A subtle thing to note is the fact that both Aizen and Tosen changed their hairstyles after defecting from the Soul Society, but Gin did not. Because he was never truly with Aizen to begin with.
I think that says more about Gin. He was never really hiding who he really was, he let it out for all to see. While Aizen and Tosen were hiding who they really were.
I always thought that it was interesting that Tousen is all about justice and that he was blind. As they say, justice is blind. So I thought it was ironic that when he got eyesight, he failed to be justice anymore.
@@closequarters9926 "Justice is blind" People called it (Justice) blind because no matter who you are, what you are, your goals, your ideology and your past. When you do 1 mistake then fuck your 1 million goodness/kindness that you did, you still deserve to be punished according to justice

"The old captain Tosen would have easily dodged this attack" The moment when Tosen gained eyesight at the cost of his ideals is one of the most ironic Bleach moments that many overlook (pun intended). Thank you for making an analysis on one of the most underrated Bleach characters. I love your videos and I really hope you can keep making them!! Also I'm hyped for Urahara's analysis,my favourite character of the anime! Let's gooo, just 1.4k more subs! You can do it brother!
Awesome to see another great video from you man. Tousen is a really underrated character. He might not have had the flair of Aizen or Gin, but in many ways he was the most three dimensional and fleshed out of the three. His fight with Komamura and Hisagi is one of my absolute favourites. Fantastic analysis!
V Maurya but barely anyone understands him as we all know kubo is he very subtle. Ichigo is a complex character and him finding the balance of his powers isn’t just him tryna get strong it’s very thematic
"If you had lost someone dear to you....and received no justice....then you too would come to hate the world." Woooooow I felt that. Dang that's relatable for me.
Kaname Tousen's DEEP CHARACTER, Backstory, Ideologies and the way he was written perfectly represents how good a HEALTHY Kubo can write. CFYOW have explored so much more....Kaname is one of THOSE VERY DEEP characters I've seen in anime .
@@zemox2534 mate im not talking about those who dont understand that is normal....but im talking about those who would say utter shit about kubo and act like "trolls". They act very toxic.
Tosen and Komamura's story and arc was honestly really engaging and Kubo did a fantastic job with it. Their fight was by far the highlight of the Fake Karakura Town Arc for me and I like that Kubo chose for Tosen to die just when he turned to the light again just to hammer it in that he went down the wrong path and paid for it.
Honor and duty dictated otherwise. As a soldier I can relate. If one of my brothers would have turned on us we all would have taken it as our personal responsibility to bring him down. By any means.
PHOENIXQ2024 Okay, I can honor that. At least Sajin didn’t outright kill him on the spot after getting stabbed by Kazeshini. So yeah, that’s honorable.
He became obsessed with the concept of justice after his friend was murdered and the murderer walked free due to being part of the aristocracy. There he metaphorically saw that in Soul Society there's three types of 'justice', one for the commoners, none for the elites and for rebels(including well intentioned ones)summary execution courtesy of the Stealth Force. Him becoming the very worst of Soul Society's hypocrisies is quite the metamorphosis to behold.
I remember reading a quote from a father who’s son died in a freak accident while they were having father son fishing trip. More or less he said: “the next day the sun was shining, and I thought ‘how dare you shine don’t you know my boy is dead?’ there where people walking around acting normal and I couldn’t understand why they would do that” ‘When someone dies so unreasonably why does the cruel randomness of the world allowed to continue when someone more important than anything was simply snuffed out. It’s only because this world is greater in strength than the one it took. Yes, this is the only possible answer: Power rules all. Killing rules all. If I had the power I could turn the world right!’ This is why I love Tousen’s character. I can’t even call him wrong but his feelings will consume the world if not stopped
At the part where he regained his sight while transforming to this bug creature, when he looked at komamura and said he was ugly I was "bro, look at yourself..."
When Tosen started crying he was in definite despair. Aizen wanted to keep him the way he was. ...with his loyalty and justice intact. Damn kind of like when a soldier gets his limbs blown off and dont want to return home in that condition. Thank you for doing a vid on a very underrated character.
Great analysis!!! And I'm happy you included CFYOW, because it gives more depth to his character. Despite the path that he chose, his motivation is so relatable, and the way he was played by Tokinada as he was pleading for justice made me really feel for him... like, how could he not feel this hatred towards the system? It was truly outrageous. And I consider Tousen and Hisagi my fav captain-lieutenant duo. Hisagi truly values Tousen's teaching and I love how he stands by it, even when his current captain (and pretty much the dude that inspired him to become a Shinigami) kind of mocked Tosen. Hisagi is one of my fav characters in Bleach, and understanding Tosen also gives a lot of insight about him! Keep it up ^^
well kensei is kinda entitled to it considering that the whole hollowfication incident and spending 100yrs as a wanted criminal was due to tousen's actions
@@crysuzumushi yeah its a shame. We didn't get to see a lot of former Captains/Lieutenants interact with each other after being separated for over 100 years
Not sure if someone posted this yet but 🔹SPOILERS🔹 After Tokinada is defeated, we get a short but beautiful chapter from Aizen's perspective down in Muken, where he laments that Tosen can now truly rest knowing justice has finally been served He goes on to reminisces about a conversation he had with Tosen, explaining in more detail why Aizen murdered him when he did And like I said, it's short so I just posted the text below, enjoy! Muken:- In this prison, no colour is allowed to exist. An infinite darkness stretches out in all directions atop a jet-black floor, allowing no light to penetrate through the multi-fold barrier. This was a prison located deep underground. A hell for the blind; reserved for those who deserved death, but who could not be killed and were instead sealed for various reasons. The unemotional voice of a man echoes in this prison where stillness is usually supposed to dominate. "The flow....has changed a bit." Aizen Sosuke. The sinner who continues to spend a very long time in this absolute darkness with a rare amount of sentience, now confirms the disappearance of one soul. Aizen, whose body was mostly restrained, sensed that the soul had vanished; the soul of the man with whom he shared a destined relationship; the man who was his confidant. But Aizen did not let any emotions show on his face. It revived within the depths of his consciousness- The memory of a certain promise that he had exchanged with his confidant. Past:- "Is there something that you wish for, Kaname? I would like to extend my gratitude towards you for being my greatest loyalist. So if there is something that you want, just name it." Within Aizen's mind, this memory arose. He had asked his confidant Tosen Kaname this question a long time ago. "By your leave... yes.... there is indeed something. Just one." "Oh?" Interested to know what kind of personal desire this man in front of him sought, Aizen waited curiously to hear those words- However- The words that tumbled out of Tosen's mouth were far from what one might consider a 'reward'. "My wish is.... A precept against sin." "...." Encouraged by his listener's silence, Tosen pressed on. "Should there come a time when I change... should there come a time when I begin to accept the world of the Shinigami... rather... should there come a time when this world without evolution begins to provide me with something like peace of mind... At that time, I would like you to erase my existence from this world... leaving behind no fragments." The words sounded strange, so Aizen asked again, in order to confirm the other party's intention, "Surely, Kaname... should there ever come a time when you need to halt your progress... the Shinigami lot will forgive you. However, I do not think you will accept that forgiveness, will you?" "If there is one thing that is absolute, then it is you, Aizen-sama. But... You, who taught me what justice is, and you, who instructed me on how the world ought to operate, are also a part of the world that I detest." "I see. So the root of the very justice that drives you, is a double-edged sword that can also destroy your justice at the same time." Kakyo. Yes, that was the name of the woman who was Kaname's best friend, recalled Aizen. Tosen continued to speak. "If I were to accept the world of the Shinigami, then it will be a denial of my own justice. Should such a time ever come, what I will have done, will no longer be justice. It will just be murder." Clenching his fists in remembrance of a cruel past, Tosen let his next words out with difficulty. "That would mean... the defilement of Kakyo's death and her way of life. Since I am standing here, already betraying her wishes; going against my own justice would be equivalent to murdering her twice." "But if she were alive today, would she have forgiven you?" "...Yes. She would have. That's why, I want you to have mercy and make me disappear from this world before I degenerate into the non-existent goodness that she saw in this world." "Mercy... you say?" "If my justice turns out to be false, then I must never be forgiven! I want you to crush and destroy every last bit of my soul before my heart gets filled with false salvation. That's my one and only wish." Tosen uttered a wish that was not in accordance with his justice, but according to his feelings. Aizen, who respected Tosen's resolution, questioned him once again in order to see whether Tosen really grasped the depth and meaning behind his own desire. Anticipating the answer, Aizen asked, ".....If I stand atop the heavens and create a new world.... what will you do then?" "That new world is a world where someone like me, who is forever trapped by vengeance, must never exist. Therefore, once you stand atop the heavens, Aizen-sama, I must commit suicide for the purpose of complete purification of that world." "So then... whatever happens... I will inevitably end up losing my only confidant." "....Forgive me. Please forget what I just said." Tosen realized that Aizen, too, was trapped by emotions. Aizen spoke to Tosen, who looked like he repented his choice of words, "It's fine. Those were words that came out of your true heart." "It is my immaturity that still makes me unable to cast off the justice that my friend Kakyo sang praises about." "No, it's not. Knowing one's own weaknesses becomes the foundation for climbing to greater heights." Aizen looked down at the incomplete Hogyoku held in his hands, and spoke softly; a fearless smile playing upon his lips. "Sometimes, fear is also necessary for evolution." And so, Aizen spoke to his close subordinate with absolute firmness. Approaching Tosen, Aizen made a promise to him. "I swear to you, Kaname. Before you suffer from the forgiveness of the Shinigami, I will make sure to erase all traces of your existence." The darkness of the Muken seemed to waver ever so slightly. "Kaname.... the one who still follows the footsteps that you left behind, seems to be making interesting progress as he continues to walk down that path." What Aizen embraced in his chest once the memories from the past swept away from him, whether the fragments of memory roused his heart, that was never meant to be understood by anyone- The recollections from the past that seamlessly flowed by, seemed to merely melt away into the endless darkness. "Even if, in the end, his corpse will be stepped across-" "I still pleasurably look forward to the moment when his progress will irradiate my way." {t/n: the part where Aizen senses the disappearance of a soul is meant to be taken metaphorically. Aizen had promised to remove Tosen's soul once he came close to finding peace. With Shuhei coming to terms with himself over Tosen's motives and with Tokinada's death, technically, if Tosen were alive, his soul would find peace. With both those events accomplished, Tosen's soul finally completely vanished from the world. Also, this segment tells us how close Aizen and Tosen were. The word 'confidant' is used repeatedly with respect to their relationship. And I found it very touching that Aizen chose to use the phrase 'fear is necessary for evolution' just after learning that Tosen would die once Aizen finally reached his goal. It's like the concept of fear finally crossed his mind once he heard Tosen's wish. And the last words in the Muken were meant to be Aizen's tribute to Shuhei. After this comes the long last chapter}
@@RickyUzumaki993 Fore sure, and it even humanizes Aizen a little, which I was not expecting And I think it added some much needed context to Aizen & Tōsen's relationship, the whole story does, actually, I would definitely recommend it

Yh I think they had genuine respect and trust in each other. Considering Tosen was the only high ranking shinigami who hadn't seen Kyoka Suigetsu yet he still remained with Aizen
After his defeat to Zaraki he might not of had bankai anymore, since it was stated later in the series a broken bankai can never be repaired, and his bankai fell apart.
@@NerdyCommenter he potentially could, but from what was presented in the manga, it seemed only the 0 Squad member Nimaya would have the potential to repair a bankai.

Tosen's Bankai is one of the scariest. His Bankai has something to do with senses as well like Aizen and Shinji. Like hello his Banki will null all of your senses like sight, smell, taste, hearing and feelings. That's actually overpowered to be honest.
@@DivineLBest If they didn't figure out the trick to it: As long as you touch the blade, then your senses would come back. It makes sense as it seemed that you couldn't feel anything in that vacuum EXCEPT for his blade going through you, so the best choice would be to try and get the jump on him while he's running you through. Ironically, his bankai was also the best way to counter Aizen's, who had a similar weakness discovered by Gin: Just touch the blade and you'd regain your senses. Is it a wonder why he'd recruit Tousen into his schemes while making sure that he couldn't return to the Gotei 13?
I love Tosens hollowfication. He’s one of the best written characters throughout the anime. His resurreccione is metaphorical. He turned into a moth. Moths use the moon to find their way home when they’re lost. Most times they’re unable to find the moon so they end up mistaking light sources for the moon eg; flames or light bulb. What ends up happening is that the moth gets too close to the light source, gets burned by it and dies. RIP Kaname(Greatest anime character design)
I never really thought about how Tosen's ability is the antithesis of Aizen's. Tosen causes people to see nothing while aizen can make people see whatever he wants. Then tosen accepts sight from Aizen which ultimately "blinds" him... favorite character development.
the whole last fight with Tousen vs Kumamura and Hisagi was actually pretty sad. the fact that Tousen died because he could finally see was heartbreaking. he was OP af before transforming into that ugly-ass bug and ended up more blind than when he could not see.
Beautiful made video, I'm so glad you brought this wonderful character to light. I was unaware of the can't fear your own world information and I'm glad you shared it with us. I've always love Kaname for these same reasons.
23:32 that actually puts more weight in what aizen did when tousen cuts grimjows arm off and aizen told grimjow if he hurts tousen that'll be unforgivable. He was literally protecting his friend...wow
Being a young black kid watching anime back in the early 2000s Tosen is very near and dear to my heart. His story was honestly heart wrenching all the way to the end
i feel it was purposely... they still had to "wow" us for Aizens transformations since they decided not to give Gin one. and Tosen's first transformation was awesome, i'd say better than any of Aizen's (although, obviously not necessarily stronger I would assume bc well its Aizen smh) lol

Love your videos but gotta correct something regarding CFYOW. Tokinada only shifted the blame to someone else when talking to Tosen, and even then at the end of their conversation he admits it was him. The soul society knew it was Tokinada because Kyoraku witnessed it. They just let him get away with it because he was a noble, hence one of soul societys many evils.
Of course Aizen would care about Tosen. I think this is because Tosen was an individual with a pure heart and intentions. It was only circumstances that made him that way. Tosen did not gain power for power`s sake to validate an enormous ego like Aizen did,he gained power because he did not want he and those he cared about to be vulnerable to predators. He did not enjoy being VULNERABLE I think this innocence touched Aizen because it reminded him of what he did not have thus igniting a soft spot inside Aizen`s psychopathic nature. Gin was younger than Tosen but Aizen could not trust Gin fully because Gin did not project innocence but cheekiness. who would trust a cunning person? Trust me Tosen is well written since he expresses what happens when a kind soul is shown the ugliness of the world.
Thank you so much, I understand Tōsen a lot more now. I can say that I really like his character now that I’ve looked at it from a different perspective. 💕✨
I love Tosen,he's a really cool designed character but I hated that he was just used as fodder to boost other characters like Kenpachi and Aizen, he should of won at least one important battle
I feel sorry for hisagi and sajin. Everything they seen from tosen was all a lie. Yet they still believe that was the real tosen. They never once got to understand him cuz they were just his pawns. The tosen they knew was like aizen to momo an illusion. Tosen before he joined the soul reapers had always hated the soul reapers. That why he became a hollow like person cuz in his mind hollows are better then soul reapers. The blindness of sajin and hisagi not understanding this is sad. The only person that understood the real tosen was aizen. tosen is a really underrated character.
Ya a lot of people says it’s trash it’s not it’s just that Tosen uses it really stupidly if he were to seconds after activation, blitz the opponent and just cut their head so that they can’t even touch the sword cause he’s so fast he’d definitely be a top tier
Tosen was great character and I’m glad there was more stuff added to his last in the novels. I think his recurrection was a fly actually. Also please do a video on kenpachi. And a video on ginjo after you read the novels.
I hope you do a video on shuhei hisagi someday. The CFYOW light novels do a great job of fleshing out his character. His zanpaktou and bankai fit him perfectly
Bleach's Mysterious OST is still to this day one of my most beloved tracks from any soundtracks, ever. Kudos for the video DMZimran, well put together!
Dissapointment in Komamura eyes when Tousen said he is uglier than what he thought after gaining sight is one the saddest things i ever seen in a manga.
i kinda loved his original design in the soul society arc ....the dreads, the scarf , the coat .... he looked way cooler than with the hueco-clothes i also love how he shares justicias blindness
Amazing analysis I got this recommended yesterday tosen was easily my favorite character in bleach his justice was so interesting to me and his design was super cool
Underrated as fuck character! After learning about the dialogue between him and Aizen in the Light Novel letting us know that he “wanted” aizen to kill him if he ever betrayed his own ideology succumbing to the Shinigami ideology solidified his badassery in my eyes!
CFYOW really highlighted how much Kubo planned ahead. Tosen cried when he cut down Uryu because he knew of the Original Sin and that he was raising his sword against one of god's descendent. He has two, completely unrelated Shikai releases because his Asauchi was previously his friend's. And his Bankai replicate the Soul King's experience, a world of completely blackness. This mirror Shuhei's own Bankai, which recreate the world before the 5 noble heads mutilated the soul king and divided the realm.
How did the blind man fall under Aizen’s powers if he never saw his sword’s release🤔 Maybe the catch is Tosen was never under Kyoka Suigetsu’s hypnosis. He chose to join Aizen 🤔
"Justice is not something you can see with your eyes. Its something mere words can't even explain." True, one *acts* justice. And sometimes you may not be the "good guy". But what it really narrows down to, is what's fair....i have a full cup, you have a full cup. We may not like eachother, but we still got what we got.
@Tyrell Suraiya Even still, according to Nimaya its not suppose to be possible. i think only ppl who gained a zanpaukto outside of Nimaya was probably Kenpachi and Ichigo ( and possibly the other substitute). I may throw head captain in there but hell maybe not even him
@@DivineLBest Not true, it is possible. Nimaya only said that he made everyone's zanpakuto. How they are receiving he's sword doesn't matter. Only Ichigo is an exception.
Question: is the sound wave Tosen’s Shikai, just that move and nothing else? Do they ever explain that? Kaname was so consumed by hatred but hides it under “Justice”. I didn’t understand why he sided with Aizen since he was immune to Kyoka Suigetsu, but once we find that he wants to destroy seretei it makes so much more sense. CFYOW really helped complete Tosen’s arc and help us understand his motivations. Great analysis brother.
Still love This Character. Now knowing what hell he was in and what life did for him, I still love him and would still have loved to see him live. But it is what it is
Komamura and Hisagi hoped to open Tousen's eyes to the truth of what he was doing and had done. But unfortunately, all they were able to accomplish was showing him how far he had fallen from grace and his ideals, and killed him. I've always liked that about Tousen's story. And I'm glad someone acknowledged it.
One of the craziest shit happened in the novel when the guy who killed tosens friend has a whole conversation with tosen after he kills her and tricks him into saying he would not kill him.

Kaname Tousen's DEEP CHARACTER, Backstory, Ideologies and the way he was written perfectly represents how good a HEALTHY Kubo can write. CFYOW have explored so much more....Kaname is one of THOSE VERY DEEP characters I've seen in anime .

And the guy who killed tosen's friend was tokinoda from the bleach novel and the bleach brave souls game
It really was well written to me at least I loved the friendship between them and understanding both characters really gotta give credit to kubo

This man is complex and I love it. Him and Sajin should never have fought, just talked.
Ferd The Boss 420 no smoke, def needed some dialogue there lol. I can totally understand wanting answers.
More or less he said:
“the next day the sun was shining, and I thought ‘how dare you shine don’t you know my boy is dead?’ there where people walking around acting normal and I couldn’t understand why they would do that”
‘When someone dies so unreasonably why does the cruel randomness of the world allowed to continue when someone more important than anything was simply snuffed out. It’s only because this world is greater in strength than the one it took. Yes, this is the only possible answer: Power rules all. Killing rules all. If I had the power I could turn the world right!’
This is why I love Tousen’s character. I can’t even call him wrong but his feelings will consume the world if not stopped

🔹SPOILERS🔹
After Tokinada is defeated, we get a short but beautiful chapter from Aizen's perspective down in Muken, where he laments that Tosen can now truly rest knowing justice has finally been served
He goes on to reminisces about a conversation he had with Tosen, explaining in more detail why Aizen murdered him when he did
And like I said, it's short so I just posted the text below, enjoy!
Muken:-
In this prison, no colour is allowed to exist.
An infinite darkness stretches out in all directions atop a jet-black floor, allowing no light to penetrate through the multi-fold barrier.
This was a prison located deep underground. A hell for the blind; reserved for those who deserved death, but who could not be killed and were instead sealed for various reasons.
The unemotional voice of a man echoes in this prison where stillness is usually supposed to dominate.
"The flow....has changed a bit."
Aizen Sosuke.
The sinner who continues to spend a very long time in this absolute darkness with a rare amount of sentience, now confirms the disappearance of one soul.
Aizen, whose body was mostly restrained, sensed that the soul had vanished; the soul of the man with whom he shared a destined relationship; the man who was his confidant.
But Aizen did not let any emotions show on his face.
It revived within the depths of his consciousness-
The memory of a certain promise that he had exchanged with his confidant.
Past:-
"Is there something that you wish for, Kaname? I would like to extend my gratitude towards you for being my greatest loyalist. So if there is something that you want, just name it."
Within Aizen's mind, this memory arose.
He had asked his confidant Tosen Kaname this question a long time ago.
"By your leave... yes.... there is indeed something. Just one."
"Oh?"
Interested to know what kind of personal desire this man in front of him sought, Aizen waited curiously to hear those words-
However-
The words that tumbled out of Tosen's mouth were far from what one might consider a 'reward'.
"My wish is.... A precept against sin."
"...."
Encouraged by his listener's silence, Tosen pressed on.
"Should there come a time when I change... should there come a time when I begin to accept the world of the Shinigami... rather... should there come a time when this world without evolution begins to provide me with something like peace of mind... At that time, I would like you to erase my existence from this world... leaving behind no fragments."
The words sounded strange, so Aizen asked again, in order to confirm the other party's intention,
"Surely, Kaname... should there ever come a time when you need to halt your progress... the Shinigami lot will forgive you. However, I do not think you will accept that forgiveness, will you?"
"If there is one thing that is absolute, then it is you, Aizen-sama. But... You, who taught me what justice is, and you, who instructed me on how the world ought to operate, are also a part of the world that I detest."
"I see. So the root of the very justice that drives you, is a double-edged sword that can also destroy your justice at the same time."
Kakyo.
Yes, that was the name of the woman who was Kaname's best friend, recalled Aizen. Tosen continued to speak.
"If I were to accept the world of the Shinigami, then it will be a denial of my own justice. Should such a time ever come, what I will have done, will no longer be justice. It will just be murder."
Clenching his fists in remembrance of a cruel past, Tosen let his next words out with difficulty.
"That would mean... the defilement of Kakyo's death and her way of life. Since I am standing here, already betraying her wishes; going against my own justice would be equivalent to murdering her twice."
"But if she were alive today, would she have forgiven you?"
"...Yes. She would have. That's why, I want you to have mercy and make me disappear from this world before I degenerate into the non-existent goodness that she saw in this world."
"Mercy... you say?"
"If my justice turns out to be false, then I must never be forgiven! I want you to crush and destroy every last bit of my soul before my heart gets filled with false salvation. That's my one and only wish."
Tosen uttered a wish that was not in accordance with his justice, but according to his feelings.
Aizen, who respected Tosen's resolution, questioned him once again in order to see whether Tosen really grasped the depth and meaning behind his own desire. Anticipating the answer, Aizen asked,
".....If I stand atop the heavens and create a new world.... what will you do then?"
"That new world is a world where someone like me, who is forever trapped by vengeance, must never exist. Therefore, once you stand atop the heavens, Aizen-sama, I must commit suicide for the purpose of complete purification of that world."
"So then... whatever happens... I will inevitably end up losing my only confidant."
"....Forgive me. Please forget what I just said."
Tosen realized that Aizen, too, was trapped by emotions.
Aizen spoke to Tosen, who looked like he repented his choice of words,
"It's fine. Those were words that came out of your true heart."
"It is my immaturity that still makes me unable to cast off the justice that my friend Kakyo sang praises about."
"No, it's not. Knowing one's own weaknesses becomes the foundation for climbing to greater heights."
Aizen looked down at the incomplete Hogyoku held in his hands, and spoke softly; a fearless smile playing upon his lips.
"Sometimes, fear is also necessary for evolution."
And so, Aizen spoke to his close subordinate with absolute firmness. Approaching Tosen, Aizen made a promise to him.
"I swear to you, Kaname. Before you suffer from the forgiveness of the Shinigami, I will make sure to erase all traces of your existence."
The darkness of the Muken seemed to waver ever so slightly.
"Kaname.... the one who still follows the footsteps that you left behind, seems to be making interesting progress as he continues to walk down that path."
What Aizen embraced in his chest once the memories from the past swept away from him,
whether the fragments of memory roused his heart,
that was never meant to be understood by anyone-
The recollections from the past that seamlessly flowed by, seemed to merely melt away into the endless darkness.
"Even if, in the end, his corpse will be stepped across-"
"I still pleasurably look forward to the moment when his progress will irradiate my way."
{t/n: the part where Aizen senses the disappearance of a soul is meant to be taken metaphorically. Aizen had promised to remove Tosen's soul once he came close to finding peace. With Shuhei coming to terms with himself over Tosen's motives and with Tokinada's death, technically, if Tosen were alive, his soul would find peace. With both those events accomplished, Tosen's soul finally completely vanished from the world. Also, this segment tells us how close Aizen and Tosen were. The word 'confidant' is used repeatedly with respect to their relationship. And I found it very touching that Aizen chose to use the phrase 'fear is necessary for evolution' just after learning that Tosen would die once Aizen finally reached his goal. It's like the concept of fear finally crossed his mind once he heard Tosen's wish. And the last words in the Muken were meant to be Aizen's tribute to Shuhei. After this comes the long last chapter}

@@ZegetaX1 CFYOW VOLUME 3 (FAN TRANSLATION) It is before the official release so there might be some changes.
It’s nice knowing that Aizen at least had somewhat of a “friend” in Tōsen.
Yh I think they had genuine respect and trust in each other. Considering Tosen was the only high ranking shinigami who hadn't seen Kyoka Suigetsu yet he still remained with Aizen
Tousen is my favorite character. I honestly wish we got to see more of his zanpakdo and bankai.
After his defeat to Zaraki he might not of had bankai anymore, since it was stated later in the series a broken bankai can never be repaired, and his bankai fell apart.
@@Skorndrow-1 true but I'm pretty sure if something like that happened Aizen probably would've found some way to repair it
@@NerdyCommenter he potentially could, but from what was presented in the manga, it seemed only the 0 Squad member Nimaya would have the potential to repair a bankai.

Tosen's Bankai is one of the scariest. His Bankai has something to do with senses as well like Aizen and Shinji. Like hello his Banki will null all of your senses like sight, smell, taste, hearing and feelings. That's actually overpowered to be honest.
i think its why Kubo had him fight someone OP like Kenpachi and lose, otherwise he'd win probably 99% of battles using Bankai
@@supersonicmario56 yeah but Tosen was showing mercy against Kenpachi, and of course that would mess up the plot if either of them died

Thank You for this analysis Tousen is one of my top ten character of any anime.
Justice is not about good or evil. Its about what's fair. Therefore, Kaname is not a contradiction.
Indeed
He uses fear as a caution. You know, look both sides of the street before you walk. Gauge the opponent. That's why he chastised Grimmjow. Partially.
Tosen also has a neat design trait that embodies the phrase "Justice is blind."
Being a young black kid watching anime back in the early 2000s Tosen is very near and dear to my heart. His story was honestly heart wrenching all the way to the end
I loved Tosen's first hollowification. His resurreccion was kinda meh, but that may have been on purpose. But with just the mask he was awesome.
i feel it was purposely... they still had to "wow" us for Aizens transformations since they decided not to give Gin one. and Tosen's first transformation was awesome, i'd say better than any of Aizen's (although, obviously not necessarily stronger I would assume bc well its Aizen smh) lol
His resurreccione is metaphorical. He turned to a moth. Moths use the moon to find their way home when they’re lost. Most times they’re unable to find the moon so they end up mistaking light sources for the moon eg; flames or light bulb.
W he’s a very slept on character
awesome analysis, you did cleared up a lot of unanswered questions about Tosen. Many Thanks.
I think Uryu's character analysis. My man is HELLA underrated 😭😭😭😭
I meant "I want". My typo
Of course Aizen would care about Tosen. I think this is because
Tosen was an individual with a pure heart and intentions. It was only circumstances that made him that way.
Tosen did not gain power for power`s sake to validate an enormous ego like Aizen did,he gained power because he did not want he and those he cared about to be vulnerable to predators. He did not enjoy being VULNERABLE
I think this innocence touched Aizen because it reminded him of what he did not have thus igniting a soft spot inside Aizen`s psychopathic nature.

Tosen didn't cut down Uryuu b/c Uryuu only passed out

@Tyrell Suraiya Even still, according to Nimaya its not suppose to be possible. i think only ppl who gained a zanpaukto outside of Nimaya was probably Kenpachi and Ichigo ( and possibly the other substitute). I may throw head captain in there but hell maybe not even him
But also sadly put her zanpakuto under hollowfication and bankai wise most likely kaname's supposedly the 2nd shikai was hers
@@DivineLBest Not true, it is possible. Nimaya only said that he made everyone's zanpakuto. How they are receiving he's sword doesn't matter. Only Ichigo is an exception.
I gotta say I don’t really care for Tosen until I saw this video. I see this character in a completely different way now. Thank you for the video.
But it is what it is
Awesome analysis, keep it up. Trolling face! but for real, this was a good analysis.
His original Hollowfication looked so awesome
Thanx for the great vids, aways a joy to listen to
Thanks I didn't know any of this about him it gives me a different understanding of him
Awesome video man
Great job fam keep em comin. If u got any haters fuck em. Bless up!
Lmao I remember calling him "cool shades guy"
More videos bro! I love your Bleach analysis so much!
Ey! When you're making a bleach analysis video you are REQUIRED to do the Can't Fear your Own World bit. I demand it! It wouldn't do the characters............justice. lmfao okay that was lame but I had to.
Anyways awesome videos man. I'm binge watching your channel lol.
Awesome as always.
