it's almost like revolving the entirety of one's hopes and dreams around one shallow past-time is a bad idea. these kids are learning, possibly, the most valuable life lesson. kiryu is hurting their feelings now while theyre resilient so that they dont wake up later and look at a life wasted. if someone had stomped pocket circuit fighter hard enough he might not be the absolute mess that pocket circuit fighter is. kiryu is crushing these kids so they can learn and grow. TLDR: you can learn one of life's most valuable lessons from the Cat Steven's song "Moonshadow"
