Michael Rooker’s Merle Dixon character should never have died on The Walking Dead for the reasons you described. He would have been a superb heel to keep around for a long time. Not because you like him, but because you love to hate him.
Drove to FL this summer from Chicago, hit one up in Alabama, on way there and on way back. I was impressed, place was jammed both times, and the stores were clean, appeared to be well tan and the lines moved ridiculously fast!! Was so in awe of the place I even bought the kids shirts!! Haha
I always picture Michael Rooker when I read Lew Dollinger. He's my favorite character in the books because he's so clearly a bad guy but he's such a brainy detective that he is unique.
You don't like Indiana Jones and the last crusade? I can understand why a number of people would not like Temple of Doom and Crystal Skull, but I thought Last Crusade got a pass. Maybe my memory is worse than I thought.
Have you ever considered doing an illustrated lord of the rings book like you did with the hobbit? The Tolkien estate is in the hands of the grand children now and seem to be a lot liberal with allowing adaptations of the professor's work (for better or worse) Although it would be a colossal undertaking, would you ever consider it?
Dirty Harry in Magnum Force takes out the vigilante cops because they (or rather one of them) killed his friend. The big problem I had with Magnum Force was Harry's "I hate the damn system, but until someone comes along with changes that make sense, I'll stick with it" statement, which was completely out of character. Dirty Harry, the first movie, was definitely a political film, in the sense it was an expression of the idea, which was believed by a lot of people at the time, and still today, that the system had erred so severely in protecting the guilty, it was victimizing the innocent. I get the feeling that Hollywood types seeing that movie thought, "Eek, that's so FASCIST. We have to make it clear that Harry Callahan isn't actually an icky vigilante." Though of course, in the first movie, he very much is. The "they killed my friend therefore I must take vengeance" plotline was very much a paper-thin justification for Harry doing something so out-of-character as not approving of what the vigilante copes were doing, and therefore moving to wipe them out..
The "Three Jokers" book was mostly mediocre (and I think Black Label is out of continuity anyway). The thing that always bothered me about "Death in the Family" is that Joker beats and bombs Robin to death, and Batman removes his costume so that Jason Todd is found. Joker not figuring out Bruce's ID from that is simple, because he's a madman and doesn't go dwelling on his past because he reinvents himself every day. The best part of "Three Jokers" was when Batman is in the paddywagon with Joker and he says, "Bruce Wayne. Jason Todd. Barbara Gordon. You *know* I *know*. I don't CARE. I'm never going to reveal it. If I did, you'd stop." But that does play too much to the whole "Joker sees himself as the dark reverse of Batman" where it makes too much of Joker as an arch-enemy. The story also reveals that Batman has always known who Joker is since the first week they fought, but he keeps the ID hidden because Joker's wife and kid (thought to be dead) are in witness protection. Again: this is all ignorable as a Black Label story.
I remember voting in the death of Robin. I didn't like the character, he was too smug. I did read the story about them bringing him back. I thought 🤔 the way they did it was pretty interesting, but after that he lost me as anything interesting 🤔. Thanks for another great video Chuck 😁
I've always been torn about Jason Todd. The idea of a Robin who isn't as noble as Dick Grayson was is intriguing, but he needed a redemption arc. And if I recall correctly, didn't he push somebody off a building months before his death? How does he redeem from that? So they were in a catch -22. I don't know the best way out of the Jason Todd mess, but killing him with a fan vote stunt was just tasteless. I wonder how Chuck would have resolved the Jason Todd conundrum had he been brought onto the book a few months prior to "A Death in the Family"?
@@wtk6069 we didn't see him do it, but it's implied that he pushed a diplomat off a balcony for raping a woman I think 🤔. Here's the thing about the vote. I saw Jim Starlin, about a year after. I asked his what they would have done if fans voted for him to live? He said the vote was for him to survive the explosion 💥. He would have died later in the hospital. I'm guessing it was a chance for the fans to save him. What would Chuck do?? That's a great question 😊. Mr. Dixon, what would you have done??

Just about 2 hours left to the premiere:
This is where the fun begins.🥳
In regards to The Joker,I liked in Who's Who when it'll say "Alter Ego: Unknown"

Buc-ee's has a lot of brisket
How juicy is it, and do they have brisket gravy as well? 😋
"Almost got 'im" is TOP NOTCH!👍

Hail Fellowship, hail Chuck, first 😊
Frogee's? Tell me your trolling with that, and if you are I tip my hat. Well played sir.
As a recently converted carnivore, I love Buc-ees jerky as the only snack I allow myself.
You keep me sane.
Buc-ee’s = Wal-Mart mated with Cracker Barrel & had a kid.
There's a place in Nevada like this. The name escapes me.
Arizona Last Stop? It's very similar.
Chuck, love you. Can you go back to saying Gats and Gittens?
I vote for that too🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱

Buc-ee's is to The 4th of July as Yankee Candle is to Christmas.👍🇺🇸🎄

I don't buy Oliver Queen ever getting married, and especially not in a church.
