    The issue with registering a drone/aircraft under Part 107 appear when users have a drone/aircraft without Standard Remote ID. The first question: Does your drone broadcast FAA Remote ID information? YES or NO If you check NO the screen changes and drops the UAS serial number field. If you Check YES and then for UAS Type select Remote ID Broadcast Module and for REMOTE ID SERIAL NUMBER use the SERIAL NUMBER of the REMOTE ID MODULE you are done, you do not register the REMOTE ID MODULE or pay a second $5. I have no idea why the FAA has a YES / NO, NO only works for recreational flyer so why the question is on the PART 107 registration makes no sense.

    • @altitudeuniversity
      @altitudeuniversity  Місяць тому

      It has to do with whether or not the module is a part of the drone (the manufacturer made it) or if it is a stand-alone model. Standard remote ID is like how a DJI Air 3 has remote ID built into it. The version that requires a registration and additional fee, is if your drone did not come with remote ID built-in and you purchased a separate unit like those made by Zing and DroneTag. I hope that helps clarify it a bit.
