"The only waste product is water. That's right: no CO2, no toxic gases. Just a bit of innocent water." *Mind blown* Video cuts to that voice coming out of that young man. *Mind obliterated in a hydrogen explosion*
This is shockingly well explained compared to other videos. You actually answer the obvious questions in terms of how the whole ionization / electron movement happens, versus just some fancy animation that shows particles flying all over. Finally makes sense to me.
This is not explained well at all and technically wrong although at least he named all the important parts. Jesus, this is why ignorance abounds in a world of knowledge available on demand.
@@scavengertag I'll have to rewatch the video but I'll get back to you. If I recall he labeled attaching one lead to the intermediary or something. The leads connect to the cathode and anode. Think of a electrolysis hydrogen generator. The two leads are attached to a cathode and anode that generates the gases but with this the intermediary is a polymer that can filter using a particles electric charge essentially. This is also a setup used in some hydrogen generators and why some fuel cells can be designed to do both and go in either direction.
《Confucian Analects》:When three are walking together, I am sure to find teachers among them. I will select their good qualities and follow them, their bad qualities and avoid them.
I have watched several videos trying to understand fuel cells and this one explained it the best. I feel like I have a strong understanding of fuel cells.
Bro, This video was really easy to understand and really informative too. I highly admire your dedication to make a video like this and I subscribed immediately. The only thing better than your explanation is your accent.❤
LOL YO your face and the microphone I thought I was gonna see a hydrogen Explosion , gradually realized you're the blout with the Philosopher Voice ...you live with your mom but harnessed the voice of 17,000 Englishmen ., respect
Have been trying to find a video that tells you what you need to know to be able to explain what a Hydrogen Fuel cell is, this is it. Fkn solid video man. Good job.
Wow mate, explanation of the topic was exceptional, your explanation really has helped me. "Hope you enjoyed the video", don't have hope for it, next time say "I know you enjoyed the video come back again". Keep up the good work!
I'm from Russia and I'm doing a project about hydrogen energy. I found little information in Russian, but thank you for your video, which helped me to move forward from the dead point. Good luck to you in the future
Excellent presentation, thank you for posting. The true test of a great teacher is to make something complicated seem simple. Well done, I look forward to more.
Great explanation regarding the fuel cell! However, if you ignite hydrogen with air (like in a HICE - Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine) the byproduct of the equation isn't only water but also NOx, for instance, which is pollutant . Hence why Fuel Cells are in the limelight instead.
Excellent explanation! Now I realized that I had it all wrong, thanks. I also hoped that people would be more excited over your explanation than over your voize/age. Grow up people, here you have something to learn. Keep up the good work.
All these comments about the young man’s voice...but I’m here to give props for making a video and the explanation clear, simple and easily understood. Thanks bud....3 years late.
That was very well explained sir! It would be good if we can know more about the electrolyte substance (what is it made of and why it acts that way) just for us who are not familiar with chemistry.
I was hunting to know it properly, only from you I got it correctly ( I hope )!!!! Rest of big companies were just ........ looking at there pocket only ..... Thanks Bro.
THANKS A LOT DUDE. for a longest time, i was searching for a material which will clear my concepts about this technology in a lucid manner, AND THERE U ARE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Well it seems we all agree that your voice is the highlight here. Really, I was surprised you were so young too. You really have a professional narrator voice....like for a wildlife documentary or whatever you want to be a part of. Seriously. Now, that being said, this is an excellent video describing the fuel cell. I searched UA-cam for fuel cells to gain more understanding as I’m thinking about investing in fuel cell vehicles/companies. I’m wondering how safe they are. I did not know how a fuel cell works so this made it very clear. Thank you and good luck in your career… Keep using your voice. I’ll check out your channel.
Thank you so much for your video, I am a french student learning physics in english and it really helped me a lot! It was very easy to understand ! keep up the good work !
Thanks a lot! earned my like and subscribe, this helped me a lot better than reading through a thousand page of book, this video is very useful for my presentation about fuel cells next week! Thankyou very much bro
Excellent video! The way other things tried to explain the process was confusing for someone with only a beginner's understanding of chemistry, and this made many things click just 3.5 minutes in.
Hi, at the end when it says that the wire that transports the electrons can be used as the power source, how can it still form water as the electrons are being used for electricity? Or does the H+ not need an electron to react with the oxygen.
The electrons aren't consumed; they flow through the electrical device they power and then return to the negative side of the fuel cell. Electrons themselves don't disappear, they lose energy going through the device, which is what provides the power.
I enjoyed the fact that your explanation was simple and clear! Surprisingly, you're really young and sounded like a narrator on National Geographic Documentary or an Anchor man on BBC. Good Job!
About the terminology only, shouldn't the wire be connected between the anode and the cathode? Again my problem is with the naming only and not with the layers sequence
Dude, that voice of yours is clearly ready TV... I can see documentaries with your name on it!
Nature docs.
He sounds like a 40-something year old dude doing voiceovers for NatGeo, but he's actually a tween. ffs. Does not match at all.
He could be the Attenborough of physical science.
The man who became the documentary voice... the documentary
@@SharapovaFan I saw these comments before I saw his face, and thought he was going to be like a heavier guy and looks around ~17-21...
I thought it was a grown man speaking until i saw the face!!!🤣😂😂
Me too!!!
exactly my feeling!
David Attenborough's son but he decided to take the path of electrons and atoms
to much pollution there? not first time I see this lol
I couldn't wait to see what you meant. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. He sounds like his grandfather
David Attenborough has found a time machine!
Agreed!. Attenborough will never die!!.
At least not his voice as long as this lad lives

Combustion still produces NOx gases alas. And yes did not expect to see the young face either.
Usually sources of the hydrogen create carbon dioxide due to extraction from methane so keep that in mind.
thing is he puts h2o2 or better known as hydrogen peroxide slip up
But with global warming, the water exhaust of all these vehicles might flood our beloved towns and cities! Protect our basements. OMG!!
@@daddyplankton5855 no, He put 2H2O which is 2 water molecules.
One of the best explanation video I've watched so far, good job :)

A 60+ years old learned something and watched a brilliant explanation from a 17 years old boy. That is not fair!
《Confucian Analects》:When three are walking together, I am sure to find teachers among them. I will select their good qualities and follow them, their bad qualities and avoid them.
Not fair? It's almost like the younger generation is the future and should be learning more than a 60 year old going into retirement.
