Mjf vs. Mox was a really good match and shows Mox can put on a good match and tell a good story when tony actually puts him in a story. Their promos together were so damn good, and the match told a great story with trying to make mjf seem like a baby face just to swerve us in the end with regal. I swear, sometimes i think you hate on Mox just to hate him.
The thing about MJF that I don't like is that I have no idea what MJF's finisher is. I've seen the guy since his feud with Cody, and I can't recall ever seeing him win a match with an actual signature finisher... unless that diamond ring is literally supposed to be his finishing move.
Honestly, i'm a bit surprised Jim didn't have an issue with the diamond ring/brass knuckles spot. It made no sense for MJF to throw down the diamond ring while the ref was knocked out, only to take the brass knuckles later. It would have made more sense if Regal said, "don't you dare use the diamond ring, use these brass knuckles instead!"
The psychology might be that once Moxley made him tap and he realised he was on the verge of losing, he became desperate. Otherwise, you're right, it doesn't really make sense unless MJF and Regal were trolling - which you wouldn't do in a high stakes championship match.
It’s more for the fact that MJF can walk around saying he “kept his word” I think they’ll explain it more this Wednesday n stuff so it’s just how it plays out.

something i've been noticing with a e w matches is when they do the count out spots they wait till 9, and then suddenly they look like they popped a 5 hour energy, and sprint back in the ring. i don't remember seeing that a lot during the attitude era, ruthless aggression, or pg era. or did they do it, and i just never noticed ? also dont remember seeing that during the mid 2000s t n a either or did they do it there to ?
I hope Jim saw or heard MJF’s portion of the Media Scrum
@Kaneisalive honestly.
@Kaneisalive agree 💯 with you
@Kaneisalive Pro wrestling inst just WWE bro godamitt
@Kaneisalive what he said will of been his idea tho so what would wwe change? Give him their writers and water him down?
MJF is such a genius that he might break the rules of Babyface and heel.
“He got me so frazzled I can’t form a cogent simile.” Now that’s frazzled. Jim forms cogent similes like it’s breathing.
I thought it was a great finish with Reagal
Thought it was like all aew stuff..a spot with no real emotion or actual real storytelling..this company is so amateurish. I feel so bad for MJF ..AEW would be in such a better place without Tony Khan and the elite and Jericho calling the shots.
@@Sky_Blaze Exactly. MJF cheated and hid the brass knucks like anyone ever gets DQ'd in AEW for anything including, and up to, attempted murder.
The internet fans had already predicted this ending and saying it would be the best one to do. So of course Tony went in that direction. He just books for the Reddit smarks.
@@Sky_Blaze I don't think MJF will be any better in WWE they'll hold him back 3x more
I liked it. Wasn't sure how they'd screw Moxley but I knew they would.
"Booking an E-fed... whatever the F that might be." That made me snort tea all over the place.
They were billing this as MJF's hometown... which is also a contributing factor in why they were cheering him.
very annoying that AEW does this in the tri state area. He’s from Plainview, Long Island, New York. He’s not from Newark, New Jersey. Two different places with their own people in them. Just cause they’re near one another on the map doesn’t mean anything.
@@loljk9443 Isn't that a big no-no? Someone from New York or Jersey being billed or claiming to be from the other? I'm from the Midwest, but I don't think I've ever heard a nice thing from one about the other lol. I had a buddy who was from New York, and would constantly reference Jersey when making fun of anything.
@@shawnchandler8719 it is a big no no!
Did Cornette catch what MJF said in the post show media scrum?
Then the commentators had a talk about how close his home ACTUALLY was.
MJF vs Ricky Starks. If booked right would be money.
Starks is the only one who can hang somewhat with MJF in promos.
@Scott Huizenga daniel bryan, jay lethal, miro can definitely hang
AEW had really Done Ricky Starks a disservice great wrestker but he's not on TV eniugh same with Hobbs
Starks is good.. But MJF first must go over main event guys like Danielson Page Cole Omega Jeeicho and hopefully Punk..
These two actually had worked a program together at Inspire Pro Wrestling in Austin back around 2018/2019. They had a match and were supposed to wrestle again for the main championship but MJF ended up vacating the title before it happened. They had some pretty entertaining promos on a few shows leading to that 2nd match. It would be cool to see them go at it again.
Jim quoted the Twilight Zone theme in this video. Nice
It’s crazy Jim mention nick bonkwenkel because this match is reminded me of when curt henning beat bonkwenkel for the awa title
Man I vividly remember that match. Hennig nailed Nick with the roll of coins and I was furious!
I was thinking that too during this match. Like MJF looks like Henning in the AWA.
@@MrSpeed-lt8gr i loved it. It was almost PERFECT!
There’s a name that doesn’t pass his beloved “name test.”
Yea Regal and MJF can be a great combo for the stretch...and if they build Bryan up, it could be a good route to go.
I kind of want to see Wardlow be MJF's first challenger for the title. There's story there, so it could be a good build.
@@2DFightergaming yea I think so too...but I think he needs to go thru the progression, like Goldberg did. Win the midcard title from OC...Then challenge MJF for the world title.
Has Jim reviewed MJFs media scrum yet?
This!!!!!!!!!
Just listen to Spotify man
Im sure well get that vid tomorrow. That was a 10/10 promo.
@@Sky_Blaze I thought they came out when the video did. neat. Thanks.
Mox swears he's Stone Cold, not realizing he's Cold Stone. He's Baskin Robbins Scott Lang tough.
Loving the Moxly drawing
We need Brian on this one !
Regal moment was really cool. I wasn't sure how they would have MJF cheat but I knew he would.
If HHH gets regal back to WWE ...i hope MJF comes along as a package deal...this is Heyman-Punk kind of gold right here.. ❤️
😂keep dreaming
dream on
Triple H will bring CM Punk back to wwe if he and Punk agree its whats best for business. Haha, wrestling entertainment or whatever is garbage these days. Yeah I know, you heard it before, but you never watched it before. What kid goes back on the wwe app to see the harley races, the tully blanchards, the stings, the lex lugers, the dusty rhodes, the macho mans, the harts, the rock n roll and midnight expresses! Hell even the dx express and yes lex express was stupid. Tatanka and tito santana have more talent then the entire locker room of wwe and aew these days. And i mean now! If tito and tatanka decided to headline an underground show, id go see that. Hell hacksaw can be the ref, and the 2x4 can be the special guest bell keep. Bring out the killer b's for fun! Just like Punk, as in the music genre, not the great spokesperson from chicago, wrestling needs to die. Its stale, soggy, burned out, dehydrated and watered down at the same time, and no matter how much you try to revive it, its gone.
@@stevohavener3277 but you still gonna watch 😂
@@vince11harris nope, i havent in years. I got internet fools like you to keep me updated. Haha
Main reason is MJF is so good, it's becoming more and more difficult to boo him.
Did you hear the promo he said after the show? He said thank you fuck you bye Jim you know he listens to you
Now that MJF is the "Baby-but-not-the-Baby" that means Jericho and his group are going to beat the piss out of MJF each week until he wins the belt.
Jericho is so sad at this point
Watching AEW PPV’s is no different than watching Rampage or Dynamite and possibly Dark/Elevation! No Grand Production values. Why pay money for it. Ridiculous
The match was in Jersey.
MJF is a hometown baby face there just like Long Island.
oh man i forgot how much i liked solomon as a cohost!
It was kinda obvious Regal was gonna heel turn on Mox.
2:35 quote of the year! Will be using this one Jim 😂
😄
Brian last replacement sounds like Tony Khan 😂
Omg is Bryan last gone?!?!? I hope so...
Why did Brian leave
Sounds more like Vince Russo with more kids turned up on his voice.
i take FULL responsibility for that...
(fires you after publicly admitting fault)
That's where Brian Cage got that "who's better than Cage" from, Chris Kanyon.
Him, the bucks, and Hangman are hard-on fans of Kanyon. The buckshot lariat is a move Kanyon used a lot as Mortis
i think mox was not to into it cuz this point he still supposed to be on his vacation. so he prolly just wanted to get this over with and go on his much needed break. but it did take away from match alot.
Like Lesnar when he had to fight this loser?
"Mama Jobbers Soothing Salve." 😂
The mussolini living colour gimmick paid off in a big way 🤣
huh?
I keep hearing Jim say it but when he dropped "like mussollini, during world War 2." Full stop, I had to stop and laugh
Finally AEW has a champion that isn’t WWE or indie fan service.
I think this is a way of keeping Regal in the company. You pair him with the champion and you pay him a lot of money and you give him a backstage rule which apparently Tony is handing out right now
More enticing than working with one of his best friends who runs the biggest wrestling company in the world and whom he respects? Doubt it.
Regal has always had the backstage role
@@manuelper He can come back to WWE any time he wants. If he re-signs with AEW, he can groom WWE's future top star right under Tonys nose and Tony won't even realize it.
@@Kratosx23 That would be some Sosuke Aizen stuff if you know anime lol.
What happened to Jim's other cohost?
Wrestling Hub said the real reason Moxley dropped the title was because he was going to take a vacation, which he had planned before the fallout of All Out. Which may also explain Moxley's disinterest in the match.
It's not like Moxley would've retained if he wasn't due a week off lmao
What explains Moxley's disinterest in every other match he's ever had?
@@Fantasyremix right ?
@@Fantasyremix Good point!
Moxley and a lot of other veterans are very jealous of MJF it’s clear after this match and looking back on a lot of stuff ..they hate that he’s so good and so young …26 years old and the star of the company
Didn’t even watch it but Jim paints a good enough picture 😊
Solomon was a breath of fresh air to this show honestly, great choice for a substitute
Would like Jim Cornette to manage MJF one day it be great for business
Moxley's so cringe and tryhard and middle school edgy it's very easy to hate on him.
You're right he puts on a good match and story WHEN HE WANTS! He does not do that night in and night out
Did I miss something? Why was there a ref bump AFTER a piledriver through a table? Would brass knuckles of been a dq when a wooden table wasn't
The thing about MJF that I don't like is that I have no idea what MJF's finisher is. I've seen the guy since his feud with Cody, and I can't recall ever seeing him win a match with an actual signature finisher... unless that diamond ring is literally supposed to be his finishing move.
Dynamite punch for a heel finish, and the salt of the earth (his armbar submission) for a wrestling finish.
@@movement6377 Oh thank you! So his finisher is the arm bar. So he never got the chance to even attempt his wrestling finisher against Mox, did he?
@@2DFightergaming mox wasn't tapping out...
He may be ok in the ring. But, you will always watch his matches.
@@meantime69 Mox should have tapped that would have been best for MJF
I think this is the best heel supermanager heal combination since Andre the Giant and Bobby The Brain Heenan
Where is Bryan???
Yeh cos then you're looking at it like what if he threw the ring out and then got submitted by moxley instead of turning the first choke into a pin.
It’s more for the fact that MJF can walk around saying he “kept his word” I think they’ll explain it more this Wednesday n stuff so it’s just how it plays out.
What happen to the book on tape guy, who filled in last time?
Gotta wash the Hepatitis A, thru Z off
Where is Brian?
Imagine Regal & MJF jump ship together in 2024…
