I really like how you took the concept of the canisters and baskets and used them like you live in the real world unlike some of these showcase pantry vids that look like no one even lives and eats in the house. Thank you.

Great idea with the baskets for things that don't need refrigeration! Most of these videos put onion , tomatoes, etc! Those are not refrigerated in the store! Thanks for keeping it real!

I have a few things to say! 1. I love that your video was actually realistic. I HATE when people claim that and then spend $5000 on custom shelving and another $2000 on bins and canisters. 2. Your voice is super soothing. It's a Friday night, I'm trying to decompress from work and this video was absolutely what I needed. 3. Your top is super cute. I love the side slits and color!

@@LivingLikeMary no problem! I didn’t know either until a friend told me! You have to look at the recycle symbol and then look at the number. According to the Farmer’s Almanac Numbers 2, 3, and 5 are safe for food storage. But they are difficult to find! I really like the home edit stuff but from what I have read, it’s not safe for food storage. So I have a few glass container sets in my Amazon cart. I will be moving all of my spices to glass containers with bamboo tops. I will buy bulk spices from now on.

Great pantry space , just one thing I'd do differently , all your tins I'd get some riser shelves and put them on there, as you can see at a glance just what you have instead of pulling out those baskets each time , as they are heavy with all your tinned goods 😆 other than that it's beautiful . Love the labels too, clear and easy to read . Great job 👏

I agree with your observation. Cans should best be stored on risers for ease of locating, for inventory control and checking best before dates. Mary will go crazy looking rifling through those cumbersome baskets for a particular can each time. By not knowing what she has, there will a tendency to buy repeat items.

I've never figured out why putting things into jars is a good idea. It's an extra storage step. You don't know when they'll expire because the bag is gone. IF you buy the same kind of chips or what not, it will go on top of the already expired or stale food. And if buying something different, now you have to re-label. Why do that, other than it looks trendy?

GREAT QUESTION!?
It actually really helps with keeping my pantry organized and food fresh!! Being able to see what I have allows me to NOT over purchase, which means I’m using what I have until I run out. Which keeps my food fresh!! Something like “chips” would go fast in my home, so that’s easy. So Rice, noodles, oatmeal grain (items like this) we cook and use daily. Which means those items are continuously in rotation. So when I purchase a refill, I pour my “old” rice into a bowl, pour new rice into the container, THEN pour old rice on top! Hints, food always stays fresh!!
You have to know your own personal household use and needs, and organize based on that!! If you know you don’t eat allot of rice, you wouldn’t use in large containers nor purchase often.
You also have DATE LABELS!! Labels that you can input and change stock dates. If you don’t cook much, that would be helpful! However, with a growing family of 4 , we HAVE to have our pantry organized!! This video wasn’t based on “aesthetics”, but more so on a REALISTIC Pantry idea for large families!

It came out really nice! Love the little blue and white decorative jars and the ones with the bamboo lids! FYI potatoes and onions are supposed to be in a cool, dark place and not next to each other. They would work better on the floor away from the light. Just wanted to share in case you weren't aware. God Bless John 3:16
