Sure a lot of pissin and moanin here by guys who probably dont do SHIT with their projects, or even have one. Yea build that flathead 6 and keep it all stock and hey, you can throw candy from it once a year inna fuckin parade. This truck can be honored by actually being used, tell me how many of you out there with these are really doing work with them

A power wagon wants a Cummins not a hemi. All that work for nothing.

only engine better for this project would be a 53 Dodge Red Ram Hemi.

I wish this engine can be exported for sale to private individuals in the Philippines, especially the highlanders needing powerful engines for their automobiles to transport farm-vegetables to the lowlnds

It's a showpiece that's going to be driven in parades and things of that nature and a stick shift doesn't work this is not something you're going to take out in a wooded area not after spending about 200 Grand

I used to feel the same way and I've owned a few 4x4s. But I think I've been converted from watching off road shows (Matt's, Trail Mater, Merlin etc). Every last one of these folks run automatics and they know lots more than I do. Do I like a manual? Yes. Are modern automatics simpler and more efficient than manual? Also yes.

I would have kept the orginal steering wheel and found gauges that at least look stock. I would have added to the frame so as to not shorten the box

They have that option however the one who ordered that truck wanted modern equipment and dash in they truck but they mostly keep it original most of the time but that only depends on what the order says.

It's frustrating, there are virtually no aftermarket sheet metal parts available for these old trucks. While they made these trucks from 1946 to 1968 and later for export, the entire production run was only about 250,00 trucks which is less than half the number of '65 mustangs built. I venture most were purchased by industries and not individuals, and regardless they were bought to work hard. They did just that and what's left, except rare examples, bear the scars of that hard work. So now rich pricks cut up the best remaining examples to make $150,000- $200,000 douche mobiles and none of that money makes its way to making repro parts for them. It would seem that it would benefit us all to have repro cabs, hoods, fenders etc. so the more money than brains crowd can put them on their denali chassis and the rest of us can fix our poor beat to hell old trucks. It doesn't bother me that they only want a vehicle that looks like a power wagon and are willing to pay the price of a small home for it, it bothers me that they have driven the price of them through the flipping roof, while gobbling up all the good parts out there. I'll never sell my old 48 even though she's beat to hell and had her back broken more than a couple times, but if somebody handed me the keys to this abomination, I would flip it in a heartbeat and put the money into making the 48 like she just rolled off the assembly line exactly like it did back then.

@@mudguts77 -- "Douche mobile" is right !! This truck is now totally worthless for it's original intent, let alone as a collector vehicle. I feel the same way when someone lowers a classic truck as well. I have a restored 1960 Chevy Apache pickup and I told my son that I will leave it to him when I die so long as he NEVER alters the truck by either hotroding or lowering. I swear I'll haunt him if he does!!
