Taz, you are so beautiful, and you have helped me so much! Im 70 & just was tired of coloring my hair...so yes, i jumped into wigs 100%. I wish u could have seen all my friends' faces in Sunday School & church when I walked in! Ha, they loved it & couldnt believe i wd actually take the jump! But i have to tell u something that happened that was hilarious. My family went to this little safari farm where animals stick their heads into your car to be fed. Well, one donkey i was feeding decided to take my wig with his food! Yep! Pulled it right off my head! But i grabbed it back & we all had a good laugh. Well, now it's all over town! Ha! I'm a crazy redhead so no one was surprised! Just had to share this with u! Love u! Polly from Newton, MS.
I only recently found your channel and have been enjoying many of your videos👍 Your absolutely gorgeous!!💕and love your inthusiasm!👌 the way you review all those wigs makes it fun too! lol thank you for providing us with such useful information, your a gem❤ keep smiling!! 😀
Love that idea for the blanket scarf on your hair!! Great idea! Always learn something valuable from your videos. Love all your wigs!! They are beautiful! I am in love with wigs because of great people like you!
Thank you Taz! These are wonderful ways to tame and protect our pieces. I learned the hard way what can happen when wind hits--it had nothing to do with a wig being blown off or falling off, it was the fact that your eyes can be seriously damaged when those synthetic fibres whip at your eyes. I had that happen to me. A fibre--and they are much more coarse than our own bio hair--whipped across my eye and scratched my cornea. That was painful. I had to wear a patch over that eye for a week to heal it. Loved all your ideas! Also consider bobby pins and clips. I carry both in my purse just in case a squall catches me. That cute winter hat you put on is my winter favorite. I make hats like that. So naturally I also make a summer version that is light and thin, but stylish and gets the job done. Loved the skinny head band--i remember wearing those (made out of beads) in the 70's and early 80's and now their coming back in style. They stop all hair traffic and keeps it secure. One more idea is to use a kerchief or bandana--these are amazing because they've never went out of style and can be used in countless ways. I have a bandana always with me as well. They are so stylish and chic, with so many ways to style them. Go to https.//www.fashionlady.in and search 'Funtastic Bandana Hairstyles You Must Try at Least Once". This is one of my favorites. Your video thumbnail is priceless! 😘
Sideburns always present some challenges on windy days. I also wear visors in the summer both to protect from the sun and keep things grounded, so to speak. If I’m going to be doing something physical or I know there will be possibly damaging winds I have some older wigs that I don’t mind if they get messed up. Even visors and head bands can do a bit of damage so I keep that all in mind to choose what I’ll be wearing. Thanks always, Taz for your advice and reviews. You’re one if the hardest working women on UA-cam 🙂🌻 Can’t wait till you get to that 100k+ subscribers. I know it’s going to happen! 😘❤️
Heheheheh, I love what you said about gone with the wind ! I live in the desert and we have wind here a lot of the time ! These are great tips and are so needed ! I've done outdoor dance performances with a wig on in the wind. That can be very interesting to say the least ! You are an angel, Taz ! I wish you a very blessed week to come !
Thank you Cynthia! I love the desert.. my favorite climate. You would need plenty of glue to get through that dance...lol! I bet you were beautiful. XOXO
100% agree, use “It Stays” on forehead plus toupee clips like the ones you showed, two, one on each side of wig tag at the neck nape for over 20 years in all sorts of windy weather!
GREAT ideas! That thin elastic band is brilliant. That can easily be taken on and off without having to restyle your hair. And easy to carry in a purse. Thanks for sharing all your tips!
Such Fantastic information Taz!! Love Love your tips!! You look completely adorable in all of your wigs Sweet Friend!! You are just Amazing!! Love XOXOX!
Thank youTaz… What a beautiful set of ideas… Thank you for putting all this together… I was at the Niagara Falls once when it was extremely windy and all I had was a hooded sweatshirt… I did not know about adding moisture later so thank you for that idea as well… You are such a jewel..... thank you. 🦋🦋
Hey, Taz, another great video! Super tips! Thanks so much for all the links too! Can’t wait to use them!😉 Hope all is well with you and your Mom. Enjoy! Love & Hugs, Mary xoxo
Lovely..wonderful ideas..yeah I love ItStays..awesome stuff..lol...I love Dolce on you..the pink cap looks adorable..I love your Sonoma with the squareband..really cute...great video...xxox
You're the best!! Could you please do a video with the best wigs for baseball caps? High pony, low pony, side pony, side bun, braid, side braid, etc. Many wigs are too thick for baseball caps and feel so heavy. Thanks so much!
Hi Taz This was very interesting. I always think about the wind blowing off my wig and I can laugh "a little" now yet when I first started wearing wigs I was so afraid it would blow off. Now that I find that I have a good fix or apply a little of the glue I fill confident it won't blow off. So enjoyed all of the idea's you have given they are very helpful. Hope you are getting warmer weather now it will to be coming very soon now. Hasn't been a very warm winter here in Florida this winter either. Now this week we are getting nice weather love the sunshine! I am looking forward to going home to the Pittsburgh area in May to see all my children and grand baby's plus getting a new grandson in June now so exciting! I just love them all so much. It's to long to be away from them for me my husband not so much. Have a great week I am sending sun shine and warmer weather your way. ❤
Awwww... it's so great to be away from the harsh winters, but I understand you get homesick for your loved ones. It wont be long! Enjoy Patty:-) XOXOXO
What timing Taz! I’m going on a cruise in June and I’m not sure how I will secure my wig. It’s going to be hot so I don’t want to wear a hat. The visor may be good. I’m concerned that the wefting will show in the wind. I wear short styles so I’m not sure what will work best. If you have anymore suggestions on how I might feel secure I would appreciate it. Also do you have any suggestions on a short cool wig with little permatease. Thanks so much Taz, Angie💕
I love your videos especially your amazon links to the products you use! This is extremely helpful and saves a lot of time searching for the right one you suggest! Please keep your videos coming. They are invaluable!
I like the visor. I have a few of those and never thought about wind damage! With longer wigs, I like the bun idea. I find the wig grip to be sufficient to anchor my wigs firmly and own them in several colors. I have to admit, I would be one to wear my hand-tied wigs on a windy day, for fear of weft exposure. Better to wear a visor or use a clip. It Stays scares me a little -- worried that my own hair will be yanked out but I will take your word for it. I own a bottle, just in case. Great idea for a video. I absolutely have to get a Dolce -- I have been eyeing it for years. So cute. xo
Great tips as I'm trying to figure out something to feel secure when going sailing... you are so unbelievably cute and pretty any wig would be grateful to be worn by you!
I found It Stays on Patti’s Pearls the other day so rapidly invested in it. Although I should add that if it’s very windy unless it’s really necessary to go out. The first thing that I got with my first was a wig grip but since my own hair is so fine and it was fairly long apart from the thinning area the wig stay just slipped off. Since then, I’ve clipped my hair to about 1/2 inch since it makes things much easier for me especially with wigs.
How can I secure my wig when swimming? Both the ocean and a pool. I plan to use a synthetic wig for this that matches my natural hair wig. It is 22 inches long.
Wow who said you could be so cute lol🥰 so that little hard headband you showed, how does it differ from the traditional plastic headbands? I see that the arms on that one bend but are there other features that make it better then the regular style ones?
Thanks so much! My fave headbands are Sqhairbands, link in description box for easy access. The one featured here, I cannot remember where it came from, etc. XOXO
I have a question that relates to windy days. I don't have a problem with securing my wig, instead I have a question about concealing the sides of my hair that aren't covered by the ear tabs. What do you do when your hair is a different color from your wig and the blowing wind shows that part of your bio hair? BTW, you have the perfect face for ANY wig. EVERYTHING looks good on you, much better than the models that advertise the wigs for the manufacturer!!
Thanks so much SuAnn! I am not bothered by the amount of natural hair escaping the ear tabs.. but if you have a lot of it and it's windy, a wider headband covering the upper ear and ear tab might do the trick! Many blessings, XOXO
Sonoma! Love mine for summer. I cracked up when I saw that thumbnail. I've wanted to try the It stays. For lace fronts, I use a bit of Got2beglued. It's so windy here, I use good old Aquanet hair spray, a lot of it. I know it's hard on the fibers, but it's either helmet head, or I look like I crawled out of a cave. Hats are good, too, as long as they fit pretty tightly. You're so right about putting moisture on your wig after being in the wind. Have you ever tried TDI Silicon K fiber soft? It's a good product to combat the dryness and frizzies, especially when combined with a bit of gentle steam heat. You do such a great job of covering important information that wig wearers should know. Very helpful.
I wind tested my wig with Stay On....60 mph winds...the wig never budged. I also use a glue gel that is used for spiking hair...It is by "Got To Be" and it is called gel glue. I got that tip from another wig reviewer. It is alot cheaper and it works just as well.
I've always liked those visors but had to wear full hats when outdoors because my thin hair would cause my fair skin to sunburn in just a few minutes. Now to interrupt my constant wig researching to find the perfect visor! 😂
Thanks for sharing this!! Im a first time wig wearer and have been binge watching all your videos.. I have a question.. I bought some of what you suggested, the It Stays.. Im worried to use it.. My real hair is very fine and very thin .. I was wondering how hard it is to wash that out and too.. Does it damage your real hair?? Everything I read about gluing wigs down say that if we "glue" them down, that it can damage your own hair.. I also bought another suggestion of yours, the wig grips .. So Im not sure what to use lol.. I only have one wig and so far I LOVE it and want to buy more.. But I also dont want to damage my own hair.. Do wigs hurt our hair or help protect the hair so it grows better?? Thanks for all your videos! You've been a LIFE SAVOR
Hello! It Stays is super gentle, but has a strong hold. When you go to remove the wig, dab water on the areas that has the it stays and it should come off with ease and no damage to scalp or hair. XOXO
The wig I am wearing is Rene Of Paris Sonoma, but its discontinued. A good substitute is Envy Kelsey shown here ua-cam.com/video/L7wW0-0edkw/v-deo.html XOXO
I wish you'd do a video styling Dulce. I've never been able to wear mine out! It has little to zero curl and it just looks like a helmet on my head. I usually get silver or very ashy blondes, but I do like Chocolate Frost too. I got Dulce in Chocolate Frost. I'm sad I can't wear it out. I'm in into helmets that hang in my eyes lol I can't figure out how to really keep the bangs out of my face! Ugh. I have $29 wigs I love and hate this Dulce. Of course it doesn't help that I got it within a week of getting Editor's Pick in Shaded Biscuit!! What a beaut!
@@TAZSWIGCLOSET do you think it's the wig or colors that are different? I mean will all chocolate Frost be similar? Or do you think it's totally random? Are they helmet like because of permatease or would thinning help? Thinning and fat hot rollers?
Thanks for the tips, Taz. What moisturizing conditioner do you use on your wigs after being exposed to the drying wind? I didn't see one listed. Thanks.
Hi Taz👋, I am at a TOTAL LOSS at what TYPE of conditioning spray or silicone spray I am supposed to use on synthetic wigs(AND WHEN) as an all around daily type spray. What kind do you use ? PLEEEEASE be specific and where you find it because I don’t have s CLUE what people are talking about. Help me!😩 (Oh- and would also be SO KIND as to explain when you’d choose to use a silicone spray vs a reg conditioning one ? Thanks in advance ❤️ Julie
Hi Julie. Under each video, I have a link my Amazon store and if you go to the link that shows the wig care products I use you will find Simply Stylin Silicon Spray (pink bottle) I rub this into the ends every 4-5 wearings or more if its a long style prone to friction, less if its a short style. I use Jon Renau Conditioning spray, just a light spritz every time I wear the wig for a whole day.. especially in the winter dry months. Hope this helps! www.amazon.com/shop/tazswigcloset
I love your videos! I have very fine blonde hair and would love to try a wig. What would you recommend for me to try first. I really do not want to spend a lot of money for my first one. Thanks Jamie
There are literally hundreds of options. I would start with a style that closest to your own hair style and color (or if you have hair loss, you might go with a style and color you had before the hair loss) and go from there! XOXO
Taz, do you know of any reputable companies that produce an asymmetrical curly wig with an "up-do?" I saw a picture of one that I love, but I think it was on one of those "rip-off" websites. Love your videos--you are a very personable, pretty, and talented lady! Jeri M.
Thank you!! If you are looking for something similar to Rene Of Paris Sonoma, you might look at Envy Kelsey, Envy Harper, Rene Of Paris Talia.. I buy my wigs from namebrandwigs.com, wigstudio1.com and cysterwigs.com, but there are more reputable retailers out there! XOXO
Hi Taz, do you have any tips about how to hide wefts in a wig? I got some Jon Renau's wigs and I can't wear them because I can see wefts at the back. It's very obvious and I really don't know what to do! It's a shame because those wigs are really nice! Thank you
Dear Taz , Could you PLEASE PLEEEEASE recommend your favorite (or even SEVERAL of your favs) synthetic wig conditioner sprays and silicone sprays? *****AND ALSO, would you PLEEEEEASE make a video strictly about conditioning wigs and these leave-in sprays, and silicone ones too. Run thru the diff brands and types you’ve tried and where to get them and compare etc(maybe ?). But mainly, explain WHEN & HOW & HOW OFTEN and WHY to use the products and at LEAST give your FAVORITE PRODUCT LIST for us and WHERE TO BUY? Out of ALLL the videos I’ve seen about wigs, I’ve never found one about this subject so far. Maybe it’s just me. Maybe I’m just stupid and there’s no need for a video so that’s WHY there isn’t one already out there- 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t know. But, I have a lot of questions about the how-to’s of doing it all correctly and I’m crossing my fingers you get this message AND decide it is worth answering. Even if you don’t, I should thank you for doing your other videos- I’ve found them enjoyable and informative. Best wishes to your son and his recovery as well. Sincerely, Julie
Hello! I list most of the wig care products I use in my Amazon store under wig care.. the link is almost always below each video:-) XOXO www.amazon.com/shop/tazswigcloset
I apply It Stays directly to my skin at the hairline. Its water soluable.. gentle. Just don't get it in your natural hair or it will pull when you go to remove the wig. XOXO
@@TAZSWIGCLOSET okay so I just don't put the lace very far back I keep the lace a little forward where my natural hair hasn't started yet is that correct and thank you so much for your response and your time
I don't use glue, so I am not sure! I only use the water soluable adhesive shown in this video.. dabbing water on it releases it and cleans up the scalp without a problem.
I apply directly to the skin without any irritation or issues. Water soluble adhesives will not harm the cap, it may need washed more often, however:-) XOXO
Hi Taz, I’ve been searching for your review of Estetica’s Meg I saw online that someone had attached it to their website but it was video only. Would you be able to send me a link to yours? Thanks!
We call wigs units now. The word wig reminds me of elderly women in church who had no clue how to maintain them so they looked like dead squirrels on their heads😯
Juanita Dempsey I provide photos to HairUWear, maker of the Raquel Welch line. So you may see me on Raquel Welch social media from time to time. The biggest tell is if they’re using my photo and offering a ridiculous low price for a wig. If you send me a link, I’ll check it out💖💖
Wow I really like that one I want that one that's beautiful and looks good on you too
What a great topic! My greatest worry with wigs is wefting showing in the wind. Thanks for this.
There’s always the classic Jackie Kennedy large square scarf tied under the chin too!
So true! XOXO

XOXO
Lots of good ideas! What do you use for silicone spray? I need unscented.
Silicon spray moisturizes the fibers and extends the life of them. XOXO
Hi which wigs are you wearing here, I love them 😊
The wig I am wearing is Rene Of Paris Sonoma, but its discontinued. A good substitute is Envy Kelsey shown here ua-cam.com/video/L7wW0-0edkw/v-deo.html XOXO
Does this apply to riding rollercoasters too? Thx so much! 😎
Weeee! Yes, we might need some extra adhesive! 🎢🎢🎢
HI Dede! Dolce is one of those wigs that if you buy 5 of them, they will all look and act differently. XOXO
Thanks.
Hello! I use a few... Jon Renau Conditioning Spray, Henry Margu Revitalizing mist and Simply Stylin Silk Silicon Spray:-) XOXO
Great tips, especially since I was worried about the wind in Aruba. Is it safe to sew clips into the mesh of hand-tied wigs?
Have fun in Aruba! I am not sure I would do it just because the mesh is where the knotting is and it may cause the hair to seem mishapen... XOXO
Great ideas. Does “it stays” harm the lace front if you use it often?
Hello! I have not had that experience so far! XOXO
Thanks in advance ❤️
Julie
TAZSWIGCLOSET YES YES IT DOES HELP SOOO MUCH!! Thank you 🙏🏻TaZ , SOOOO MUCH!!!💋💋💋
Hi Taz, where can i buy the black head band? the small one
I honestly cannot remember! XOXO
Thank you
You could choose a rooted color as the dark will help disguise wefts, or try wearing a nylon wig cap underneath to help disguise them:-) XO
TAZ do you use a wig cap under tour wigs?
This video may help ua-cam.com/video/Eu4XwLWGdd0/v-deo.html
Question- how do you remove the “ it stays” without tearing the lace, to remove the wig at home?
I apply water to it with my fingers until it releases easily
❤️Thank You❤️
Dear Taz , Could you PLEASE PLEEEEASE recommend your favorite (or even SEVERAL of your favs)
synthetic wig conditioner sprays and silicone sprays?
Sincerely,
Julie
Hello! I list most of the wig care products I use in my Amazon store under wig care.. the link is almost always below each video:-) XOXO www.amazon.com/shop/tazswigcloset
Which wig is this?
Do you add the It Stays on your hair and head, or do you wear a wig grip?
I apply It Stays directly to my skin at the hairline. Its water soluable.. gentle. Just don't get it in your natural hair or it will pull when you go to remove the wig. XOXO
@@TAZSWIGCLOSET okay so I just don't put the lace very far back I keep the lace a little forward where my natural hair hasn't started yet is that correct and thank you so much for your response and your time
My wig doesn't blow off in the wind... But my son said my "things" are showing!!!! (Wefts)...... So what do I do to keep my wefts from showing?
Nothing you can do about wefts.. buy handtied! XOXO
How do I get beach waves on my synthetic heartless wigs ?
You might try a sea salt texturizing spray ua-cam.com/video/B8ixTQHJkrU/v-deo.html
What brand and type of wig cap do you recommend to cover your own hair?
I do not wear wigs caps/liners enough to have a preference, but the Jon Renau nylon wig liners work great! XOXO
How to get glue off so hair and scalp won’t be damaged?
I don't use glue, so I am not sure! I only use the water soluable adhesive shown in this video.. dabbing water on it releases it and cleans up the scalp without a problem.
If you're old like me you just use your reading glasses lol you don't have to invest in headbands 😉😉
I have cheap headbands and they look great. Many I have decorated with beading supplies. They work great.
Do you put the glue directly in the cap or on the skin? And will the glue hurt a lace front cap?
I apply directly to the skin without any irritation or issues. Water soluble adhesives will not harm the cap, it may need washed more often, however:-) XOXO
Hi Taz, I’ve been searching for your review of Estetica’s Meg I saw online that someone had attached it to their website but it was video only. Would you be able to send me a link to yours? Thanks!
I did not own the Meg review... unfortunately it was taken down:-(
What is the wig you’re wearing in this video???
Rene Of Paris Sonoma in Sugar Cane R.. for future reference, I list all the wigs I am wearing in the video and in description box below the video XOXO
You are a beautiful person.
We call wigs units now. The word wig reminds me of elderly women in church who had no clue how to maintain them so they looked like dead squirrels on their heads😯
Hi Taz , I’m seeing ads on Facebook with u representing wigs for Rachel Welch
Are these legit , did u give ur permission ?
Stella
Juanita Dempsey I provide photos to HairUWear, maker of the Raquel Welch line. So you may see me on Raquel Welch social media from time to time. The biggest tell is if they’re using my photo and offering a ridiculous low price for a wig. If you send me a link, I’ll check it out💖💖
What product do u use to condition your wig ( spray?)
jeannie stanley I use Jon Renau conditioning spray or Henry Margu Revitalizing condoning most.
TAZSWIGCLOSET thank you so much for replying back so quickly!
Youre so cute!!
Thank you for the compliments doll! XOXO
Is that a Sonoma?
The short wig she is wearing--the wild one!
Yup! Sonoma is featured in the thumbnail photo and the wig I am wearing in the beginning of the video:-) XOXO
I did not have any success with IT STAYS. It does not stay in the heat and humidity. I like tape.
Sandi B Great info Sandi! 💕💕
