As a unionist I know John Hume has made Northern Ireland a better place. I might not have agreed with all his political idea's but I have to respect him. God loves the peace makers and John Hume is at the top of the list. RIP........
It's honestly a pity more unionists aren't like you my friend, willing to put aside political ideology and beliefs to pay respects to a man who achieved more in his career than any of us could ever hope to
A great man fought for justice equality for the iminority in N.lreland he was atrue leader for the peace process and a very respectable family Man sorry to here John Hume has died.
So sad for a man like that to go along with Mo Molan two great people in my mind what they did for peace ✌️ is remarkable .May they rest in peace .May it continue .We love Ireland 🌈 North and South in the Name of John and Mo Molan .🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Sad that his dementia meant he didn't recognise his own central role in bringing peace to NI But he secured his place in history. RIP John Hume. A great man.
He corrected the wrongs of the British government. The provo's only came into existence because of the ineptitude of the government. They sat back and allowed unionist discrimination against the nationalist communities. John Hume was a visionary and knew that peace could never happen without the support of Adams and his party.
If only the Taig Fenian second class scum who were planted in Ulster by the Pope / Anti Christ, had have known their place and accepted the superiority of the native loyalist / unionist people then there would have been no need for the lovely God fearing, hard working chaps in the U.D.A. and U.V.F. to have to resort to selling drugs, beating up, extorting + murdering people while defending Ulster, especially in Donegal, Cavan + Monaghan, where thankfully for the Loyal Unionists of these 3 counties they were not abandoned and betrayed in 1920 by Lundy's in the other 6 counties of Ulster, God Save the Queen, Mrs Elizabeth Saxe Coburg and Gotha, or sorry its Windsor now for some reason . . . . .
John Hume R.I.P He was a from what could gather a thoroughly decent man, effectively the first to hand out the olive branch, to doJerry Adams and the gang.. and was probably the main instigator to the peace process and visa to the U.S.A mind you seemed to get pushed aside when the ''good old Jerry ''the peacemaker'' Adams showed up, the yanks weren't too interested guess not ''charismatic enough like Jerry boy, ..I wonder if Billy boy Clinton is going to turn up at his funeral and put his hand on his coffin? somehow doubt it.
From a nobody in England, Thank You! Your Actions saved many many lives. XX🇬🇧❤️🇮🇪

@Lugh Brazil I don't mean to disrespect him on the day he died , but it's true

He was responsible for the start of the troubles which left thousands murdered by the ira.

@M 801 years, I checked Wikipedia
Yes there's some truth to that though it was probably the more extreme ones like Bernadette Mckaliskey that deserve that charge to be thrown at them.
Was Martin Luther King creating a fuss also?
