A big thanks to Jayson Merrill for letting me fold this on my channel. If you're looking for more paper jets like this, head over to his channel to check it out! ua-cam.com/users/jayson5674
I love your air plane but I'm a kid and there very hard so could you make a new video that s easy and has the fold locks and male the airplane fly far thanks
You have to start with something more simple then develop the skills needed to fold the plane. another video isn't going to give those skills you need to fold it. ive seen 9 year old kids fold my advanced fighter jets, this isn't a question of the quality of the video or my diagrams its a question of skill.
Foldable Flight how 5 you make that
I mean sucks
10: 00 it looked like postem planes
You know what Kyle I designed my own template for this paper airplane. It has orange wings, blue fins and yellow body .As my request can you please make an another video where you will be teaching how to fold this paper airplane but you will be also featuring the template that I built .
If enough people like this he might see it
I can feature it in my Channel if you sub!!

I tried this plane with both printer paper and some thinner paper I found lying around and let me tell you it is hard with both, but the difference is that with the thinner paper it actually flies. I think there are so many people complaining because they made theirs with printer paper. Another thing is PRECISION. If you make your folds precise with a capital P, it will take effort, yes, but it will pay off. My final product looks and flies amazingly well.
Blizzard No problem!
I used printer paper and it worked fine for me
Printer paper is the best to do this with, and it doesn’t become to thick to fold, I have folded many of jaysons more advanced plane like the Vulcan and f22 ( in that range ) with printer paper and it doesn’t bundle up and make it impossible to fold, in fact it helps it by making it tougher
Same
If you want precision try getting a smooth pebble you would find near a pond or in your yard. Clean it, find its flattest edge and press it down on any folds you make. Jayson Merrill uses a dedicated stone for his work but I think this option works just as well.
THANK YOU FOLDABLE FLIGHT!TYSM!😎
Turns out it worked well! What I love about these are that you can make them mini, the weight distribution of the paper and the overall spread of the wings makes a perfect mini plane!
and flies well
After many tries, I've finally mastered the art of crumpling paper. 😌

Standing ovation right there.
Made this for my little boy. It’s flies so well! It’s my new favourite. Might make a few more so we can go to the park and have races.

Thanks for great paper craft. Fortunately I made exactly what you showed but my paper choice was wrong. It was little thick. But still my plane can fly. Thanks. Keep it up. Good gift to all kids.

@@FoldableFlight too easy man
@@FoldableFlightthanks Kyle is so easy to me
Very heavy plane designed for long distance, for those having trouble getting yours to fly, it requires a fair bit of momentum so don't hold back.
Epoxy a small length of paper clip with a hook . Use a rubber band and see what happens .
Good point! Initially I used a square cut from an 80g/sq.m A4 sheet (which starts as 297mm x 210mm) - plane was 11.6cm in length, tiny! and too heavy (4.5g), impossible to fold easily. Then tried an 80g.sq.m A3 sheet.(420mm x 297mm) - plane was 16.2cm in length, still too heavy (7.1g), and still difficult to fold. Finally tried a sheet 41cm square, 80g/sq.m. This was easier to fold. Plane was 21.6cm in length, and weighed 13.5g. It flew in my garden, but I think SAS TRACKING's comment (below) about using a rubber band propulsion is definitely worth a try. I have to say, the design I've used all my life (not a dart type) flies just as well, though probably not as far, and I can make it in about 30 seconds, much faster and easier than the diamodback. I do like the look of it tho'!
Howard L Smith - You are really serious about making paper airplanes bro . I wonder how many people make planes from the black high temperature plastic used in TV dinners or the aluminum from pans in takeout food .
its not designed for distance. its designed as a balance between, distance, manuerverability, precision, speed, and consistency. just like a real fighter jet.

This is a super cool airplane, I like the design too!!
Looks great and flies awesome

I actually have a book somewhere in my house that is about how to make paper airplanes. It's called The Paper Airplane Book and was published over 40 years ago.
I have one from when I was a kid called "Paper Flight"
I actually think I have the same book! It is super old (although I’m unsure of the exact date of publication) and has the same title.
Is it still in print?
I might have that. it sounds so familiar....
I like how there’s no cheesy music and the videos are straight to the poinn (kinda)
THANK YOU for telling me which side of the paper to start on. So many tutorials ignore that most readily available origami paper is one sided.
A rock will fly 100' without needing fancy folds.
Even your brain is above clouds without fancy folds (if you had one)
@@noword3019 hahaha well you don't have to get all upset and angry about it. It's a nice paper airplane. I was just noting the obvious.
But not gracefully.
That's true, but it may not be as beautiful or artistic as a paper airplane. Or as cool...

Beautiful plane . I really like it . Thanks for the video
you forgot the hack i learned in 1st grade for making squares. we used the same methhod, but instead of folding back and fourth to tear, or just using scissors, , we would lick the fold to moisten it and just tear the paper that way.
When I was younger I would always watch my older brother use "origami paper" to make *creatures*, such as unicorns, bears, fish, whatnot. But it was never really my thing. But now that I'm much older, and wanting to make these cool planes, I wish I had the paper he used...
Me to 😢
Don’t worry, jayson himself recommends using printer paper for a tougher plane
everyone gangsta until they realise they havent got 100 feet of space to fly it in

Amazing and simple jet Kyle! Thank you so much for this design!! :D
This sometimes confused me because while using a4 paper it’s too thick, but this is really good and really cool, and also I recommend origami paper.
Yeah I’m with you
This is an amazing plane. Will have to perfect symmetry so it flys better. Adding elevators and rudder should also work.
not rudder, no pls......., this plane flies straight and glides a bit too
Too real 🔪
You may want to explain why you used Hunter Orange instead of green, or brown... etc... 🤔

dude this plane is really easy to make. try folding the corner of the wings into tiny winglets, it will stop spiiraling
This and a few other simple designs Jayson has made really look more like UAVs than actual manned jets. And it is aesthetically pleasing.
Edit: You could've just said origami paper because Kami is Paper in Japanese so when you said "Kami Paper" you just said "Paper Paper"
Which UVA does it look like?
It's like a Predator Drone mixed with a Dassault Mirage.
I love this model. My only complaint is that if you use loose leaf or printer paper, it tends to be too heavy to fly, and acts more like a fancy dart.
Umm I use 80 GSM paper and it flies fenomenol
Try A4 pad paper and cut it down to size then fold the plane.
BUT my printer paper diamondback is quite well 70 ft+.... BUT YEH i agree.. my plane does lack a bit in maneuvering..

Thank you for the links. It looks like it flew quite well over there. I prefer using 20lb paper but it would fly too fast to be filmed, which is why I assuming you used origami paper.
No problem! I used origami paper because I had 10 inch squares, so I could fold larger planes. I tested those against 8.5 inch squares from 20 lb paper and they performed very similarly. Given that, I went with the origami paper since it was colored.

when your finish, its like you are only throwing a weighted amount of paper, the more strength you do,the farther it will go..its really not gliding same those normal paper airplanes.
Okay, it took me three tries, but I finally have an airplane that LOOKS exactly like yours. However, it's not "locked". The tail fins flop open when I let go. I've rewinded and replayed the last few minutes half a dozen times, and I can't figure out what went wrong. Help??
I can't tell if mine flies or not because my son has taken possession of it and now it's his favourite toy and he won't let me touch it, lol.
I tried this like 3 years ago and I didn't get it right, I came back to and its one of the coolest thing I've made

Rock The "Dwane" Johnson
Well rocks fly pretty far you trow them
thats why you should call it *a* rock instead of *The Rock*
I don't why people say this is hard
It isn't hard ,I built it in one attempt
And now I don't even fly it and just keep it as a model
So it doesn't crash
