change as I move the dial. But is that attachment a lens hood? Will it work without it?

    I wonder if people got to much light in these old cameras when they changed the film from family trips to Wildwood watching the tram car and other scenery. Do you do boardwalk pictures for fun like Atlantic City and other beaches? I always enjoy seeing all of the beautiful seagulls. Once they got agressuive and went after me in Ocean City NJ for my funnel cake though.

    Great video! I just picked up a Brownie double 8mm a few days ago from a family friend, I think it has film in it from many many years ago but I’m afraid to check as to not expose it. Any tips? I’d love to get it developed but I’m not sure how the best way to do it is.

    • @FilmPhotographyProject

      Hi Chris, The film is (most likely) old Kodachrome which can no longer be developed as color film. Developing as BW is expensive with no guaranteed results. I recommend you use the film to test your camera and pick up a fresh roll of film from The FPP. Feel free to send me an email if you have any other questions. - Mike / MIchael@FilmPhotographyProject.com

      Hey, I’m following up on my comment! I am just now getting a chance to sit down and take a look at this camera. Is there any way to manually wind the film through? I want to open it without exposing the film inside, is there and way to do so without having to just run the camera until the film is completely on the spool? Or should I just switch it on and listen for the sound?

    • @FilmPhotographyProject

      The Kodak Brownie 1.9 camera is focus free. Nearest subject should be about 5 feet away. Regrading winding - when you feel it getting tight, you can stop. Happy shooting!
