Great topic and discussion Billy!! It will be interesting to see what the future holds for these players!! Appreciate the awesome content that you always bring to the card hobby!!
I always enjoy these types of topics, and you are spot on with the guys on your list. With 4-5 more decent years, a lot of them have a shot at getting in. I really like Freeman and Betts' chances, can't believe how cheap their RC cards are, need to go grab me some!
Great video Billy. You did some serious research for this one. It’s greatly appreciated. I’m hoping Mookie Betts gets in. He is a Nashville guy and I have known about him since he was at Overton High School. I’m also all in on Trout and Bryce Harper. Harper has been in the spotlight since he was around 12 years old. It’s cool when guys live up to their potential
@SouthernCollector14 Thanks, Tim. No doubt, and most of them don't. I really hope Mooki gets in as well. I hope Trout can be healthy again! I'm not a huge Harper fan, but there's no arguing him being a beast! Appreciate you!
Hi Billy. Great information on this topic. Definitely agree that future HOF pitchers, after this bunch, will be looked at in a completely different manner. Thanks for sharing my friend, talk soon pal.
@RipFan8 Sounds good, Stephen. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I agree that the bar for pitchers getting in the HOF if the future is going to be a lot different in the future. I hope all is well!
Ive been saying the same thing about Trout!!. Get him out of the outfield. He is always hurt. Just have him at 1B or DH. Angels are a young team. Bryce Harper is my favorite out of your list! All great players. Enjoyed
Much appreciated, Steve! I really think that's the best thing they can do for Trout! He's 32! Do you want him healthy and in your lineup for a full season? Or do you want him in center field for 40 games a season? It's an easy answer for me! Thanks for watching, my friend.
Great video brother! Tons of information. Based on the knowledge you dropped I am going to buy every one of these cards, just because Billy Ballgame told me to 🤪! Great stuff my friend. In all seriousness a few of these are on my list.
Nice video Bill. You mentioned Kershaw, Sherzer and I'm thinking what about Verlander, bang, you pop his card up. Three great pitchers. The Cards hot corners this year not so hot, like to see them finish strong in their careers.
Thanks, Doug! There are definitely others that could he added to these lists. I'm with you on Arenado and Goldschmidt. I'd like to see them finish strong even if it's with someone else, unfortunately.
@ssweeps I would agree with you that Thurman should be in! Unfortunately, he doesn't fit the criteria of this video! 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for watching and commenting.
Fun video, good conversation. If you take WAR per 162 games career: Right Field: +++Babe Ruth (10.48), Mookie Betts (8.2), *Aaron Judge (7.5), Hank Aaron (7.0), Mel Ott (6.56), Roberto Clemente (6.31), Frank Robinson (6.00), Larry Walker (5.92), Elmer Flick (5.81), Reggie Smith (5.27). Centerfield Center Field: Mike Trout (9.3), ++++Willie Mays (8.61), Ty Cobb (8.06), Tris Speaker (7.79), ++++Joe DiMaggio (7.79), Mickey Mantle (7.58), Billy Hamilton (6.44). Starting pitchers: • Starting Pitcher: Clayton Kershaw (5.94), Smoky Joe Wood (5.57), Pedro Martinez (5.37), Roger Clemens (5.22), Lefty Grove (4.99), Johan Santana (4.92), Sandy Koufax (4.69), Roy Halladay (4.63), Randy Johnson (4.44)
@Greg-x1g8t I should have, but I don't have any of his rookie cards! Chris and I talk about him quite a bit. I think he's got a good shot. He maybe needs 1 or 2 more productive seasons.
@RobCashCards He's a tough one for me. People have been talking about him being a HOFer for a while, but he doesn't have any of the "traditional" counting stats that make me think he's a shoo-in. His WAR is pretty good. His OPS and OPS+ are really good. He's a tough one for me because Joe Mauer kind of broke the system. I wish he could have played a few more seasons for his counting stats. I think he'll get in, though, eventually because his analytical stats are pretty good.
In the next generation of pitchers (after Kershaw etc.), I don't see how I could ever vote a starting pitcher into the HOF. The way pitching staffs are used now, they have lessened the value of those pitchers. I would have a hard time not voting for a great hitter and voting for a pitcher with a 120 wins and not a lot of innings. On another note, are you an Ozzie Smith auto collector?
I agree with you, Drew! Is there going to be a day where a pitcher with 100 career wins and a really low era gets in? A dude like DeGrom comes to mind. A few years ago, people were calling him a Hall of Famer! It could get crazy with "openers" pitching 3 innings a game. I would consider myself an autograph collector, so to speak, but I do have a few. I have an autographed bat and ball of Ozzie. Why do you ask?
@@billyballgamesportscards I know where he will be in a couple of months and it will be a somewhat intimate setting. Not a horrible drive for you...I don't think. I thought you might be interested. If you are, email me.
HOF locks. Scherzer, Kershaw, and Verlander. Cole is getting close, and wouldn't surprise me if he makes the baseball hall of fame. Ditto for Chris Sale. His CY young season put him back on the HOF trajectory imo. Ohtani assuming he doesn't fall of the face of the Earth. Trout has 3 MVP's, and several 2nd place finish. I'm rooting for him, to make a comeback, and agree that, the outfield no longer probably serves his, or the Angels best interest. Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman and Paul Goldschmidt would have my vote. As would Bryce Harper. Even if he's just average for the next 3 to 5 years. His stats would likely be 'good enough.' Aaron Judge, looks like he's a hall of famer. But not in the playoffs....sad, for Yankees fans, but good for us non-Yankees fans...lol. Soto would be the best bet of players under 30, as he's pretty much of a generational hitter, and has shown he can perform at a high level, when the lights are bright, too.
I agree with you on Sale and Cole. I think if they reach 3,000 strikeouts, they are in for sure. Soto is a monster and definitely on pace also. There are a lot of amazing players in the game today for sure. Great thoughts! Thanks for sharing! Thanks for watching and commenting!

@ken-pr2df Thanks a lot, Ken! I appreciate your support! They have some cheap cards for the most part.
Totally agree with your assessment. I enjoy these types of videos because it helps with buying and collecting cards. Greg from Ohio
Much appreciated, Greg!

Great video Bill. Those are all great picks for HOF. I can tell your just a dude who loves baseball.😁 Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I appreciate it, Dan! That's definitely me!

@stuke1976 Thanks, Scott! I had no idea about the war stat! That's crazy! Thanks for sharing! I appreciate you watching and commenting!
I was surprised that you didn’t include Salvador Perez.

Yeah if he has a couple more like this- no doubt!
Bill! Nice video, man. I know Votto retired during the season but what do you think about his chances?
