I have watched a bunch of videos pertaining to the Massey Ferguson Sub Compact tractor and not one of them has pointed out what you did in this video. Most of what you discussed in this video wasn't even covered when they went over my tractor with me. Thank You, Thank You for doing this video. I have a 2020 Massey Ferguson GC 1723E with a Front Bucket and I love it because I can get into tight spaces with it. I only have an acre but I am not in my prime of life. I got the tractor to help me move stuff around and maintain my 100 ft x 40 ft driveway. I am guilty of putting my tractor in 4 wheel drive and leaving it. I have 30 hours on it and it is doing great. I will however take it out of 4 wheel drive now until I need that feature. My next purchase will be a ballast box. I have access to a 5 ft box blade that I use a lot when I am moving dirt or gravel. Once again Thank You for the tips.

Morning John! Excellent overview and explanation - I learned a ton of things I did not know! Thanks for taking the time to explain it further for us. Really, really helpful. Have a great week out there and be safe!
I think you had great information there for a first time operator. I would just add that if you are going to use the loader bucket for removing dirt/grading then a Hydrostat is better because if you hit a solid root or rock when cutting the dirt away (going very slowly) when the tractor hits the solid object it will stop the tractor and allow the hydrostat to do it's thing and slip without doing any damage to the tractor or bucket. When your locked in and clutch out with the shuttle shift tractor something is got to give, usually the bucket or loader.
Thank you Rod! I agree with you 100%!! I glad you put it in the comments. You can not cover everything in a video. It would be 20 hours long. Lol. Have a good week! See ya in the next one!

Excellent explanation on the transmission, John. I probably will buy a gear-driven tractor now. Also check hydraulic fluid level on the tractor. Hope this helps. Let me know what you find. Have a good week! See ya in the next one!
Is there a reason why that you with the massy over the TYM T264 tractor? I see that you have the bigger TYM T474 which is for different opinion and uses!
My Massey is a 2017. TYM didn't offer the 264 till 2019. At the time I got my Massey it was the best tractor out there in it's class for the money and still is a very impressive tractor for the size. I have put the Massey through the mill and it's still strong. The backhoe can run with that T474 backhoe all day. Love. Both of my tractors but I haven't done the projects with the T474 like I have done in videos with that little Massy. Thank you Scott, for watching and the comment. Have a good week! Do you get bucket flop with the gc? I have the gc1720 and when I’m trying to grade the bucket doesn’t hold it position. When tractor running I can move bucket up and down by about 2” I took to dealer they said they fixed it but it’s not.
I think Jerry is right. The only other thing that comes to mind is air in the system but that can be worked out of it by using the FEL. Keep me updated to what you find! See ya in the next one!
I can bleed it out by cycling the bucket from stop to stop. Then after about 20 minutes of work it’s back again. Dealer replaced control valve and made no difference. I think I’ll get cylinders rebuilt and see if that is the issue. Thank you.

I am very happy with my gear drive in my Kubota L2501.
I really like the HST trans but for raw power the gear trans is the way to go! See ya in the next one!
Great video thanks

You could probably teach classes on proper tractor operation.
Thank you Rodney, so much for the kind comment! I really appreciate it! Have a good week! See ya in the next one!
Hey its been awhile.. Great Vid!
Thank you Mac! It has been awhile! Hope all is well with you and the family! Have a good weekend! See ya in the next one!
Great video very very informative!! I actually learned a few things I didn't know. How much time do you spend cleaning them and what do you use on them? Mine looks like it's been thru a war zone compared to yours. I know at one time you had a coupon code for BX Expanded do you still have one? Thanks for the video and have a fantastic weekend!!
Thank you S.T. S! I just rinse them off after working them. Get the dirt ( Or mud here lol) off before it dries makes it a lot easer. BXpanded does not offer coupons or sales. They just try and keep the price as cheap as possible for everyone all the time. See ya in the next one!
All my controllers for backhoe jst quit wrking cld it be fuses??
Thank you Melissa, for watching and the comment! My model is all mechanical controls so no fuses. I would check the connection on the lines that hook the backhoe to the tractor.
When tractor running I can move bucket up and down by about 2”
I took to dealer they said they fixed it but it’s not.
Sounds like you may have a cylinder leaking down a little bit.
I think Jerry is right. The only other thing that comes to mind is air in the system but that can be worked out of it by using the FEL. Keep me updated to what you find! See ya in the next one!
I think you might be right Jerry!
I can bleed it out by cycling the bucket from stop to stop. Then after about 20 minutes of work it’s back again. Dealer replaced control valve and made no difference. I think I’ll get cylinders rebuilt and see if that is the issue. Thank you.
Sounding like you getting bleed by inside the cylinder or sucking air somewhere! Wish I could be more help to you!
The book doesn't even tell you where to fill fluids or where what fluid goes where
Lol I know there is not enough information in them. That's why I wanted to go over these points. Thanks for watching R. Agnew, and the comment! Have a good one! See ya in the next one!
