My next door neighbor had that exact same 2002 Escalade brand new. This was at my college apartment and the old man had just moved in because his house was too difficult for his wife on hospice to be cared for properly or something. So they'd rented a first floor apartment for her because it was easier. My dad had a loaded 2002 Tahoe and I still thought this Cadillac was insane.
I build them and by far they are the nicest full size suv in the market by far especially sport 2 with the executive pkg !! 450 miles of range !! Quiet fast four wheel steering suspension is amazing and the automatic closing doors wow say less my guy

GM has had brake problems as far back as 1988. My friend bought a 1988 Black C-10 short bed (beautiful truck) any way at highway speed under light braking the rear wheels would lock up and not release He had to get rid of the truck because they could not fix it. C-8 corvette stopped production because of brake issues as well as Cadillac.
I bought a new 1986 Chevy S-10. Drove off the lot and a block later had no brakes. Back to dealer and 2 days later said fixed. Drove off lot and one block later no brakes. Back to dealer and 2 days later said fixed. Drove off lot and two blocks later no brakes. Back to dealer who promptly refunded my purchase in full. Never touched a Chevy again.
I have my dad's one owner 2004 Escalade. 80K real miles on it. These years look great. The engine is the best part. Very smooth at 90 MPH. Engine reputation for lasting a long time. The rest of the car is typical GM quality. Not the best. Expensive blend door problems, power seat problems, mediocre interior quality, front diff replaced at 9K miles, suspension auto level problems. If I was to choose today, I would go for a Lexus GX with its much better quality.

You always wanna have a plan B for as much as possible in life. So Any car you plan on keeping for a decade or more if you can, if you have the storage space, BUY another copy of what your driving for parts. Its great insurance if you have a minor dammage then you can just take the parts off the other car. No waiting for an expensive body shop. Practice taking apart the parts car 1st. Car shield insurance? Forgetabouit. Flat tire? Not much of a proplem. Its just a ton more automotive freedom. Can't have enough of that freedom. So hoovie shoulda bought that escalade at that auction.
That guy will own the Riptide Blue EXT for a loooooong time at $50k now that it topped out at $34k on BAT. Wait him out Hoovie, in 6 months he'll be begging you for that $40k offer and you can counter at $38k, saying you should have taken $40k when you had the chance. Channel your best Ed Bolian!

But it seems like so many videos have negative titles centered on electric vehicles, i.e. "Here's what Hoovie hates." I respect your love of the combustion engine. I don't own an electric vehicle either, and know that you often try to balance views by stating what can be good about electric vehicles. But establishing (via title/thumbnail) the expectation of a negative video at the outset makes me personally less likely to watch it. I was a regular viewer of both channels for quite some time, but I have stopped watching videos with negative titles and the word "electric" in the title from both channels solely for this reason, and no other. Still subscribed as I'm hoping the content will shift back to something more positive in general. Discussing electric cars on occasion, even negatively or examining fails is certainly justified. Farming that content for clickbait ... well I don't see your analytics. If it's working, then my opinion is the minority!
