While I do believe this is likely the most deserving of a rematch, I can see why some people are against it. First, it would be Shadow’s fourth episode, but I don’t mind that, it’s the year of Shadow after all. Second, it would mean Mewtwo vs Black War Greymon is farther away from happening. I’m rooting for this matchup to win, but I won’t be able to vote for it since I didn’t take part in the kickstarter and don’t really plan to. Even if I’d love a rematch for Goomba vs Koopa just because

Mewtwo vs Blackwargreymon is one of only two actually GOOD Pokémon vs Digimon matchups (the other being Hareta vs Marcus, which they would never do because nobody knows who the fuck Hareta is) but Crossover X did it, at least.
If they do Mario VS Sonic 3, I hope it's with Paper or Manga Mario VS Archie Sonic to make things more interesting.

Actually it woud probably more be fully compite both sine Death Battle themselves confirmed that the first Mario VS Sonic was basically Paper Mario VS Archie Sonic, it just they didn’t actually mention it on their episode and only showed directly game feats.
In fact they even said that their Luigi VS Tails was Paper Luigi VS Archie Tails, and they was planing to use Archie Knuckles too and let him bet Donkey Kong because of that, but they they figure out that Donkey Kong diner really have special version outside of the games, so they only went for games that time, which changed the outcome.

Incredibly valid choice. Mewtwo VS Shadow is a matchup that goes incredibly hard and could use a fresh coat of paint... Or just... a coat of paint at all given how rushed the first one has been :/
For me, I'm gonna go for Zelda VS Peach. There's just so much new stuffs about these two characters that it can be a totally different fight. I already liked the original, I don't care about the outcome, I just want more of it !
That's my vote too. The original was so disrespectful to both of them, and they've both gotten a lot more in their arsenals since then. Showtime gave Peach both fencing and ninja skills so have her go all out versus Zelda and her rapier and then take it to Sheik.
I keep having this vision of a climactic scene where Peach is zooming down the back of the Light Dragon on her motorcycle as they careen through the atmosphere from space. I don't know how they got to space to begin with but honestly I wouldn't question it.
I personally will be voting for Terminator vs Robocop, but I’m excited to see what everyone is voting for!

Not to mention, in the upcoming Sonic X Shadow Generations, we were introduced to the new Doom Powers for Shadow in the Shadow Generations portion of the remaster, from Doom Spears, Doom Blast, Doom Morph, Doom Wing, and Doom Surf.

I've always thought that Captain Marvel V. Android 18 could make great use of a rematch, there are new things to go over with both characters and correct some past mistakes in the analysis. Captain Marvel is a cool character and deserves some props.
Shadow VS Mewtwo got my vote, and this was the first matchup I thought when I've heard that the matchups chosen weren't definitive. This is such a good matchup, and it was done so dirty, I definitively needs a good Shadow VS Mewtwo here ! Though I can also see the other options too, and in my opinion, most of the matchups can definitively have a rematch. Yes, most.
Goku VS Superman excluded of course, why not getting a fourth one lol.

My personal pick would be Terminator vs Robocop. Not only do both have new material since the original ep released, but the animation for that fight has aged a lot (Even if it still has its moments)
Also it was Torrian’s first ever animation on DB so it would be cool to see him animate it again as he’s improved immensely since (If he’s interested ofc)

Mewtwo vs Shadow is one of two episodes I want to vote for, so you and I are in the same boat. The other is Hulk vs Broly. I have my reasons for both, so I’ll list a few here.
Mewtwo vs Shadow: the original episode was trash, and just about everyone agrees that was arguably the worst episode ever made. Aside from the fight being short, the voice acting was terrible for shadow. Also with the new info we got in shadow vs ryuko, the debate feels more fresh as we can argue points for shadow just as much as mewtwo rather than saying that shadow just gets stomped because “mind control. The end”. Mewtwo’s advantages are his mind control and his ability to heal faster which is useful for when his shields aren’t strong enough to protect him. You could also argue that mewtwo is smarter for obvious reasons and may also be the more level headed unlike shadow who at times is arrogant and overconfident in his powers. For shadow, his biggest advantage is speed. He easily scales to sonic who can temporarily outrun a black hole, plus super shadow can move near light speed and is basically invincible unlike mewtwo’s mega evolutions. Add that with chaos control, and shadow could potentially blitz mewtwo before he has time to heal like how he can cut through ryuko’s light fibers before they have time to heal. So yeah, a fight that’s actually debatable for both sides, plus the original fight needing a fresh take and better voice acting for shadow.
Hulk vs Broly: a lot has changed for this fight, particularly the size of the marvel and dragon ball universe which were covered in more recent episodes like Goku vs Superman 3 and Thor vs Vegeta as well as a closer look at the speed feats like broly keeping up with goku and hulk keeping up with Thor. Those alone easily tip the scale on who actually wins. Also while Ikari is a good soundtrack, they can definitely amp it up to a much more hype level like they did in the past for goku vs Superman. “Alive” was already a great soundtrack, but the new soundtrack “super” easily blew it out of the water while also mixing in a bit of the soundtrack “alive”. They can do the same thing here by mixing in references to Ikari as well as other music from both sides like hulk’s theme in ultimate marvel vs Capcom 3 and the dragon ball super broly soundtrack with the choir in the background shouting “GO BROLY! GO BROLY!” Even if you don’t agree that hulk vs broly deserves a rematch, you can’t deny that this kind of soundtrack would be awesome to hear. And let’s be real, the artwork for Ikari is all broly (literally nothing in that artwork is hulk related), so a new artwork that perfectly features BOTH hulk and broly would be much appreciated.
P.S. if shadow can potentially get four episodes with one of them being a rematch, then so can hulk

Honestly, fully agree, and I think its better than vegeta v Shadow getting it instead.
Never really had a take on having a death battle rematch, I always just kinda treated them like a regular matchup and tried to enjoy them. But if I had to make a top three, it would probably be:
1. Chuck Norris vs Segeta Sanshiro (the continuation, did they overlook something that gives one of them the win, that or they just stop fighting and Chuck finally buys the sega so he can make Segeta play Sonic 06 and question his loyalty)
2. Thor vs Wonder Woman (Mostly just to see if they have finally made Thor Fast enough to match Wonder Woman, and because I here the fight was somewhat unfinished and had to cut out some really cool ideas)
3. Luke Skywalker vs Harry Potter (The fight was one of their earliest and the games and spin-offs have defently caused some changes to the characters. Would be fun to see Harry to try defeat Luke using literally any other spell than the killing curse which he tried to use 70% of the fight.)
Honestly though, I'm more for a remastered version. For example, letting the fans pick two characters they've used before to make a new match. For example, I would love to see Static Shock vs Misaka, or Pokemon Starters 2, or as a wacky one, Astro Boy vs Danny Phantom - which would probably be one of the most interesting fights they've other done in regards to choosing a verdict for who wins. Since, as far as I know, Danny only ever fought one robot before and it was a pathetic looking duplicate of himself alla Metal Naruto. The big question I'd like to know is if, with and without the blue core from the 2009 movie, could Danny even possess him sense his body opperates very differently to a human. Sure, he could possess Jake long in his dragon form, but that was still humanoid and biological. I don't know, I just think it would be neat.

Personally I don't really give a crap about this rematch coming up, but you made a *really* good case for Mewtwo VS Shadow. Frankly there are so many episodes that are "worthy" of a rematch, but ultimately you're gonna have to pick one. I think you picked a really good one 👍👍

I don't know which rematch I'd vote for, but I do know that I don't want Mewtwo vs Shadow or Mario vs Sonic 3. I'm really tired of seeing Shadow on the show and Mario vs Sonic matchups in general. Bowser vs Eggman is really the only one left that needs to be done, and the rest are a never ending debate (Mario vs Sonic), a spite filled, one-sided rematch (Luigi vs Tails), and a bunch of boring, impossible, and frankly detestable matchups that shouldn't happen (Peach vs Amy, Knuckles vs Wario, Blaze vs Daisy, etc.). Plus, given that both Shadow Generations and Sonic Movie 3 aren't out yet, it's too soon to use Shadow AGAIN, and even if you want to ignore that in favor of seeing Mewtwo vs Shadow, it's not like it'll be that much better since Shadow slaps the shit out of Mewtwo. Memory erasure won't matter much since Shadow can still fight without memories and is more than fast enough to kill Mewtwo before it'd ever get the chance to wipe Shadow's memory. I find little to no interest in either matchup and would rather something else be redone.

Perfectly Agree with Everything.... While yeah, it would be Shadow's Fourth Time on the Show (Technically) I'll feel like it rematch should be viewed as a replacement for previous one, tho I understand why some wouldn't view it that way.
I do think Mewtwo VS Shadow should MOST definitely get a rerun since the original was just that bad and production and quality & quantity would be much better & the characters will be given more justice since OG did not do neither characters right.

Actually the matchup is debatable because the buff Mewtwo got in the Sun & Moon manga, making Mewtwo high multiversal in strength and durability, infinite speed and (Power Absorption, Power Drain, Power Swap, Power Transfer, Power Nullification, Energy Manipulation, Time Travel, Reality Warping, Portal Creation, BFR, Fear Manipulation, Power Mimicry, Sleep Manipulation, Matter Manipulation, Non-Physical Interaction, Pseudo-Intangibility, Spatial Manipulation and sealing) in terms of hax.

Honestly people say that it would be too one sided, but I think it would still, at the very least, be entertaining!
I'll be honest while I want ChiefSlayer you make a really good argument for voting for ShadTwo and I'll keep that in mind when voting for the rematch. Also Ben VS Hal 2 is not happening, I'm sorry to anyone who wants this but it's a garbage rematch that only has any traction cos Ben 10 fans STILL can't get over getting an L and like you said it'll have the same outcome, I'd rather just have Liam Swan explain in great detail on a podcast why Hal still wins.
Personaly I want the rematch to be Luigi vs Tails, that episode was released a long time ago, both characters have a lot of new things to show, the analizis can give us new feats an scales, and the fight and music can be better made that how originally was.
And also I would like Ben 10 in the show again, specially with a new oponent, I won't mind if it's a rematch, I think can give us quite new things specially for Ben.
But the problem with Ben vs Green Lantern at least fror me, is that it's a wound or a scar that aged really bad, because I get constantly reminded of that fight and how it ends, over and over by someones and others, not a specific kind of people, am including the official show itself by his merch and references, so that wound/scar that healed really bad gets constantly open again and again, and that makes me really bad, and get called salty by just having the idea of that fight changing dosen't help.
Dante VS Bayonetta is something I'd want. Both have gotten new material (Devil May Cry 5 and Bayonetta 3), so that'd be fun. As for Mewtwo VS Shadow...I get it, but i'd prefer to put Mewtwo aganist someone else

For me, Ragna vs Sol deserves the spot waaay more then Shadow vs Mewtwo. Ragna got one of the worst analysis segments in the show showing no understanding of his series, and even had the end of the fight used to shit on his series. Sol had it better, but other than the 'That Man' exchange, nothing exceptional of note happens. The fight itself is also very bad, being the worst of season 2s "dark period" and you can tell, them barely even using most of their moves.

Ryu vs Lucario, Blade vs Hellboy and Bakugo vs Yang arw DBXs that should have its own Death Battle (idk if this can count as a Rematch or jot but i still would like it to see)
If Shadow does come back for a potential matchup or a rematch, they should also go over to some of his new Doom Powers that Shadow will be getting in the upcoming Sonic X Shadow Generations, which is coming on October 25th this year.
Though, it's best to wait until after the full game is released so that we'll find out the Full Story of the Shadow Generations campaign of the remaster.
My personal vote is still doomguy vs master chief, it has the right balance of "these characters have evolved enough to not be boring" and "this battle really deserves a facelift". i would like to see a better version of robocop vs terminator but i think a remake is better than a rematch in that case since the action was already top notch, it just needs better visuals
Originally they planned to do Duke Nukem vs Master Chief. But they swapped Nukem out for Doomguy instead. I recently had a friend meant some rather interesting points about RoboCop vs Terminator rematch. I suppose I'll consider that as one of many secondary options.
I want a Master Chief vs Doomguy Rematch, too. The original episode came out in 2011, I think it definitely deserves to be remade in a more modern animation. Plus, it involves two badass people with guns. Think about it.
Right now I'm leaning to Master Chief vs. Doom Slayer since I feel like it's a candidate for the most outdated Death Battle in terms of just how different Doom Slayer is now.
Though if I decide to use my vote for something that might not have a chance of getting a rematch otherwise, then I might give it to Ryu vs. Jin. Reason being that the events of Tekken 8 have given Jin quite a boost that it makes me want him to come back for another Death Battle, but doesn't have a single new match-up that I like, so a rematch it is.

Glad to have another supporter for Shadtwo around. I’ve been doing a rewatch of the entire db series so far and yeah out of all the big rematch requests this is the only one I’d argue is absolutely necessary.
Every other popular rematch episode to me has an at least decent original while Shadtwo was a victim of so much it’s almost unanimously agreed to be one of the worst episodes of the entire series. Which is a shame for a matchup of this quality.
Vergil vs Sephiroth needs the rematch the most. Don't care if Vergil loses, I just want DB to do justice for the character.

Mewtwo is my favorite Pokemon and shadow is my favorite sonic character. So I was extremely disappointed that the episode turned out to be awful. I wouldn’t mind seeing a rematch but it would just be weird to me just seeing how many times shadow was represented.

Here's one for me. Crash vs Spyro would be awesome to get a remake. I loved the original fight. But it did feel one-sided at the time. And sense then I feel Crash has powered up enough to stand against Spyro. And with both of them getting remakes recently it'll be a sick fight with wacky tone, and it could also end up in space. And I do also feel that despite Crash's power upnit could still be a close one.

I once made a very long comment on another video that talked about Death Battle rematches about fights that I'd like to see get redone with a pick from each season with season two being the hardest one to choose from because it was so long (I never got a response to it because I'm guessing people got bored halfway through and decided to spend their time doing something productive) and Shadow vs Mewtwo was my pick for season 3 for pretty much the reasons you listed here including the animator doing a deliberately poor job because they didn't want to do fight animations anymore (that's what I read on the wiki at least).

After watching I’m on team Mewtwo vs shadow (and Mario vs sonic 3 because I hate Mario vs sonic 2 and seeing Goku vs Superman 3 I think it has so much potential)
I NEED this episode to be the rematch, while I think Master Slayer vs Doom Chief and Ben 10 Vs Green Lantern (Just for the sake of having a better fight animation and outcome explication). Shadow vs Mewtwo is my most hated episode and with animation and character writting standards of today, the fight would go insanely hard.
Even if Shadow vs Ryuko in my opinion is already a banger for Shadow to make a better episode, I still think this one would blew it out of the water.
Also we need another Pokemon Alone (No Ash) in the series, Goro vs Machamp was epic.

I would go with Vegeta vs Shadow, I personally want this battle to be the rematch as the research in the episode is VERY old. Plus both characters have gotten newer things, although I personally think Vegeta wins if they use their canon versions (Manga/Anime Vegeta and Game Shadow) however in terms of Heroes and Archie comics, makes this fight a lot closer. Even if it’s not an option to vote for this one, I don’t care if this one doesn’t win as the main rematch for season 2024

The fact that ben 10 fans still can't accept the fact that GL wins is kinda sad.
People want this rematch because this was the most controversial one. If the like/dislike ratio of the video is neck and neck then you know they did something wrong. Who knows What will happen if they do this rematch. They might properly explain their reasoning why Hal won or they might do more better research on these two characters and maybe draw a different verdict.
Regardless of what happens I know they will do the fight better justice.

Master Chief VS Doomguy is the one that deserves to win imo. However, a second place pick for ne is Lara Croft VS Nathan Drake. Original episode wasn't that great imo and they can update it with a more solid script, updated research, and include some of their more out there equipment (Lara has artifacts and Nathan I hear gets some mystical stuff). Not the most educated on those two but a friend of mine says there's plenty for a redo.

While I'm prepared for the "expected" matches to get in, I personally hope if they're part of the options, either the TMNT Royale or Pokémon vs Digimon. I feel these two fights have so much more potential for a rematch.
For TMNT you can do what DB did in Leo vs Jason where each turtle is a composite of ALL incarnations. PLUS think about a fight where Mikey and Donnie get to actually show off their skills (LET DONNIE USE HIS MACHINES MAN), for Pokémon vs Digimon I feel this fight has the chance to make this less Chairzard vs Agumon and more Red the Pokémon Champion vs Tai the Savior of the Digital World, the dream is using manga versions of both for a cool dynamic...think about it for a minute Red's team working together to try to overpower the intense presence of Agumon's Digi Evolutions. If you think letting Red use his whole team is unfair or "too difficult" then take a minute to watch Smash Brackets battle Red vs Ness. It shows just how AMAZING a full team Red could be in a fight. I feel Red would still lose, but COME ON MAN, it's a cool idea. Plus we can remove some of the stupid nonsense like "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? WE'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO FIGHT" or Charizard being worthless is Red isn't telling him what to do which is undeniably the most stupid DB choice they've ever done. I pray either is an option but I'm betting you can tell I really would love Death Battle to do Red, one of the strongest and most influential trainers in Pokemon, justice...

Since, lots of death battles right now get very climactic finishers to them. Meanwhile Ben 10 versus Green Lantern had a very anti-climactic finisher to the fight.

Mewtwo vs Shadow would be nice since it’s not just to switch the outcome. In fact, the debate is good enough to where either could win. Mewtwo may end up winning again which I would actually agree with. But to update the episode the was basically destined to fail is the best option. Though I would prefer the Pokémon starter battle royale in a perfect world
