I really enjoy hearing about Dave’s past . He brought us so many exciting things . I thank Disney for keeping his movie props and his square at Disney world for the public to enjoy ,job well done ! We need these played at the park if possible. Limited showing of course.

I had know Dave since ‘83 from meeting at cons in Texas. What makes me smile with a dampening of my eyes from this video is a story Dave and artist Robert Williams (GnR’s APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION album cover) told me at a Golden Apple SDCC After Party (always held on a Monday following the con). Must have been late 80s. We were drinking beers and we started talking cars and they recounted a time when Williams and Dave were in his Buick and were caught speeding by a cop and chased and outran the cop and got to William’s house. His wife had heard the car coming and knew by the roar they were coming fast. Sensing trouble (this was apparently nothing new) she ran out and opened a garage door and they flew inside and shut the door and went into the house to wait but the cops never found them but rode by the house a few times.
They were both having a great time remembering and telling the story and overlapping each other and laughing about it. And I’m the only one they are telling it to in the back of the store between the comic racks and toys, each reaching out to grab my arm or shoulder as we all shared the moment laughing with me as I made delighted and shocked faces at each crazy turn, enjoying them enjoying the memories as much as the story.
    Thanks for sharing this.

Lol, Dave and his 'love of cars', was pure visual/eye candy! I think he did appreciate what it took to keep an old car roadworthy but, was pretty much clueless about 'how to do' that. His 1940 Ford 'Opera Coupe' was a fine example of early 1990's resto-mod, gone wrong. Dave told me 'something broke' almost every time he took it out!
What he never said was, how he was driving it/what he expected it to be able to do! Knowing Dave, he was probably pushing that old car like it was built to take it, (it wasn't)!
His trip back to California from Boise Idaho across the Nevada desert in August was a prime example! Ha
He & John Kucasacus (sp) flogged that poor car in 100*+ heat, not understanding it only had an 8# radiator/cooling system. Needless to say, the engine 'blew' outside of Sacramento...😂
