.....oh my god it's been 13 years??? This is still my favorite live recording of astronaut. I've seen beach house many times over the years (oh my god over a decade!) and they've performed beautiful renditions of each era of their music. Many touching experiences! But this particular performance.....what I would have given to be there! I'm so happy this video is still on UA-cam. Absolute favorite.
square1971 me too. I actually liked them a bit more as a small, interesting band than after they became big on the indie scene - I was at their 2012 gig and it didn't really live up to the hype, also perhaps because they tried to live up to it themselves (at least that was my impression)
i didn't realize there was hype, I don't go to gigs ort read about them, so I don't know. You're probably much younger than me. Who else do you like now, that's "small, interesting".
I always felt their music had that devotional ambience associated with it. I don't know if devotional genre used dreampop style and if both are thus mutually correlated. Enjoy them lot .
I feel like im in another world that has a whole different way of living and yet its similar to me... Like this music is on a whole different level that isnt just the way we listen to it. It's magic.
Once in a lifetime you are able to receive the look she gives to the camera while smiling and dancing, for me, that is the meaning of life, gladly I found it in someone I really love, even if it wasn't possible for us to be together (at least for now I hope) I will always remember her beautiful smile, come to home when you left long ago, I trust the things we do, holy or not...
