  • This will help and work on all cars, but specifically helps to fix the notorious Elantra N dash / screen creak. The trick is finding the source of the creak or rattle, which may differ for people. A lot of FB group users have mentioned a creak behind the radio display. This fixed the issue for me.

    Another thing I noticed was the top dash speaker, right behind the screen, also rattles a bit. This cover easily pops off w the trim tool, and you can stick a few pieces of adhesive foam on there and click it back down.

      I noticed the same thing on my end! I’m kinda afraid of messing anything up or breaking it. I’ll most likely take it to the dealership to fix that rattle

    Literally I can’t believe that I find a video for squeaky dashboard for Elantra 2021+ I have been searching for ages lol. I will definitely try that

      The key spots are behind the maps screen, directly underneath the screen and above the vents, and wear the dash meets the speaker grill right above.

    The screen on my Kona N does something similar. And just like your EN if I lightly pull on the screen it stops. Definitely going to give this a try, thanks for the tip!

    I've found I had to take the whole components out of the dash. For example the head unit, and take that apart via unscrewing little screws, and then applying felt tape inside of that component to stop plastic on plastic contact (causing rattling sounds). Once you have the component out, you can really hear that rattle amplified when you press/twist it with your hands.

    I got a great tip for you. The big gap in the dashboard you can also push some of these foams this helped a lot, do you anything to do to quiet the middle bar?

  • @ziyadabdullah931

    Have you managed to put some of the foam in that gap in 4:45? I filled my car with this foam all I have left is that little gap which is hard to fill and the cluster is creaking also

    Great video to refer to if I have issues in the future. 22 Elantra N have driven it over all kinds of roads. Perfectly solid, zero creaks knock on wood. And also why not go on softer damper settings, if it's that rough?

    I just test drove an n line yesterday and I was surprised by the lack of interior quality. It was creaking from almost everywhere. Feels like they are going backwards in quality now 😢

      Glad to hear - The middle bar top piece pops right off. You just gently pry. I also filled that w more foam tape and it helped a ton. If you watch my last short you’ll see how it comes off lol

    I have a 2022 and 2023 Elantra N. Neither has creeks rattles or noises. I am in southwest perfect weather with billard table flat roads.

    • @defaultdaniel
      @defaultdaniel  Рік тому

      On fresh roads you won’t hear a thing. Tbh most of the time, you won’t notice a noise. But if you’re in N mode on stiffest suspension setting, and a crap road without music, I guarantee you’ll hear something.

  • @aaronarevalo229

    I have a 23 limited and same issue I’m just not exactly sure where the creak/sound is coming from. Sometimes it sounds from the passenger side and sometimes from the mid handle side.

      Mine was behind the screen and under the center dash speaker. I popped off center dash speaker and folded some foam in between some crevices closer to windshield and it stopped. I was able to find it by knocking on my dash in a fully quiet area w my windows closed. That replicated noise and then I could pin point

    • @defaultdaniel
      @defaultdaniel  Рік тому

      @@aaronarevalo229 yea it depends on temp and the quality of the roads. Mine got worse the hotter it was. Once I pin pointed the exact area I got it to stop all together

      @@defaultdaniel when I first got the car I didn’t hear the noise but then summer approached and I’ve heard it ever since, so you think it’s that gap and the heat that caused the creaking noise? It can’t be anything in the engine or mechanical?

    I have creaking sound in the cluster behind the steering wheel from down do you have a fix?

    • @defaultdaniel
      @defaultdaniel  Рік тому

      If you remove the speaker grill there is one screw. Remove it and the whole trim piece above cluster will pop out. There are screw’s on top of cluster. They may be loose. Another EN owner told me his were and they were rattling

    • @ziyadabdullah931
      @ziyadabdullah931 Рік тому

      @@defaultdaniel I’ll check. Why you opened the middle bar trim have you found the screws behind it loose?

    • @defaultdaniel
      @defaultdaniel  Рік тому

      @@ziyadabdullah931 no middle bar trim was fine. I just added some foam tape on inside. Creaks a little less. But once you pop the center speaker grill, look down behind screen. You’ll see just 1 screw retaining the whole cluster cover. Remove that and gently pry the whole thing off. Then you can access and tighten all the other screws.

    Hey man, its happening on mine since day 1.. putting cloth pieces behind the screen seems to worsen it, any tips or ideas? Im thinking of removing the top of the dashboard to put tape everywhere

    • @defaultdaniel
      @defaultdaniel  9 місяців тому

      I more or less wound up doing that to mine. It’s just the quality of the Plastics. They flex regardless depending on temp. It’s pretty easy to remove the most upper covers and then I just used that foam around all the joints. It’s 99% Better but even I still get an occasional creak

    • @capcap9122
