  • I got my hands on some used McKenzie and Rinehart targets. They needed a little TLC but nothing too major. It's and easy project that made for a great home archery range. BONUS- pretty cheap repair.

Good video, thanks. I used the same Loctite Foam (way better the Great Stuff) for a similar repair to a 3/4 elk target, the only difference was I used a custom drill bit (fabricated, about 16" long to pre-drill, then pounded wooden dowels thru the spine for support (rather than try to push the wood into each side of the repair area). Also, try a wire brush on the sanded foam, as a finish texture, before paint, to better match the repair to the typical target surface. Your targets came out great, good job!

I love the idea of the wooden dowel and the wire brush. Definitely going to try the wire brush to get a better texture. Thanks for sharing your advice, watching, and commenting.

Man thanks for sharing. I have a deer target that I want to try this on. Jerod, Big Al and I have really shot this target a lot. I have had it for approximately 9 to
10 years. I might be able to bring it back to life! Juddie - J & J TOA

Great diy project. I’ve actually used great stuff foam to repair a pig target years ago didn’t last long. I actually just got a new bear target in yesterday I’ll keep this in mind if I ever need to repair it

Nice but you used too much foam. Dont forget foam expands.
