  • 'Pride in Battle' is the epic story of the rapidly growing Xakanaxa pride as it battles to survive through one of the Okavango's harshest winters. Twenty-one adults and cubs now make up the group, and because of such a rapid expansion in their numbers, the adults concentrate their hunting efforts on the prey guaranteed to provide the most food.

Likewise.. Why it's so satisfying is because it's a rare sight.. Fathers are seldom around in general.. The present of a father in a child's life is so essential.. I've got nieces and nephews, and I've seen how beneficial my present as a male figure in their lives is, especially in the disciplinary department.. I don't use physical force on them btw..

@@spaceartist1272 That's not love you have, that's cruelty.. Even though it's just their nature, but why would a human find pleasure in when other male lions are usurping another pride, they would kill the cubs of that pride?? How is that any fun to see babies being killed??

It wasn't just dying! It was being eaten alive while still aware. That's completely different from merely dying. All because of the evil entities that designed and made this stupid, grotesque dimension. I swear I want to make our creator suffer like the elephant cub. We all should want to!

@@justdev8965 the people who filmed this documentary had nothing to do with those elephants who were eaten by the lions. If you're talking about the fact that th ey didn't intervene, I've been told that in some instances they are forbidden from intervening when they are allowed to film the documentary. Also, not intervening is the right thing to do. If they would have saved the elephants then the lions, all of them to be exact, would have surely starved to death. The elephants are no more important than the lions. If they would not have been there to film it, the lions still would have eaten the elephants. You just would not have known anything about it. Don't let the fact that you so not witness it on a daily basis sheild your mind from the fact that lions eat elephants every season when the buffalo migrate out of their territory. Prior to th buffalo migrating out of the lions' territory it is the buffalo who are eaten. In between seasons when the buffalo are gone and the lions aren't eating the elephants the lions starve to death. That is just the way it is and the way it had been for hundreds of years whether there is a documentary film crew there to film it all or not and whether you have a problem with it or not. Do not blame the film crew for not intervening when you're just upset with the highs and lows of nature. It's what it is.

This was brilliantly done. Question though, if the buffalo always leave during winter and the elephants arrive, surely they always switch prey in order to survive the winter? What else were they eating to sustain themselves?

Zebra, wildebeest, warthog, ostrich occasionally and impalas I guess.

At 3:48 That lion took a sneaky look after softly knocking the cub over to make sure no adult saw that 😅

That is how it is in the wilds
The strongest will win and be able to survive It is sad for us to watch them but it is the only way for the lions to survive in the wild. I know all about all of the big cats
They are the same as domestic cats .
Thank you for sharing the absolutely beautiful scenery of wildlife animals .

The lion conflict was ruthless lol and that last buffalo put up a good fight considering how many lions it had on it.

Remarkable struggle for survival yet no glory with an uncertain future. Who wants to be born a lion?

I don't. In any case, being a lion is really hard especially being a male.

Nope - lions cubs have a 80% infant mortality rate within the first year.
