The NBA owes this man so much. He needs to be in the same category as Muhammad Ali. PERIOD!! Thank you Jalen for giving this man his Flowers. Long overdue and well deserve.

Mahmoud was the *real deal* back in the mid-90s. I was a Bulls fan as a kid, and I still remember the blender that he put us through during that [repeat the] three-peat run.
It seemed like every time he touched the ball the Nuggets would score. It was a nightmare to watch. Especially since the Bulls were on pace to get those historic 72-wins , while the Nuggets were at the bottom of the league.
So, I always knew Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf as a deadly basketball player (who was on the outskirts of stardom). The only other thing I knew him about him was that he was the guy who wouldn't stand for the national anthem. Then... he disappeared; and those were the only two things I knew about him.
Come to find out, he was even better than just a deadly basketball player (a lá Ben Gordon). He was a potential HOFer (a lá Stockton/Curry/etc.). And his skill level was insane.
Props for these interviews; for unearthing an incredible story.

Steph should be compared to brother Raouf, NOT the other way around!
He’s still the real deal! Basketball Savant! 👊🏾

I really enjoyed watching this interview with your guest Mahmoud. My son has some anxiety issues and loves bball. I'm going to have him watch this and maybe it will motivate him to not give up. He 23 but blames his limitations on not pursuing his love. He said he would make a great coach and I'm trying to help. I'm from michigan and they just tore down the Joe Dumars basketball court and courts are limited in my area.

Actually, Mahmoud Abdul Rauf was more explosive than Steph Curry. Abdul-Rauf had hops. He could throw it down you if he had too! Steph Curry has ankle problems. Curry isn't as explosive as Abdul-Rauf was.

I would have said Pistol Pete Maravich who also went to LSU like MAR as a top 5 ball handler that could shoot. He was ahead of his time and could play in today's NBA!

"Hi I'm Jalen Rose, and I've been saying the exact same thing to literally every single guest on my show for years because I think it increases my view count when in reality it only makes me look OCD and obnoxious."
