I ordered pinon seal for my w202 c180 from 1997 from Autodoc, I got the same seal you have, but turns out it dosent fit my diff som had to get from dealership instead. Just be aware, i would reccomend to dissasemble and then order what looks alike.

Thanks for your comment. You cant really just go on what things look like, especially with seals as they can change shape. You need to either:
      1. Phone dealership with your chassis number etc
      2. Look at a site like mb-teilekatalog.info/ to find the part number

Hi Mike. I am in Uruguay and I need to remove that nut to change the gasket but I cannot get here the part that you use to remove it, the one from the Laser 4846 set. I have to manufacture it and if it were possible to know the measure of that element. I have a W123 240D and I think it is the same one that you use, the A or the E that could be used for the use of the W123 could be used, although the length only varies. If you can, I am interested in knowing the external circumference measurement, the height measurements and especially the width and height measurements of the parts that fit the nut. Thank you

Hello - I will measure the dimensions later today and get back to you. I just spoke to Laser Tools and they have discontinued that part. You can still get these sets on eBay - I think ebay item number 163690739972 would work for you. Mike

Hi Mike. Thank you and I hope your kindness to pass me the measurements. The problem is the delay time to receive a purchase. I already have the car on supports and without the cardan. I'm not a mechanic, I'm just a hobbyist and buying a set of parts doesn't justify me. I think it would be the measure of what you used in the video, A. Greetings@@MikesMercsandothercars

Hello if you send me an email to m_scott65@hotmail.com I will email you with a short video showing all the dimensions of the castellated socket. Mike

Congrats on almost finishing the car :)
In the end how did you proceed with the nut torque ? Those special sockets don't seem to be capable of handling 200Nm

Hello - I haven’t torqued up the nut yet - I have decided to put some non setting jointing compound on the seal just in case the inside of the diff case isn’t perfectly smooth - just waiting for it to arrive. Have you used a castellated docket before and had problems? Mike

@@MikesMercsandothercars I haven't had any problems with seals on my dif, but I was asking for my curiosity. 200Nm just seem a lot for some small pins to handle. I also have the hayens workshop manual, but sometimes it is not thorough enough. This bit of information is one of the cases.
Some silicone sealant would do the trick in my opinion.

@@livium2002 I agree 200Nm does seem alot. Got to be really careful about using Silicon sealant around cars. On my wifes Audi A4 someone had used silicon to seal the oil pan. The silicon eventually breaks down and ends up in the oil. On that car it clogged the oil pick up causing a 2-3k damage - common issue apparently when silicon is used. I'll be using non setting Hylomar Universal Blue. Mike
