I loved this-it was the most honest rehousing I’ve ever seen on UA-cam! Sometimes it just goes like that, I’ve definitely had a few that took a few minutes off my life! I use a pop up butterfly net now for all my rehousings, I can’t recommend them enough! I got in the habit of using them when rehousing my huntsman spiders, and now use them with everyone. They’re lifesavers! When they’re in the mood to teleport around in circles, sometimes I just have to zip it up, step back, and take a breath, so we can both calm down. Eventually the bolty spider finds a spot in a corner to hunker down, and I can go in & cup them. I use it whether I think it’s necessary or not lol-some tarantulas can surprise me. Saved me the other day when my black widow decided to take off while I was rehousing her, which I was NOT expecting. I’ve NEVER seen her run. She’s normally my easy one! Thank God for the net, I just zipped it shut and waited until she stopped moving.
Ahhh, yes, that is such a great idea, especially for the fast ones! Thank you I'll consider getting one of those, especially for my huntsman spider, she super fast😳🥴 but I would like to clean out her enclosure and freshen it up in a few months so I'll have to take her out. Thank you for the tip😇🥰 also. Thank you so much for watching, I greatly appreciate your viewership😇🖤
This was a great video Jen , you are very talented stayed calm and got the job done, love the enclosures they look awesome and natural really enjoying your content keep up the great work ❤

She definitely was going to bite the brush😂 I just don't like it when they might run up the brush and onto me😅 Thank you so much for watching, I greatly appreciate your viewership😇🥰
That was intense 😂 It felt so relatable with both the irminia and the pokie. Definitely had some interesting rehouses for pokies in the past, and with irminias running all over like crazy😅 Great video, though 😊 That was awesome to watch ❤

You and I talked about recently with rehousing Yukon, my N. Incei gold, I use one of those Large storage containers to put both of the houses in so if they try to bolt, it's a little more contained and hopefully they just run around the bottom if the get crazy. I say this now, while I have to rehouse my H. Gabonensis soon as well. Granted both of my spoods are dwarf's and still considered slings but fast little buggers. Great video
Yes, Yukon🥰 that's great you use those tools! My closet is small and confined, so it is hard for me to put a whole tub in there, but I've had the spiders get loose in the closet and they usually don't go very far, that's the nice thing about keeping them in a confined space! They are fast, very fast, haha! Thank you so much for watching, I greatly appreciate your viewership😇🥰
One of the best rehousing videos I've ever seen 😊and I've seen a lot 😂you are amazing and these husky eyes are not from this planet 😂thx for this video ❤
Thank you, I'm glad you found them useful! Yes, definitely always wait for them to stop. @@CrybabyTarantula I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but have you ever watched other hobbyists who put videos on UA-cam? I had to think about this for a few days so I wouldn't offend anyone. Your discussion of the warnings before the rehouse were spot on - definitely not a T to be messed around with. That being said, a pokie should not be housed in a front only opening enclosure. Top is better or front and top gives you much safer options. Both containers in a large tote of some sort is a good practice to perform. Did you notice the position of the T when you were attempting to remove the cork bark? Facing directly towards you. I don't know if you've ever seen one of these bolt but it could have been down the bark, up your tongs and onto your arm in the blink of an eye. Use a long brush with the brush end to move them gently and avoid poking them. And please do not handle pieces of bark or anything else with a potentially dangerous arachnid on it. The comment about being a professional could possibly get you into trouble in future rehousings or give newcomers into the hobby a false sense of security when dealing with these Ts. All in all, good video, remember yours and the spiders safety are top priority. Mike
I usually put BOTH enclosures in a big bin. Like the biggest sterilite bin you can find. Just rehoused a sling GBB like this and it was anything but boring
I rehoused my Aphonapelma seemani because her hide was too small, and with the shortness of the old enclosure, I wasn't able to add nearly as much substrate as I didn't in the new enclosure. She's much happier in the bigger enclosure. And I am able to access her water dish without her getting defensive about it. I like my spiders to have lots of room even if they don't use it all the time. And yeah, there terrestrial. I just preferred she had a bit more room to do whatever she wanted. She has been in her new hide a lot and seems to be much more comfortable now. I hope this helps! Thank you so much for watching, I greatly appreciate your viewship!
I usually put BOTH enclosures in a big bin. Like the biggest sterilite bin you can find. Just rehoused a sling GBB similar to this video and it was anything but boring
GBBs are cool! Mine will kick a million hairs at me, though, if I thought her with the paint brush, and that sucks!😅 Thank you so much for watching, I appreciate your viewership😇🥰
Again I think their enclosures were perfect for their size, you don’t wanna rehouse just for sake of rehousing, spiders like tight spaces. Especially with medically significant. Venom spiders you want to avoid any unnecessary rehousing. Your confidence will grow, but if you’re scared that’s the wrong way to approach rehousing. Try to watch as many rehousing as you can, Tom’s big spiders , Dave’s little beasties etc
I'm not scared to rehouse my spiders. Being nervous is normal, but I'm not so scared I can't get the job done. My two arboreal have been in those enclosures for months, and they have grown a lot since then. If I think or feel it's necessary to rehouse my spiders. I will. Either my enclosures are too small or too big. Can't make everyone happy.
Yes, I did!😭😭😭 I think it came from Helenas enclosure and was floating around in the air. It got in the lower lid of my eye, and I could feel it for two days straight 😩 I need some goggles or something! Thank you so much for watching, I appreciate your viewership😇🥰

It’s really crazy how the spiders that people say their defensive and they’re fast and mean did the easiest ones to rehouse
All spiders are individually different from one another. Some are chill, and some will fight you hahah
I started with two in 2021 I had a couple of losses but now I’m up to 12

An example of what not to do when rehousing a pokie
Okay, What would you do differently then, Mike?

Jen I think we’re about same time in the hobby, I started 2021 n you?
I started keeping last November!
Just wondering why you are rehousing the first one, it seems perfect?
I don’t think alphonopelma need height, they are terrestrial correct?
I rehoused my Aphonapelma seemani because her hide was too small, and with the shortness of the old enclosure, I wasn't able to add nearly as much substrate as I didn't in the new enclosure.
You making me laugh. I heard you fall when I almost ran up. That’s why you don’t do it on the floor.
I was sitting on the floor, but I almost threw myself through the closet door to get away🤣🤣🤣
Did you say you got an urticating hair in your eye? Are you okay?
Yes, I did!😭😭😭 I think it came from Helenas enclosure and was floating around in the air. It got in the lower lid of my eye, and I could feel it for two days straight 😩 I need some goggles or something! Thank you so much for watching, I appreciate your viewership😇🥰
How did you get the hair out? 😢
Scorpions?
What about scorpions?😅
@@CrybabyTarantula do you own any pet scorpions
@Kex_Vex I do! I have two Asian forest scorpions, one mature male and one tiny 1 inch baby😇🖤🦂
I think your catch cup is too big....
I definitely needed a smaller one lmao😅😂
Great video! Love the species and I can't imagine how frustrating and scary it must be when they don't go where you want them to. I had 2 tarantulas when I was a teenager growing up and I'm thinking about getting back into the hobby. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for watching! I appreciate your viewership 🥰😇
