Hi was there too and loved and found the house very cozy and welcoming and the guides were so sweet and helpful ,loved the gift shop too ,was cute ,thanks for sharing ,
My mother gave that book for Christmas one year & I loved it so much & I purchased all the dvd of this movie. I actually have it out right now on my tv stand. I watch it at least once a week👍😀
This was so interesting! I just read Little Women a few weeks ago for the first time, and didn't know it was written about them. I just spent a while looking stuff up on Wikipedia about them. What a strange life they had. Thanks for sharing!
Pretty cool ! Shame you couldn't show the inside of the house. Got a quick flash of the Hawthorne house, loved the wind around porch. Mass. has some great historical places. I regret that we didn't take more time exploring instead of hitting up the baseball games .( my Tigers were in town ) . We went to go to a toy auction, and again for the Big E. Thanks for sharing, your the best !.......Rhino
I don’t understand no videos or photos. I’ve been to so many historic homes and never ran into any restrictions like that. Since I live in Hawaii and I’m unlikely to make a trip to concord Massachusetts, I would love to see a video tour of the house. Maybe that’s what it is about… that they sell a video tour on DVD or something? Oh my gosh… just realized how old this video is.
I had never heard of the "mood" pillow. My middle daughter and I began joking about getting my oldest daughter a "mood" pillow (she probably wouldn't think it funny).
Love your video. The reason no pics and video in such places is probably because it would be on UA-cam. People wouldn't pay to see it and that's how they pay for the upkeep on the house...
musicaltheatergeek79 exposure to flash photography over time can damage the artifacts. Even if you tell people not to use flash, some still will, so it's easier just to have a "no photography" policy across the board.
Thank you so much for sharing! Little Women is my favorite book and I can't wait to go Orchard House.
+ChloeMarie D Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoy Orchard House when you go. 🙂
Your author travel vlogs are wonderful! Love this!
Orchard House is absolutely on my bucket list to see! I hope you had a wonderful time!!!

Loved this! Even though we couldn't see inside the house your descriptions and enthusiasm were just as great!
Awww thank you so much - I wish I could've showed you the inside too!

Haha, I'm sure most families could do with a mood pillow every now and then. 😉
This is so, so cool - I wish I could go, so thanks for sharing :) Sounds like she had a fascinating life
Thanks! 😊 I loved seeing Manchester and Bath through your literary vlogs - bookish travels are the best!
Agreed - and I really enjoy seeing other people's travels on Booktube :)
Thank you for sharing! I have the new annotated Little Women, but haven't had a chance to read it yet. I hope to visit Orchard House someday.
+iri2be Hope you enjoy Little Women - Orchard House is a lovely place to visit!
What a neat trip!! Do they still keep up the garden plots in the warmer seasons? Everything looked pretty gray in the cold there :)
+Elizabeth Tyree I believe they do - I'll bet it's even more beautiful when everything is green!
That would be so neat! I'd love to take a tour in the spring...as long as I took an allergy pill first because can you imagine the pollen?? Phew

+Lyn Baez (Ohlalalynnie) The Little Women books are all so good! 😊
I love this video and your channel 😊
Orchard House is so charming!
+Audra “mod lyn” Monzon 😊
How fun. 😊❤️
My dream is to see that house..
Cool.
Not many there, you’d expect it to be crowded like Haworth
How come you can't take pictures of the inside of the house? I don't think I caught the explanation.
It was just the museum rule - some museums don't let you take photos or videos of the exhibits.

Im definitely a mix of Beth and Jo
Does it cost money to tour it? I only live a few hours away. I could make a day trip.
Yes, you did have to buy a ticket to go inside! I think it was about $10 or so...
Is this the house she grew up in?
No, the family moved several times, Louisa moved to this house when she was 25.
