A few things you got wrong: The yeerks cannot infest ANY living organism - They can't enter into anything smaller than themselves in slug form and the host has to have a brain capable of being melded into and controlled. This cancels out a lot of organisms. Also, Visser three is not the leader of the yeerks - he is specifically in charge of the Earth invasion. He has higher ups in charge of him including Marcos mother who was later mentioned. A controller isn't just a HUMAN possessed by a yeerk, it is ANY living thing being controlled by a yeerk including other alien races. Other than that, pretty spot on. Finally - I don't know what happened with the movie thing, BUT recently there has been a slow releasing of the books in graphic novel form by Chris Grine. It's a FANTASTIC depiction of the series and I recommend it to any fan.
Just came here to say, how freaking awesome would an Animorphs, RPG video game be!?!? Having to go around collecting morphs and demolishing Yeerk pools with your friends!!! You'd have to stealth morph so you didn't reveal your identity and become a controller... We can dream I guess but what a dream it would be, sigh...!!
The only problem I have with this review, is the understanding of the word Prince. It's a military rank, not mark of royalty. And it's actually basically the equivalent of a military Private. Elphangor was well decorated, and would basically be the equivalent of a Private First Class. Above that there is the War Prince (like a Captain), and thier Captain (More akin to a General). So Ax isn't the younger brother of THE andalite prince. He is the equivalent of a Cadet, and young brother to a Prince, but again, not as we would typically think of a prince.
@@KingKasper To be fair, that whole thing is confusing. And it becomes more confusing with Ax calling Jake, "Prince Jake". But yeah, otherwise, great explanation of the series.
I just realized that Animorphs and Power Rangers have a nearly identical premise, with a few mild differences. The tone and themes may be different but the concept is nearly the same.
This video was great. I seriously always knew I knew of this show but I couldn’t tell you names, villains, characters, plot lines nothing. All of that was so vague but I knew it existed and I knew of the books cause the covers were so cool. This was a great synopsis. I still don’t remember any of the details but it was cool seeing this. Cool vid. Ps.... their probably going to destroy the movie. Why do they pick up movies to then go against the creators of the stories visions (creative differences 🤦🏽♀️). I mean it’s so dumb.
Facts they probably will mess up the movie especially since the creators are no longer involved! But maybe they’ll surprise us and make something dope out of this amazing franchise. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏽
ty for the video, there has been a lot of resurgence lately of the series. If you wanted to know, Grant had a few interviews where he explained that the studio was not taking their advice so they decided that if they weren't going to be taken seriously and kept out of the loop for some decisions (the broken straw being who was going to be the lead writer) then it would be better if they didn't have their name attached. This is the same studio that produced the first hunger games currently is developing the movie. Unfortunately as Katherine Applegate and Michael Grant admit, the biggest mistake was not originally claiming the rights of the books or the show could have been handled by them and they would have more input on a potential movie. I have read all books 2ce and occasionally breeze through some of my favorites if the mood strikes but it was such an immersive story that did not pull punches on account that its audience was children-teens and this is why there was outrage by the dark ending.
Despite being born on this century I grew up with a lot of 90's cartoons, and still have no recolection of this series. Still, I came up with a very similar idea for a story! Sci-fi (and fantasy) animorph human-like aliens in a war, ft. teens! :D
YES!!!!! I just did a video about the Animorphs tv show too! You should go check it out! Animorphs UNITE. Wait, wrong show. Whatever haha. Awesome video! Animorphs was LIFE as a kid.
imma blow yall mind. so check it out. tobias is Aximilis nephew. tobias mother was the yeerk who discovered earth and eventually became visser one. shes the yeerk that eventually inhabits marcos mother and his father was elfangor. at some point e;fangor and visser one in a human body do the nasty and have tobias. though for obvious reaosns they cant stay together and raise him which is how he ended up living with his grandparents. Elfangor is aximilis brother and the one who gave the animorphs their powers in the first place. its why tobias and ax feel a connection. they are family. Ax is Tobias' uncle and they NEVER COVER IT that shit makes me so mad.
I remember reading the books in elementary school in the mid to late 2000s, I thought that story was so cool, managed to get the tv show on dvd, thought Marco was cool asf but the tv show's ending was very confusing and disappointing. Then I got into Star Wars and Wrestling, only to in the last few years find out how dark the ending to Animorphs was.
@@KingKasper haha absolutely. I used to love watching "Goosebumps", "Are you afraid of the dark?", "The secret world of Alex Mack" and many more. Good times.
Grant doesnt get the credit he deserves for the animorphs. He handled the 'war" aspect. She took care of the "animal" aspect. Which one sticks with you longer?
I was a late bloomer. That's what I call it. When you get into popular things. After it becomes popular. It is a good book and tv show. What happened to the show?
I think the show just eventually fizzled out it concluded and Anna Morrison never really popped off again, but who knows. Maybe one day we'll get a reboot or a Netflix movie
The Faculty, an Elijah Wood mov8e from the 90's has a plot about alien mind parasites from an ocean world that take over a school in Ohio and are opposed by school students was obviously influenced by this book/TV series.

I've succeeded in animorphing into a panda. Damn covid years.

A nothlit is not a language. It is a person who got trapped in a morph, like Tobias.
Clearly I need to consult animorph experts before I drop a video
Awesome video! Those book covers were legendary 🔥🔥

Yo that would be crazy. Especially with today's VR technology
They made one on PlayStation 2
They made one on game boy color. It plays like pokemon
