I'm really regretting that I didn't measure it. It certainly felt as thin as a Z, if not even thinner. Of course, I could be my mind playing tricks on me because I'm used to playing five string Z's, and since this is a sixer, the thickness is automatically a smaller percentage of the width. I'll ask the customer if he can measure it once he receives it next week.
It's funny, I happened to just hear that song right before recording the video and thought it would be a fun tune to try and learn. I had never realized the main verse was a straight I - IV - V. Way too many strings on the bass for this old dog though. Apologies to anybody who knows how to play it properly.
Thank you for your thoughts and opinion on that. Some additional points you may want to consider are: 1. The customer who ordered it was excited to hear it and asked me to make a demo for him before I shipped it. 2. Other customers who are considering a particular configuration would like the opportunity to hear how that configuration sounds before making their purchase decision. 3. Dingwall currently has about 800 open orders for custom basses, and virtually all of those have already been sold to end customers, long before they even get built. People are waiting two to three years to get the bass they ordered. If the only demo videos made were videos of basses that are available for sale, then there would be approximately zero videos getting made. I can't speak for other dealers, but my next 35 custom Dingwalls are already sold. My understanding is that they are not building any "dealer spec" basses at this time, in order to minimize the wait time for customers who have put down a deposit and placed a custom order. If you are considering owning a custom Dingwall, then the time to order it is at least 2 years before you want to receive it.
Beautiful bass with great tonal variations!
That’s the best sounding D I’ve heard so far.
Wow the tone is really nice on this one.
Mi god.... That is just overwhelmingly beautifull and it sounds immense
Absolutely sick.
Are they making Afterburner necks as thin as a Z now?

@@JohnFoxBass I have a Afterburner six-string bass from 2006. I love it but it but I am spoiled by the slim neck of my Z3-6.
Nice 👍🏼

Not much point showcasing a bass that’s already sold?
