I don't know if I like Don Quixote. I always want it to be darker or more intense, somehow. It's definitely in the category, but not a favorite. And the Yurameku inks like Amamoyoi and Seki are in their own category. The Yurameku inks are weird, but they're weird *together.*
“But they’re weird together”: that could be the Independents Gang motto. I wanted to like “Don Quixote” because it’s an amazing book and the most-often-played musical of my childhood, but it seemed kind of boring. Something that evoked Rusty armor or the Golden Helmet of Mambrino ode the settings of the partial parts of the novel world have been better.
I have two of the first four “weird” inks, never thinking either particularly weird. That last mush-mash of highlighter neon colors does nothing for me, but then I’m already half weird from the first four. 😆
Diamine Mozart I thought was brown until I started using it for drawing and noticed the deep red undertone. Handel might have been one of the first weirdo inks I tried. And Dark energy as well.
Monotonic isn't actually a dilution solution. BPC has a whole separate thing for that. This is just like a blank ink. I don't know what the difference is, but I guess there is one?
I recently got a bottle of Kobe’s Onomatopoeia Ink kasakasa. In my hunt for every variant sailor has made of Rikyucha, this one looked like a contender. It kind of is and kind of isn’t. I’d say it’s more like the Sailor 5th anniversary Shikiori Minari but darker. It does kind of shift from wilted green to brown but stays green. A weird and interesting ink.
Another recent purchase was Kobe 150th Japan Rail Purple Sepia. It’s weird because the box color is exactly what you’d expect. A brown that leans slightly purple. But, when used on white papers it looks like a deep cool purple. And on cream or ivory papers it looks brown. Like the 2nd round of Yurameku inks, the sheen makes it the color on the box. Purple with a bronze sheen. Super saturated, like Bungubox Ink of the Witch.
I was surprised not to see Wearingeul Don Quixote in this video! Or Sailor Amamoyoi. Some really interesting inks, though!

I NEED the neon!
This was a fun video! Colorverse Dark Energy is one of my favorites. 😀

Those neons are BRIGHT! I want to use them to make a costume and go somewhere with black lights.
Great category.
Love this! Diamine Handel is a big favorite of mine. Now I've got to go get samples of the others.
For weird ink, try Birmingham Pen Company Interstellar Bronze.
One of my current favourite weirdos!
I literally just got a sample of that from Ruth yesterday!
De Atramentis has the same thing as the Birmingham Pen Co. Monotonic. De Atramentis calls it Document Ink Dilution Solution.

Oh neat! I have Kasa Kasa, but I haven't used it yet. I need to get on that.
Ah taupe inks 😁
Cos I'm am ink 🎵
I'm a weirdo...
What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here.
