The future of history is simplifying two wars into a 10 minute video?

This Britain at War video continues to inform, educate and challenge- in spite of covering a period perhaps best known to modern generations. It captured my attention from the start and made me want to hear and learn more. Love the animations too!

6:57 "It was known as the Phony War. Of course not so Phony if you were Polish."
Yeah, as a Pole I confirm. History classes in Poland are absolutely dense when talking about that period.

Just a note from a Spaniard, we didn't turn to Franco. His troops won the war and many had to flee or were killed. In fact many were killed as the war started. Therefore, it was the unfortunate result of the Spanish Civil War.

Some were killed even before the war started, like the opposition leader Calvo Sotelo by some ruling party leader’s bodyguards on 13th July. This triggered the war which started 5 days later.

Chamberlain didnt resign over Norway, he resigned as a result of the negotiations to create a national government, he created the national government by his willingness to resign. He didnt lose the no confidence vote.
He was never desperate to avoid war, he purposefully flew to Germany when the crisis appeared at its height, calling it my coup. And even MI6 advised avoiding war over Czechoslovakia.

A good oversight of a dismal period of recent history. Lord Halifax only had one arm, so it was quite easy for Winnie to assert himself.
