A video version of the steps/turns guide I made.
Difficult Steps/Turns (those that count for levels) for Singles/Pairs: Rocker, Counter, Bracket, Choctaw, Twizzle, Loop
Difficult Steps/Turns (those that count for levels) for Ice Dance:
Rocker, Counter, Bracket, Choctaw, Twizzle, Outside Mohawk
Non-Difficult Steps/Turns (those that don't count for levels):
three turn, inside mohawk, toe steps, chasse, change of edge, cross roll, crossed step in front, crossed step behind, slip steps, swing roll, progressive, illusion, crossovers
I have examples of all the difficult steps/turns from every entry edge. I also have examples of two of the non-difficult steps/turns from every entry edge (three-turn and inside mohawk).
I’ve been following figure skating for a long time already but I still confuse some of the steps sometimes. Thank you so much!
Wow, this is so difficult but thank you to have made this video!
This is excellent. Thank you!
Amazing work! Thank you!!!
Thank you for all your hard work!
Thanks a lot! Really nice to have descriptions and examples and “figures” on ice to study together.
Great vid! I'll need to watch it in more detail... but... (I'm not a skating expert at all, so this really is a question, not a critique) I am a dancer so I am wondering: does it really matter that much whether the skater is turning "clockwise/couter-clockwise" to define which step they are doing? doesn't the direction of the turn depend on wich leg you're standing on? and hence wouldn't it be clearer to talk about turning in/out or inward/outward to classify the steps? or do the steps really have different names/scoring depending on which leg is your supporting leg? seems to me it shouldn't since there must be righties and lefties in skating aswell as in dance...
This is really good, thank you. I'll probably have to rewatch it to remember it all but it's really useful so I can understand what I'm seeing and what I'll hopefully one day be able to do on ice
Thank you, im learning something new!
This is beyond helpful!! Tsym!! 💗
