I have a vivid childhood memory of beating this game, Tobey Maguire telling me “go outside and play”, and turning my head to look out my window to see freezing torrential downpour.
Thanks for sharing man, that was beautiful

Circus in town?
Looking back I can't believe they had the main actors doing voice acting for this
The circus must have been in town
It was surprisingly common for superhero tie-ins. All of the MCU phase 1 games had main characters voicing their video game counterparts with Tom Hiddleston, Robert Downey Jr. (though he did not return for the sequel), Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Terrence Howard, and even Edward Norton of all people.
Christian Bale did the voice acting in the Batman Begins game as well as the rest of the cast. They actually got Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman to VA for a video game. Lol probably how Liam Neeson got a role in fallout afterwords

@@jedimastertitaniumdickmana2939 It is nothing but good to reward Activision and the Cosby Suite crew with 70 billion dollars and telling Kotick that he can continue to run Activision after the acquisition is finsihed?
There is a voicemail of Kotick threatening to murder a female employee.
Microsoft said "let's make that man richer and make him a Microsoft employee."
You're saying this is nothing but good?
@@TJBrumfield isnt boby kotick expected to leave the company after the deal closes or something
@@sigmundspankr5505 There are anonymous rumors he might leave, but Phil Spencer's public statement is that he would continue to run Activision after the acquisition is finished and report to him.
The Activision stock had been tanking. Microsoft could have made the big contingent on the board forcing Kotick out first, but they didn't. Instead, Kotick's existing Activision stock is going to turn into more valuable Microsoft stock.
And his exit clause says he gets a $300 million dollar exit bonus if he is fired without reason.
If they forced him out earlier because of the abuse scandals, they could cite that as a reason for termination and that he wasn't fired without cause.
By Microsoft welcoming him with open arms, it becomes much more difficult to do that later, and do they want to associate their own employee now with that taint? So they're more likely to ignore it and either pay him the $300 million to go away quietly or keep him as a Microsoft employee.
Either way, they are financially rewarding abusers.
But the PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4 are 4 of the top 5 selling non-mobile consoles of all time. Microsoft is tired of losing console wars and wanted Call of Duty to be an XBox exclusive, no matter the cost.
But if I were a female Microsoft employee, how would I feel knowing that Microsoft execs are willing to turn a blind eye to years of systemic abuse if it makes them money?
YOOOO this was my game in 5th Grade, & one of the first I got for PS2, haha throwback

I played this a lot when i was little, but i never actually got that far. Still a banger ass game
As a child I remember the game being so difficult that I never got past the section where you’re in the homemade Spider-Man wrestling outfit, and I was so disappointed that I couldn’t play as Spider-Man in his actual costume.
The first levels are genuinely the hardest levels for a long time because *every* enemy has a gun in a very enclosed space. Then you get much more open spaces and a lot of melee only enemies
The early roof level was my favorite, as it was one of the few areas you could get the thugs to jump off.
Also, whenever I'd have a bunch of other friends over, we'd play this, and almost no one made it past the insta-death fork lift level.

@@ericforsyth No worries, I was just exaggerating. I was able to do that sort of thing convincingly enough like 2 years into video editing haha
I choose to believe that Dunkey's entire motivation for making this video was to make that dig at Microsoft at the end.
I hope it's true, because if so, I'd say it was worth it.
My first thought exactly when he made that dig! He probably looked down his list of video ideas for the first one that was produced by Activision
Bro, I was scrolling through the comments to see if anyone else said it.
This video gives off the aroma of the 70-year old black grandma Dunkey era, which, since More Dunkey More Problems' debut, has been a lot less prominent. Dunkey specifically choosing to play Spiderman: The Movie: The Game + Pinstripe Bowling in this video, and topping it off by doing his signature, longtime-missed, official Green Goblin voice acting, had to have been intentional to further the major obliteration that Activision recieves at the very end. So overall, 10/10, it really makes you FEEL like you're watching a UA-cam video made with passion.

What I love about games from that period though is the extras you'd get from completing the game. As you can see from the vid, beating the game unlocks goofy mini-games, novelty cheat-codes and the ability to play as the main villain as a totally new character. Nowadays what do you get? A shitty trophy/achievement. And playing as a new character probably wouldnt exist but if it did, it would be $60 DLC.

I actually really liked Tobey's lines especially when he was making jokes versus the movies where he had to be serious
Fun fact: in the first film, Spider-Man originally didn't crack jokes. Preview audiences didn't understand how there could be a non-wisecracking Spidey, so the filmmakers went back and added some!
As someone who first really enjoyed Spider-Man from the 1990s cartoon, his constant barbs were central to my feel for the character...I still remember playing this game, encountering The Shocker, and feeling "ah, that's the Spidey I know and love!"
Oh boy wait til u see the original scripts 💀💀 there used to be no humor until testing audiences complained about Spidey's lack of wisecracks
