I saw and purchased a £12.99 Crivit 3000 while food shopping..... and it didn't look too bad on the shelf.
Let's get it out of the box and have a proper look. Could it be a bargain??
I have one of these reels plus four other reels from Lidl and for someone who does not match fish and only pleasure fishes on a budget they are great, I have landed barbel to double figures and carp to 21lbs with them so for me they are brilliant and if they break can replace them cheaply.
well... compared to the reels I started with in the early 70's such as the Intrepid Black Prince, this Lidl reel is a luxury starter reel and for £12.99 it's a no brainer and perfectly adequate for Anglers of all levels.
There's always been a degree of tackle snobbery over the years and if money is no object then fine ... go spend silly money
on a brand name but these days even cheap reels are very good and not that much different to some of the expensive one's, certainly not £100 different !! but then, that's consumerism for you 😄
I started late 80s and think about the rubbish I had 🤣 DAM fighter reel with no proper bail arm, heavy old fashioned glass fibre cheapo rod with unlined rings that would catch the line when it was wet! Progress.

It's £12 THATS AWSOME my entry level was a black piece look how far we have come I would have wet myself as a kid if I was given this in the 70s

Crivit is the brand name of Lidl, the fishing tackles, sports wears comes under this names. I have checked these reels as well, for this price it looked okay, however how good it is only some test could tell. Internal things should be also checked, what kind of bearings it has, etc.
It looks space-age compared to my old Intrepid Black Prince of yesteryear !
Lidl did a rod and reel combo the Same sort of spec if you caught one fish you would be happy

I also think you have picked a up a 2000 reel as the 3000 one I got seems larger and doesn’t have a spare spool ( opened a few boxes to check) but more importantly my 3000 has a bait runner feature and the spool is red. They also do a 5000 same features and same price at £12.99
They had two different types of 3000. A front drag and rear drag baitrunner type. Size wise definitely looks 3000.
It looks remarkably similar to a Cadence reel.
That did not look like plastic to me and it has a good 3 year guarantee can you think of another one with a 3-year guarantee

U don’t have to take the hole handle off to line it up just loosen it and line it up while it’s still on
Crivit is the Lidl own brand that covers lots of non food items.
I bought one quality superb, have bought a few top quality items from Lidl definately not the cheap tacky stuff normally made in China.
ive had a crivit 3000 reel for the last 6 years no probs has seen off other known reels

Lots of generic reels are made in the same Chinese factories as the recognised brands. Slightly different specs and finish but just as good quality ........ and at a quarter of the price!
That's a 2000 reel.
Does not like the salt mine died in two weeks.
