- Caleb Thomas Schwab, the son of a Kansas state legislator, was killed after he plummeted from the 168-foot-tall Verruckt ride at Schlitterbahn Waterpark on Sunday. Esteban Castaneda, who was at the Kansas City waterpark, says he heard loud booms coming from the ride before noticing a body wash down after a raft. When he ran forward to help, he saw a lifeguard desperately trying to hold back a gathering crowd.

You can see where he died there is an inexplicable opening in the netting, and the metal bar actually seems to be significantly reinforced there. It's almost like it was designed to kill somebody, and i see no justification for the lack of netting at what must be the most dangerous section of the slide

There are cross bars on every single connection. You are an idiot. Stop making stuff up. He hit the top of the fencing and it killed him. It isn't rocket science or anything. The kid was too small and the raft caught air with the speed he got. He flew up and hit his head. Not a real hard thing to interpret and there is absolutely no distinguishable crossbar that is sticking out or protruding any more that the others. He hit the top of the safety cage yes but it was bad engineering and his size and the speed that did it. Well it was actually the angle of the ramp and the trajectory but...
They should have made the ceiling padded and covered with glossy clear soft plastic so if you did hit it wouldn't break your head open or break your neck for sure. Also the angles on these were too much. There are always going to be teens like me when I was 13 and 14 where I would run as fast as I could and jump into the slide and catch as much air as I could. You have to account for this behavior and especially for small skinny kids that will go fast and catch air because they are perfect weight and size to go fast. I went to oceans of fun/worlds of fun all the time when I was a kid and I lived in Kansas. There was always a horror story about somebody dying. Always. The legends of the deaths made the rides more famous and attractive to ride. The fear was real and we talked about how the ones that people died on were the absolute best rides. But not like this. It was usually someone who was trying to change seats when the rollercoaster goes up the hill or someone tried to get off while climbing the hill and didn't make it in time and the coaster goes down and so do they. Bammmmm, you dead.

Another thing I am now noticing is that there is no grip tape inexplicably in that exact spot as well, which would cause a sudden decrease in traction.
I simply can't wrap my head around it, there are three different intentional design choices here that enabled this to happen that everybody seems to have over looked.
I remember hearing that he got decapitated as I was vacationing in South Padre Island and we went to Schlitterbahn the day before. It must have been a seriously horrific thing to witness.

It was Internal Decapitation, his head did not go flying off. His injury of decapitation occurred within his body, meaning a snapped neck or something similar at the skull base that separated the brain from the spinal cord.

You can see at 0:10 seconds, there is a unresponsible Opening in one of the nets on the sides, Caleb went airborne and one of the net Led his head to be off (probably off his body). If you don’t see where he was decapitated, it’s when they were uphill. The Metal bar Is also designed As if it was to Kill someone. After the ride, Caleb was already Headless and There was a lot of blood On the Water and the slides.

At the very beginning of the drop at about 0:08sec i dont understand the reason for those little side rail things that end up disappearing anyways🤔🤔🤔Im assuming its to keep you straight/inline but It also seems like they can hurt and throw you off balance for the rest of the ride if you kind of hit them wrong. He was almost fully decapitated. I don’t think his entire head came off but it was enough to “internally decapitate” him. Just the flesh from the back of his neck kept it there. Quite horrific when you think about his brother being on the ride with him.
@@jennyrebecca7243 his brother wasn't on the ride with him. They got separated due to weight restrictions and the brother went down first and waited for him at the bottom. Still quite horrific though thinking of the brother at the bottom having to see his dead brother come down the slide after him. 😢

Yes it did, witnesses described the head coming down separate from his body. And first responders reported injuries incompatible with life so they couldn't even try to help him. His head was off
