When I saw your Zelda Dark Sage animation 14 years ago, I was so blown away. I didn't even know where to start. So I started with what I had and kept learning a little bit more with each video. Now my channel is 12 years old, it's crazy when I think about it. I am really happy to know that today I can also inspire you. I am one of those who has no idea what’s involved in making a short/long animation, so it was very cool to see the process from start to finish explained in a simplistic manor for us layman’s. I can't believe I missed the premiere of this... still, I'm very happy that it's out! It was interesting- and kind of helped cement my feelings on animation even more, honestly. I only do it in classes so far but it's definitely what I want to do with my life, too. Question- do you model the characters yourself? They look amazing.
If you are learning at school it's an advantage you'll probably learn faster than me haha. For the models it depend on the projects. Some project I did 100% of the models but as I have many steps to do I also try to not make them if I can to help me speed up my workflow a little bit. I still make some of them but if I can comission someone or find free models it's a huge help.
This is great! You might not see this comment but where do you get your character sculpts and rigs? Or do you sculpt them yourself? I really like the style of them and would like to maybe use them for my own work. Also what software do you use to animate the characters? If you could give me feedback that would be awesome. Your work is amazing!
I've always wanted to get into 3D animation. It takes so much time and Keyframe animation takes forever. It must have taken you a lot of trial and error to have mastered it.
