- Captain Paul Lanzilotta speaks to the press aboard aircraft carrier USS GERALD R FORD (CVN 78) at sea off the Virginia coast on March 9, 2021. Lanzilotta took over from Captain J. J. "Yank" Cummings on February 12, 2021 and is continuing the FORD's rigorous test and development program.
Lanzilotta spoke about work to make the last four advanced weapons elevators fully operational, progress with various systems and how the FORD is preparing for shock trials in summer 2021. Strike Fighter Squadron 122 was aboard ship carrying out flight operations as Lanzilotta spoke from his day cabin, and the roar from Super Hornet jets passing nearby as they landed aboard ship is distinctly heard.
The cabin's decor, designed by ship's sponsor Susan Ford, daughter of the carrier's namesake, is replete with numerous mementos of President Ford's life.
Oh how I missed this channel
The people that operate at this level are truly impressive. So many moving parts. Peace through strength. Many thanks indeed.
you're easily impressed.
Go forward, America! Long live the Nato! Long live freedom! Down with all dictatorships and terrorists all around the world! Best wishes from Germany!
Wow this CO knows how to talk to media! He is great!
Mid April 2021 .. Still not certified for Combat, so when do you understand you are being played?!! Buy the US Navys own words it was supposed to be certified and on combat deployment in 2018...

Sounds like Chris Cavas, not Vago
Welcome back Vago. Hopefully this past year hasn't been too stressful.
Is Vago back??
You back on the road, Vago?
Gee Captain when will the Ford be certified for operational combat deployment, or will you be the fifth skipper of the Ford which is still not certified. Without certification your Not deployable.
Looks like they definitely got the right guy for the job. Semper Fi Sir.
Your back !! Channel deserves 1m subs
One clever man. Full respect to you sir.
They are not going to tell you what there going to do..,.🤔
Any Captain must be brilliant
When the Ford able to launch and land aboard?
Vagos, where ya been?
Nice to be the Captain!
You think that just happens? That’s 25plus years of experience, hard work, leadership & continuing education.
Projective power
Yes I worked in this compartment, it is on the starboard side of the ship at frame 220 directly below the island house. The captain has two portholes and one in his stateroom. He has his own chef in the galley right beside his bed.
If the captain of the ship wasn’t wearing a mask….I wouldn’t either.
Oh you would, there'd be hundreds of petty officers to make sure you understood!
Still, no question if the cats can be cross-connected. Same for the areemsting system.
How exactly do you cross connect magnets? LoL 😂
