When I have my child I will have both my mom and mother in law stay with me there is a lot to learn about mother hood from the older women

She Is so cute and lucky to have 2 grandma's to pamper her.
I am a Liberian from the Kru ethnic tribe. We are a coastal people from the Southeast in Liberia. This video brought back so many memories of watching my grandmother and mother perform these exact same bath traditions for a new born baby. I mean there is no difference here except maybe for the terminology like we call the sponge a sapoh, and it is made exactly the same way.

A mother never retires...whether great grandma or greater grandma raised to power 10! It was pure bliss watching your mothers do what they know best to do!!
I am from Louisiana this is a tradition we used to have. Mothers stayed in the house six weeks and grandmother's, great grandmother's and aunties took care of the mom and the baby. Thousands of miles away but tradition is so important. Even taking care of the navel has a traditional method. Thanks for sharing God Bless.

I am from Guyana and we do the same to babies. I remember my grandmother doing this to my son, I cried when she was giving him his exercise.
This is amazing. I had to learn that they’re not uncomfortable even whilst crying it’s just a new experience .

This video will help a lot of first time mom here in the US, so many first time mothers do not have experience and follow the oyinbo way of not bathing the baby for 2weeks they just clean them. I have had to teach two first time mothers with my very small experience.😂 thanks for this awesome video that even our kids and grand kids will benefit from🙏

@@promiseibeabuchi6537 yes ma’am, they tell you the baby dosent necessarily have to be dipped in water and just clean with warm towel. Few of us that had little experience back home are the ones that go back and do a proper bath, most first time moms just hide their fear under doctor said 😂

I had 3 c/s here in America too and I raised my 3 kids all by myself, bath them by myself right from the hospital. My mother and mother- in-law are still alive but were not interested in coming to help. Anyway congratulations sisi Yemi, at least you have a great grand mothers that still cares.

We perform the same herbal bath traditions for babies here in Uganda. Grandmothers/ great-grand mothers/ aunties/ mothers/ mothers in law may perform the tradition.
