ISSHIN THE MASSHIN IS HERE TO THROW DOWN Y'ALL!!
What was your favorite moment of this playthrough, and what game do you recommend I play next?
Persona with Jacob would be cool, but a game I think you'd like is Return of the Obra Dinn. It's a cool puzzle game where you basically have to use detective skills and a magic pocket watch to find out what took place on the "Obra Dinn", a ship that was recovered with no one on board.
I think Disco Elysium would be cool!
Perfect time to start Persona 5 Royal tbh
HOLLOW KNIGHT
Bloodborne?
Caleb finally meets Isshin the Glock Saint
No contest, best final boss in any fromsoftware game and potentially any game ever. No gimmicks, no BS, just a boss testing you on every single thing the game taught you
FR. This boss will never not be an absolute blast to fight. Every time I fight him (even after beating the game) adrenaline starts pumping through my body. I know if I make one mistake, I could be dead at any time. Isshin truly is an incredible boss fight.
Hardest boss ever
Isshin is a masterclass on how to design a perfect final boss in a game, as he includes every single mechanic you need to master throughout the game. He's definitely one of the most enjoyable fights I've ever experienced.
Yep. Loved that final boss. Challenging without being too difficult and pushes you to pretty much put together everything the game had you learn.
Except a lot of people are too aggressive fighting him, leaning too much into classic Dark Souls/Bloodborne. My approach was to be defensive because Sekiro is not a warrior like in the Soulsborne games; he's a ninja. I ended up beating Isshin on my seventh attempt because I stayed patient and on the defensive until I broke his Posture through all three phases.
@@AdderTudebeing aggressive is the game tho. Attacking and deflecting is actively forcing the enemy to get their guard broken, the more buttons you press, timed properly, is the way to go
This for me is the 'canon' ending. Sekiro staying loyal to Kuro until the end, sacrificing his life for his master. Absolutely amazing character. While Genichiro wanted immortality so bad, Wolf gave his life and immortality away so Kuro could live as a normal human.
Genichiro "wanted immortality so bad" because he wanted his country, Ashina to not be razed to the ground by the Interior ministry. He literally killed himself when he realized he is physically incapable of beating Sekiro to entrust his wish to the only warrior he can trust Ashina with, a young Isshin.
In his own words "for her [her implying the land of Ashina, in Eastern Cultures - your homeland is revered as if your own mother] sake, I will shed humanity itself." Genichiro wants his country to survive BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.
In my eyes, Geni is objectively the most "loyal" character FromSoft have ever written, though far from being the most "moral" (the Old Ivory King taking that place for me).
Other way around. Kuro was Sekiros master lol
@@mgk-metalgearkelly5054 finally someone who understands the character
@@mgk-metalgearkelly5054 Morgott is the most loyal imo. He remains loyal to the death for a city that shows nothing but hatred for him. He denies his own blood to serve the Erdtree, even when the world despises him. Genichiro at least was revered by his people, given credit for his effort. Morgott was reviled and yet did everything for the people who reviled him.
IIRC, the true ending sees you helping the Divine Dragon to where it's able to return to its place of origin, ending immortality for everyone who has it.
the fact that he learned how to mikiri and lightning reversal on the final boss.....
I mean learned it in the first fight against Genichiro but we are not required to use this mechanism until this fight so I find it normal to forget it at first
@@Ripo_what about the Mikiri? That's kind of ridiculous lmao. Every enemy with a sword (other than the Headless Ape) has a thrust attack
@@pootzmagootzdoesn't the game straight up tell about the mikiri counter?
@@GravitonLance pretty sure its literally the first skill in the tree
Sword Saint Isshin is my favorite Fromsoft boss and that particular ending is the most emotional one for me.
The exploration is more limited in Sekiro due to being an action adventure game that doesn't give options to main weapons or armor ect., but there are some cool items to find from almost every apparition mini boss.
My god seeing you finally using the Mikri Counter make me so happy. Hope you play through for the other endings.
Appreciate the effort put into the editing - it may appear simple but rewatching a vod and deciding what to cut and what to keep as well as how you wanna cut it isn't that simple; especially when you could have just dropped the whole vod
Sekiro is one of the best games ever made, there are 3 games I believe to be "playable anime" and that is Sekiro and KH2/KH3, at the highest difficulty when fighting the toughest bosses these games (while balancing a solid, fair challenge and demanding a certain level of reflexes) they still feel so incredibly fun because you're actually doing an insane, over-the-top back and forth sword fight between you and these terrifying enemies. Not only is it some of the most engaging and visually appealing combat of all time; but you're REALLY TRULY using this tightly designed combat to participate in a stylized demigod duel. It feels fun, it looks awesome, its as hard as they come and all the more rewarding for it.
(PSA if you love Sekiro as much as I do go play the KH3 expansion superbosses; the rest of the game is what it is but those superboss fights combined with the excellent combat make it just as good as the best-of-the-best ARPG boss fights Fromsoft has put out over the years)
Kh superbosses really are some of the craziest bosses in gaming, more so then from soft imo. Even if a lot of Osaka bosses were bs hard, not good hard
You gotta play Persona 5 Royal next!
Well it would be better if he plays P3 first, since it didn't aged that well (gameplay wise)
Also next game most likely would be shorter game.
Yeah!
@@Luquitobfm P3 isn't out on PC yet tho
Thanks for the Souls content this year. Hope to see more edited streams in 2023!
4:55 damn, of all yt channels i watch, this was the last place i expected to hear Max's name lol 😂
The hesitation that is my defeat is thinking if I should jump or Mikiri.
Damn, almost the best ending. So close.
To be fair, who in the right mind thought that to get the secret ending, you need to ask for rice 3 times from the Divine Child first? Certainly not me.
@@naythonld2088 did it by accident because i kept sucking and needing to use rice to beat bosses
@@marcrosales3287 pity reward for being bad lol
@@naythonld2088 Lol I got that ending without guides experimenting with when I can actually get rice and jumped into doing a quest line rather than bosses as soon as I could.
Yes finaly we face Ishin...THE GLOCK SAINT!!!
I think isshin is. The best final boss in any game (at least that I’ve played) that is literally the test of all the accumulated knowledge that you learned through the whole game. And he makes sure that you’ve mastered every part of the combat mechanics in a way that never feels unfair and makes you go “I know what I had to do, I just need to be better” and the feeling is far more motivating and enjoyable than maddening like some others. I never once regretted having to start over the fight because it was just that good.
You could still fight the secret ending boss if you want
20:27 that shot though 😂🤣 he destroyed your gourd
I think you can really tell the difference between demon bell and not. Your posture bar fills up so slowly and the enemys posture fills up so quickly. After 4-5 deflects, my bar is pretty much full.
Isshin The Glock Saint :D
Thank you Mr editor for that post credits ending
Really want to see your take on Nioh some day!
Probably one of the the best final bosses in gaming makes you utilize every counter in the game by using every mechanic in the game nit only that but he’s aggressive and difficult.
And the fight itself is epic knowing your fighting a guy who fought and killed all manner of beasts, monsters, demons and legendary warriors a one man army and basically demigod in terms of power and skill and your fighting him in his prime.
Thank you
Ah, I was hoping you would see the other endings too. But yeah, it probably feels better to leave it at one conclusive one.
Caleb still double tapping and missing mikiris makes me want to die
You gotta do the shura ending for one of the coolest bosses in gaming.
Let's be honest, it couldn't have played out better where Isshin decides to do his flashiest moves while shrugging off everything being thrown at him. Ultrachad.
Heh; found a random Sekiro playthrough. Let's see how long it takes!
7:25 One More Time starts playing
30:00 keeping this to keep going back to it
I beat isshin first try. died to genichiro 3 times though. Amazing fight nearly lost in phase 3
i learned mikiri counter in this fight
ok so i got good at killing genichiro wihtout spending resources. got pretty good at isshin phase 1. then i just spammed mortal blade with the rice equipped. still a win haha
I want to judge you, but most of my victories involved throwing ash in peoples faces...
@@RynKen nice. Very shinobi of you. Surprised there wasn't an option to lock bosses in their homes and set them on fire. Like a true ninja! Haha
@@RynKen it's one of the game's mechanics, no shame in exploiting it. In fact, as a Shinobi, you are expected to exploit the enemies' weaknesses. Sekiro actually taught me how to be a better gamer overall by forcing me to follow the rules and mechanics of the game. This forced me to find creative ways to eke out a win 😂
Wait... I thought you guys had played Persona 5 in your off time for some reason. Definitely go for that.
Bro why don't you just reflect the lightning?
Sekiro was very good but its my least fav soulslike because it requires a playstyle im bad at- and it was almost impossible for me to beat.

One thing I think Sekiro perfects that I haven't seen a lot of people mention, ever, is the progression system. I hate that they went back to an attribute and leveling system for Elden Ring, which would have benefited most from a simplistic "health and damage increase tied to milestones" progression system. The games having attributes makes no sense from any perspective. The reason original tabletop RPG's had attributes is because they were about telling a story with your friends, and a character that can do everything is boring. There's no such roleplaying to be had in the Soulsborne game outside of a few binary choices. It just serves to restrict build variety and fun. Imagine how much better Elden Ring would be if you could use any weapon or any spell you came across, if only just to test them out. No more disappointment at the end of a dungeon or beating a boss. Just "Oh that's sick, but not really my thing. Glad I have it tho!" Equipment restrictions already solves the potential problem of the player being unable to do too much at once. I really hate when games just implement mechanics like this (or inventory limits or survival systems) without thinking about why they were actually implemented in other games to begin with and what purpose the actually serve in theirs.
I mean the purpose it serves in the other games is to feel like you're building towards something They were implemented specifically because people want the feel of builds. The Souls games aren't even short enough to be upset about not being able to use a weapon since the game is vast enough that you will be able to use them and still have more to do to play with your new toy.
You say Sekiro perfects this system, and while I love Sekiro, literally one of the major complaints I've seen for it is the fact that there's severe lack of weapons and builds so you can't experiment.
Also the fact that Sekiro isn't an RPG and is built more like an action game despite Souls-y mechanics, while the Soulsborne games want more of a patience-like gameplay.
I don’t think a negative for Sekiro is that it has no customization, even before the game came out, Miyazaki stated that it would have no multiplayer (the multiplayer mod is fanmade) and that it isn’t an RPG where you can invest in stats.
@@SteelBallRun1890 I think it having no extra weapons or builds isn't necessarily a negative, just up to taste. But you're right in that Sekiro's whole progression system isn't necessarily perfect. I should have clarified that I meant its system of upgrading your health and attack was perfect. Some tweaking would have to be done to allow multiple weapons, armor, and more, of course, but it'd still work better in a game like Elden Ring than attributes, imo.
Like I said, equipment limitations and general tastes would still lead to varied builds. It just wouldn't be restricted based on how many points you put into this one stat without knowing what weapons there even were in the game. It would also make balancing easier, since devs would only have one scaling stat to balance around instead of a dozen. "This weapon's physical attack scales this much with the player's Attack Level, while it's magic attack scales this much." It would also make it easier to balance the open world when you can know for certain the max power level any player can be at a certain point without having to worry about grinding. You would probably see more build variety since they'd maybe have time to balance some weapons to not be so OP and some to be so weak.
I don't think most people find enjoyment out of putting a certain number of points in a certain category. I think most people enjoy finding cool weapons and spells to use together, sometimes to fit a theme or sometimes to fit just what they think is fun or cool. I think most people would prefer a system that encourages you to make builds based around that instead of min maxing and number crunching. Even if you try to design builds casually in any of the Soulsborne games, I think most people still feel drawn to trying to optimize whenever they have a hard time, because it's hard to shake the feeling sometimes that you're doing something wrong. I think trying to eliminate that and pare the game down so that the player only feels, "I just need to practice and get better" can only be a good thing.
@@SteelBallRun1890 that's not a bad thing, it's perfecting a certain game mechanic which you can't do with build variety.
First
Watching this now .. I have no idea how I beat him 😂.. seems impossible
But is actually easy .
I genuinely did him first try
Years of playing these games tho I ain't just a nobody I know the dance
Please tell him to stop spamming block please
Please react to sekiro: shadows dance twice
The fact that your character barely damages ennemies but they somehow take your whole health bar in one shot makes the fighting extremely silly looking -
Personnally there's a limit to internal consistency I can ignore before I'm pulled out
This game is about not doing damage but instead about doing enough damage that the boss's posture bar fills up easier so you can then break said posture for an instant kill. Also bosses don't have 10x healing items and up to 3 rezzes midfight which I think evens it out just a tad ;)
This has always been the case with video games though...
@@shanedsouza189 Exactly lol. This is one of those weird comments where they really had to reach for something to criticize about the game.
you're not supposed take away their health, you're supposed to build up their posture through deflects and counter strikes so you can then give them a deathblow.
