    As to why he didn't lawyer up. Most people don't realize they need to lawyer up when the police start asking questions.
    One of several reasonings may be going through a person's head.
    1) If I ask for a lawyer, I'm admitting guilt
    2) Maybe if I explain things properly, I'll get out of all this mess.

      I know one guy had suspicious equipment in his car, and wanted to go for a ride with the decoy, presumably to kill them and record it or something. But yeah, it'd weird how these guys don't come armed or anything, even if it's just with a pocket knife or something. I skimmed through some of CinnamonToastKen's reactions, and at one point he said that he guys don't tend to be criminal-minded. They have some internal rationale for what they do, so they think they can explain or lie their way out of being caught red-handed.
      For the predator in this video, his uncle was there as head of security, and all he told the predator the best he could do is keep quiet and just get in the car. But instead, he kept making excuses and fumbling over himself, which naturally makes your case worse ("right to remain silent", "your words can and will be used against you", and things like that).

      That actually is why it ended. One of the people they caught was a HUGE figure compared to most of the nobodies this show dealt with before. They were a District Attorney from Texas and he took the bait with what he thought was a little boy. He caught on in what was happening and didn’t go to the bait house and as a result, Chris Hansens team rushed the process and sent police to his house and the attorney decided to game end himself as a result. It was such a monumental mess up from his team that it resulted in the cancellation as a result

    Hard disagree, making non offending pedophiles feel terrified to come forward and get help only increases the chance they are going to eventually snap and offend, we’ve known for a long time that punishment does not deter behavior, ppl still steal in places where it’s the death penalty or they get thier hands chopped off. As far as I’ve seen pedophiles who are able to seek therapy and help are less likely to offend

    • @Storse
      @Storse Рік тому

      Yea, which is why Im not really a fan of pedo hunting shows and UA-cam content. It doesn't serve to deter the behaviour and can sometimes make it so that the people who were caught in the act can't be charged.

    • @flarestorm9417
      @flarestorm9417 Рік тому +2

      Eh... I sort of disagree. While I can recognize some people have this as a mental illness, you don't want people using that as an excuse. When people are caught doing terrible things (predatory behavior, cheating, etc.), they'll often say "I have depression", "I was in a dark place", etc. If you give people an out to blame their problems on something else, they'll usually take it. And when people don't take accountability, they tend to double down and not recognize (or not care about) how horrible their actions actually are. And you know, there are those that simply are evil and just don't care, no matter how many chances they have to do the right thing. Jared Fogle, Austin Jones, Ian Watkins... all terrible predators that were just plain horrible people in general. These guys are more extreme cases of course, but you can't look at those men and claim they were just "poor victims with mental health problems." And even then, your mental health may not be your fault, but it is your responsibility.
      These confrontations act as deterrents of bad behavior. And heck, these guys are lucky that worse didn't happen to them, because it easily could have (e.g., meeting an angry dad with a shotgun instead of Chris Hansen). Sure, the law is a duality of punishment and reform, and some people can take things too far, but don't shy away from applying consequences simply because some pedophiles are more sorry than others. Sure, there will always be people that try their luck despite the major consequences of getting caught, but that's not an excuse to go super-soft on crime (see California for an example of that). Besides, your medical history is private, and you won't be detained unless you're a threat to yourself and/or others. No one's going to know unless you tell them, generally speaking.

    Pdf files are the worst thing to become popular on the Internet. They're stupid and hard to work with, and usually don't follow instructions. If they were to be deleted off the face of the planet, i'd be glad. Peace would come and all would be well. This is just my and everyone elses opinion tho, so If you disagree with me or want to add to the conversation, leave a reply down below. Just remember, don't be a pdf file, be a parent file AND protect the child files.

    I feel like people are watching this show with the wrong mindset, driving fear into the pedophiles Hearts isn't the goal, the goal of the show was to bring awareness to the issue of internet predators to protect kids. The way we actually fix the problem is by discouraging them from touching kids but also encouraging them to go seek therapy if they feel that desire the ones that offend lock them in jail yes but Rehabilitation should always be the goal even if it isn't achievable for everyone. Putting TOO much fear into their hearts can drive them into their Shadows where they can get away with it if they do offend.

    There are some perfect clips of specific Predators getting tazed. At least a handle full of them I've watched happen in compilations from TCaP. The funniest and most satisfying one was one pedo leaving cuz he got nervous and suspicious. Came back like the dummy he already proved he was, runs out, just to be tazed seconds later. 😆 🤣

    Showing pedos getting caught and arrested does not deter child abuse. It only encourages them to hide their behavior more vehemently. Public punishment is not the crime deterrent you think it is.

    Most predatory people, like pedophiles, rapists, serial killers, and others that seek out victims. Usually these people work near or close their intended victims. Like, most serial killers are highly intelligent people, usually having a higher IQ than the average person. They will usually though work in a profession beneath their education and IQ. Choosing a profession that gives them access to people, so they can easily find victims. Such as a plumber, mechanic, pest control, even being a nurse, some type of profession that allows them into your life and property. That's why you need to be very mindful of the people you allow around you and your family. Predators will use your good nature and trust against you.

    I had a feeling if he hadn’t sent anything explicitly sexual then he was just going to get charged for trying to smoke weed with a minor. I do believe in people getting second chances but it just seems like a lot of times even after going to prison these sick fucks just immediately try to pray on children again. I guess the only true rehabilitation is a wood chipper.

    Ugh, I can't stand today's climate, activists that come up with terms like 'Minor Attracted Person' to try and destigmatize pedos. If To Catch a Predator was airing today I bet he'd have been cancelled by Twitter. Permanently online idiots seem to be far more interested in protecting fictional characters from 'lolicons' than actual minors from actual predators.
    Frankly, I've been holding out hope that the act of (publicly) shaming disgusting behaviour makes a grand return over the coming years.

    You may have been scared by the one where the predator died but there some background you may find entertaining or interesting.
    That episode is why TCAP had to shut down. Basically they were doing a sting but when the predator sent the decoy pictures it turned out he was THE CHIEF PROSECUTOR OF THE NEIGHBORING COUNTY. Like, the guy who decides who gets charged with crimes. Him. He killed himself as they approached and the family sued stating the police violated normal procedure and exhibited excess force to look good for the cameras. They settled out of court and a condition was that TCAP get shut down.

    What I'm about to say is information not suited for the squeamish or sensitive so I'm putting this warning here now please don't read more if you don't want to know. If you do choose to read more, please do take care of yourselves and please stop reading if you feel to uncomfortable.
    Back in 2014 when I was in sixth grade I had a teacher whom seemed really nice. His name was Eric J. Babbitt, I often went back to my elementary school when I was in seventh grade in high school to talk to him because he was easy to talk too. It wasn't until later after moving around a few years I found out about him and his lover committing a murder suicide pact thing, when looking into it I found out him and his lover have been recording each other having their way with other kids. When I found out, I realized that when I was going back to talk to him I was putting myself at risk like the others. It scares me to think about what could've happened, and I feel sorry for all the other boys at the time whom fell victim to his facade. I know this might be rough to read for some, but I just had to speak after watching. I'm sorry for those who read this if you feel uncomfortable now and I wish you all the best.
