Unassuming, yet, BEST kayak instructional video on the internet. Very effective conveying information in an incredibly easy to understand manner yet there's science to it too. Amazing 👏
Very good video to improve the average paddler's forward stroke, but I disagree that a high angle stroke is more tiring. Perhaps to start with, learning to keep your arms high is more tiring, but if that were the general case you wouldn't see marathon or surfski racers using a high angle stroke. It is certainly worth the effort to get over the initial discomfort and learning to keep the arms high if you want the most efficient stroke possible.
Your hand pushing forwards is crossing th e centre line of the boat - this makes the paddle go beyond your hips, which is not correct. Push straight forward, using torso and shoulders and push towards centre of boat, then the paddle exits at your hips and keep the kayak going in a straight line

Excellent video!
I noticed that you get almost no paddle drip inside your kayak, even in a sit-on-top. How do you do that?

littlerubberninja everyone has their own unique style, if that works for you then go for it.
Feel so hesitated raising the paddle that high, I know it’s most efficient but I just got water all over my pants and shoes and inside the kayak
Rotation. So many other videos neglect it.
